After falling short of votes in her attempt to become Kansas Senate president, state Sen. Susan Wagle, R-Wichita, said the leadership race’s main issue was the state budget, not social issues such as abortion. But Senate President Steve Morris (in photo), R-Hugoton, told the Topeka Capital-Journal that some of his supporters were “pressured, intimidated, harassed” to support Wagle by groups including Kansans for Life. He said that the anti-tax Americans for Prosperity also supported Wagle. Mary Kay Culp, executive director of Kansans for Life, responded: “We didn’t do nearly what we could have done. We considered, but did not, rev up the phones.”

Those groups are hard-core at playing the bullying game.
I hope they keep it up. It backfires more than they realize.
Wagle stopped a measure requiring state insurance programs to cover birth control. I wonder how many abortions resulted because of her belief that a contraceptive is murder?
Plus she thinks everyone with a cell phone and cable service can afford to pay for their own private insurance…she considers herself pro life, but doesn’t want children having access to health care if their parents can’t afford it.
On the birth control issue..as far as I know, birth control is free for women with Medicaid benefits. Makes sense since Medicaid also pays for Viagra.
Oh Lord p.m., I’m only one year away from Medi-Care and chemically induced erections. Look out pre-school, here I come.
That’s Medicare, Beber..and yes, that program also pays for Viagra…funny how none of the cons complain about the taxpayers providing that little perk for it’s male citizens who are erectionally challenged.
I am ashamed to be represented by a self righteous, pompous scum like Wagle. It speaks very poorly of my fellow Kansans.
Well, based on the budget debacle that Morris has overseen, I would say harassment was in order.
You guys joined politics. Grow up, get some thick skin and quit whining.
Among a bunch of incompetents, Susan Wagle, R-Wichita, does stand out as the poster child. She is more stupid, less capable and more bigoted than the others. More chlorine for the shallow end of the gene pool needed.
I wanted a Wichitan in a leadership position but the over-the-top millionaires group, Americans for Prosperity, is just too tricky and too harsh with their threats against officials and citizens. Their hate-your-fellow Americans message is backfiring against them.
Morning fellow loonies.
Speaking of harrasment, how about every one of our special interest loonies here “rev up the phones”?
That’s really going to do the trick ain’t it?
Just think of all the wonderful phone traffic (besides the damned credit card companies trying to collect their exorbitant fees).
Poltical parties, gun lobbies, gay rights, anti-abortion, save your soul, teach creationism, etc.
Did I leave anybody out?
Also, yeah the Chick tract thing is funny.
Ask any gradeschooler that hasn’t been ‘conditioned’ yet.
The whole thing is some sick fantasy.
If you already bought into it, there’s usually a nutcase hanging out at Borders near 95th street in Overland Park. He could use some help spreading his fantasy. Or evangelizing, whatever your point of view is………
Morris is a baby-hating racist who is particularly eager for as many black babies as possible to be mangled, dismembered, poisoned, and beheaded in Kansas abortion mills, as a means of keeping minorities in check.
