Thing is, those earmarks are only called pork if they’re going to projects in other districts. If they’re to be spent in the 4th district, they’re called economic development. It’s politics and all the politicians do it. It’s called getting re-elected.

Actually, I should modify a bit.

MOSTLY Kansas chooses not to be part of the future.

By fighting and defeating the Holcomb coal plant expansion, Kansas actually set an important precedent.

For one shining moment, we were AHEAD of the future.

Tiahrt needs to literally realize which way the wind is blowing. Kansas CAN have an important role going forward.

Yeah well very little good will that do him. Even less good will it do anyone in Kansas.

In the unified Democratic government, Tiahrt is a bench warmer and Kansas will be forgotten. Elections have consequences. Kansas chose not to be part of the future.

My question is; why is anybody surprised? The GOP has made a fine record for spending these past 8 years. Republicans wring their hands about “tax and spend” Democrats. They’ve introduced us to a whole new era of borrow and spend. Let’s not forget that Republicans have roughly doubled the national debt in the past 8 years.

We need to get the pigs away from the trough.
