Think of others this Holiday season:

The Lord’s Diner is a faith-based charity, located at the corner of Broadway and Central in downtown Wichita, Kansas.

Thanks to more than 175 local companies who donated labor and materials for the construction of the building and countless donors who provided generous financial support to get the project going, the nightly meal service at The Lord’s Diner takes place in a debt-free facility.

The Lord’s Diner serves dinner nightly from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including holidays. A small paid staff, assisted by more than 5,500 volunteers representing many faiths and denominations prepare and serve a hot, nutritious meal in a spirit of compassion, respect and loving service. The Lord’s Diner is currently serving an average of 400 meals nightly.

    Our Mission:
To recognize Christ, to love one another, to share life, “In the breaking of the Bread.”

    Our Vision:
Responding to Christ’s call to feed the hungry, The Lord’s Diner, a not-for-profit soup kitchen operated by the community, for the community, and sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Wichita, will provide an evening meal seven days a week, 365 days a year. It seeks to achieve this goal in a spirit of compassion, respect, and loving service through cooperative efforts with churches, individuals, and organizations.

    Dear P-Mom,

Did you intentionally miss the point of the article or are you just incredibly stupid? Where do you get that any one would wish that a 10 year old child carry a baby to term?

Is the sacrament of the abortion procedure so precious to you and yours that it must be protected even if the rapist of a 9 or 10 year old child goes free?

I didn’t read that anywhere in the article.

I think Kline was more interesting in who the rapist was, as it was an act with a 10 year old, which by definition would be rape regardless of the circumstance.

Kline was probably also wondering why this rape was not reported.

Defense officials privately criticize U.S.-Iraq troop withdrawal accord
    By NANCY A. YOUSSEF
    McClatchy Newspapers

WASHINGTON — Although the Pentagon officially has welcomed the new accord on a U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq, senior military officials are privately criticizing President George W. Bush for giving Iraq more control over U.S. military operations for the next three years than the U.S. had ever contemplated.

Officials said U.S. negotiators had failed to understand how the two countries’ political timetables would force the U.S. to make major concessions that relinquish much of the control over U.S. forces in Iraq. They said Bush gave in to Iraqi demands to avoid leaving the decisions to his successor, Barack Obama.

At times, “President Bush wanted this deal more than the Iraqis did,” said a senior administration official who closely monitored the negotiations.

This official, and others, all who spoke anonymously to be candid, offered a first glimpse into the dynamics of the secret negotiations, which gave Iraq almost unprecedented control over U.S. troops in the period between Jan. 1 and a final U.S. withdrawal from Iraq on Dec. 31, 2011.

As part of the accord, which U.S. and Iraqi officials signed in Baghdad on Monday, Iraq will have potential authority over U.S. military operations, intelligence-gathering, cargo shipments and even the mail sent to American troops. Foreign contractors are subject to Iraqi law. On Jan. 1, Iraq will assume control of the U.S.-fortified Green Zone in Baghdad, and of the nation’s airspace.

The officials said the biggest factor in the outcome was the Iraq government’s decision to re-schedule provincial elections from October until the end of January, which gave its negotiators strong arguments to drive a hard bargain.

At the same time in Washington, political pressures generated by Obama’s victory, first in the primaries and then in the general election, led Bush to meet the Iraqi demands.

The Bush administration had sought a conventional status of forces agreement that would provide a semi-permanent basis for stationing troops in Iraq, while Obama campaigned on promises to withdraw all combat troops within 16 months of his inauguration. The Arabic language version calls the final agreement a withdrawal accord.

Interesting how one can read an article and bring their own prejudices to the conclusion no matter what the facts are. This article is biased in the presentation of the facts, but anyone following this case over the past couple of years can piece together what happened. It’s hard when the media basically act like the PR firm for Tiller’s attorneys but it can be done.

The reason that this ten year old girls records are significant is that one year ofter the abortion done by Tiller Kline found out there was a man in jail for raping this little girl. Tiller didn’t report the abortion like he was suppose to. If he had, it wouldn’t have been a surprise to authorities when they found out.

This is a very sad case. It is even sadder that people like P-Mom and others have been so programmed with their responses that they need never to think about the truth. They merely pull the same ignorant rant out of their ass every time the subject of abortion comes up.

    From the above link –

“Prosecutor Steve Maxwell and investigator Tom Williams would repeat the story of the girl’s abortion, and Tiller’s supposed failure to report it, to Shawnee County Judge Richard Anderson, court transcripts showed. But that was more than a year after they learned of the prosecution in the girl’s home state.

Another document indicated Tiller had reported the girl’s abortion to Kansas Child Protective Services. But Williams said that wasn’t clear to him at the time.”

In this case, it doesn;t matter whether or not the Kansas AG has jurisdiction over a crime that happened in Texas. He does, by virtue of the statute noted above, have jurisdiction over an abortion provided to a child under the age of 14 in the state of Kansas, which is where the abortion was performed. If Tiller did not comply with the law, he is guilty of said law. Period. Being for or against abortion has nothing to do with the facts in this particular case.

Tiller, the Kansas abortionist, practicing in Kansas, under the laws and jurisdiction Kansas failed to report the abortion performed on a 10 year old girl in Kansas IAW the laws of Kansas where Kline, the Kansas AG had the responsibility and the jurisdiction to investigate suspected Kansas crimes and prosecute Kansas crimes. Tiller violated a Kansas Statute. The crime Kline is investigating was a Kansas committed crime.

“My boy is not a bastard!”

No. Your boy was a virtual orphan, raised fatherless until you betrayed your original wedding vows and settled into a life of compensating for your obvious parenting deficiencies during his formative years.

He’s shared with the rest of this forum how much he hates being called “boy.” Perhaps if you’d treat him better than the dogs you train you might notice.

Scientiets have sequenced the DNA of a Wooly Mammoth, an animal that roamed in Kansas 50,000 years ago. This sequencing sets the stage for the possibility of cloning these animals. If scientists were able to do that, would it have any impact on Price family contention that the world is only 10K years old?

They seem particularly interested in County Sheriff and local judiciary positions… Most of them believe the County is the highest form of government in the Nation….

Wrapping it in aluminum foil with holes poked through it and then grilling it over charcoal works well, and frees up the oven.

Boeing to cut 800 Wichita jobs in 2009
    BY MOLLY MCMILLIN
    The Wichita Eagle

Wichita’s aviation industry took another hit Wednesday when Boeing said it would cut 800 jobs — about a quarter of its Wichita work force — in the first half of next year.

A handful of layoff notices will be issued Friday. The remainder will be distributed early in 2009.

Wednesday’s announcement was the third major layoff by a Wichita aviation company this month.

Hawker Beechcraft announced Nov. 3 that it was cutting about 490 jobs this month. Less than 10 days later, Cessna Aircraft said it would lay off 500 employees in early January.

Canada geese are protected by the United States Fish and
Wildlife Service under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 and
the Migratory Bird Conservation Act of 1929.

However, the Secretary of the Interior is also authorized to
legalize temporary hunting of migratory birds “based on due regard
to distribution, abundance, and breeding habits.”
States mayimplement additional laws that are tougher in enforcement.

Violations of this act constitute federal felonies and are subject
    to fines and imprisonment.

“Proposition 8 Forces Focus On The Family Into Massive Layoffs
By Nicole Belle Thursday Nov 20, 2008 11:30am

Those darn gays and their desire to treated like any other American couple…they’ve forced James Dobson’s Focus on the Family to announce layoffs of approximately 20% of their work force, or 202 employees, due in no small part to the more than $500,000 spent on the Yes on 8 campaign. Colorado Independent:

Focus on the Family announced yesterday afternoon that 202 jobs will be cut companywide — an estimated 20 percent of its workforce. Initial reports bring the total number of remaining employees to around 950.

Focus on the Family is poised to announce major layoffs to its Colorado Springs-based ministry and media empire today. The cutbacks come just weeks after the group pumped more than half a million dollars into the successful effort to pass a gay-marriage ban in California.

Critics are holding up the layoffs, which come just two months after the organization’s last round of dismissals, as a sad commentary on the true priorities of the ministry.

“If I were their membership I would be appalled,” said Mark Lewis, a longtime Colorado Springs activist who helped organize a Proposition 8 protest in Colorado Springs on Saturday. “That [Focus on the Family] would spend any money on anything that’s obviously going to get blocked in the courts is just sad. [Prop. 8] is guaranteed to lose, in the long run it doesn’t have a chance — it’s just a waste of money.”

In all, Focus pumped $539,000 in cash and another $83,000 worth of non-monetary support into the measure to overturn a California Supreme Court ruling that allowed gays and lesbians to marry in that state. The group was the seventh-largest donor to the effort in the country. The cash contributions are equal to the salaries of 19 Coloradans earning the 2008 per capita income of $29,133.

In addition Elsa Prince, the auto parts heiress and longtime funder of conservative social causes who sits on the Focus on the Family board, contributed another $450,000 to Prop. 8.[..]”

Gee, and they dont even have a union…..

Global warming predictions are overestimated, suggests study on black carbon

The findings are significant because soils are by far the world’s largest source of carbon dioxide, producing 10 times more carbon dioxide each year than all the carbon dioxide emissions from human activities combined. Small changes in how carbon emissions from soils are estimated, therefore, can have a large impact.

    Posted November 20, 2008 at 3:20 pm | Permalink

It could be, Sol; other areas of inquiry might include whether there was an intervening increase in the state gasoline tax, any changes in blending requirements due to the time of year, any ramp up in refining heating oil with a decrease in gasoline refining.

All that said, the pump price surely increases faster than it declines as oil price changes.

“My boy is not a bastard!”

Maybe not in the sense of the way you are using the word. He IS, like you, a liar, bully, and just plain unpleasant person.

My son asked for permission to swear so he can answer your attack here. I granted it.

    “Sh1++y as$ sama!”

So the forum knows? The blood feud between the Price family and mine goes back to the beginning of this blog and was started and is occasionally stoked by the Price’s, the elder one in particular.

Today we see a good example of how this usually happens.

I did not address Hank or his family. I did not even allude to them. But I DID post along with a running commentary that he didn’t like.

I said that attempts to ban abortion are now a lost cause.

Hank didn’t like that or the general direction of the conversation because in his heart he knows it is true. And, as he very much wants to tell other people how to live, he is very frustrated right now that that is just not gonna be how reality turns out.

All his wife’s and his money and his considerable reasons to be happy in life, and he still isn’t happy because the world doesn’t work according to Hank’s book.

SO, as is usually the case in this situation, he came after me. This time he included my son. This has been one of his more bizarre attacks. To suggest that a single parent switched from “pro life” to pro choice out of bitterness? And I have elsewhere posted that part of what changed my mind was the realization that parenthood is not something that you can just force on people.

This of course, does nothing to change the reality that Hank is frustrated and unhappy with. But for just a few minutes, it made Hank feel bigger, better, than he is.

    To answer your question Hank?

The story of how I came to be a single dad is a long one. Parts of it are very painful for me. As you are a cold hearted (My Nathan’s addition), cruel, mean person who takes pleasure in the pain of others, I won’t be sharing any further information with you. Suffice it to say that what I know of you as a father and a person stacks up very poorly against me and what I have been through.

Until next time your small heart and mind sends you looking for lil’ ol’ me,

Yep, BlueJay, you just keep on proving what an absolute horrible father you are.

Just sick and pathetic, that you have to resort to using your own son in such a way just to argue with someone on the blog.

What a sad loser you are.

It appears to me that the market is being manipulated. Note the pattern. It holds for a while, then drops off at the end of the day. This has happened time and time again. You can buy a lot of solid companies now, with dividend rates of over 10 percent. As I’ve said before, I’m scrapping every cent I’ve got together and throwing it at the market. Yes thank-you Obama for destroying the stock market.

Since Obama won the election the stock markets are down 21%! TWENTY-ONE PERCENT LOSS!!!
    ————————————————–

Investors are worried as heck as the impact of raising income taxes on small business, and raising the capital gains tax investors are betting will occur EFFECTIVE 1/1/2009 with a RETRO – ACTIVE tax increase passed by the DEMOCRATS and signed by OBAMINATION.

I’ve sold 3/4 of my stock too for the same reason. You have to be an idiot not to cash out now!

Obama is bringing frickin C H A N G E alright, and the investors can clearly see the Socialist change that will Raise Taxes, Raise Spending, and continue the Nationalization of Private Industry.

When investors see a Facist coming into power, they cash out.

Stock prices are approaching the 20% range drop since the election. Obama sent out signals and the market didn’t like it.

As I said before the election when the dems were gushing over raising taxes on the ‘rich’. They don’t need us nearly as much as we need them and thier money. We need them to invest in industry, in manufacturing, in expansion, in research, etc… These posters that say let them run – not me.

    That would be DavidB buying.

Trust me DavidB you don’t want to be holding their stock if they fill reorganization. I can tell you that from personal experience.

When Sunbeam did that we were left holding worthless stock because new stock was issued for the new ‘holding company’.

Sunbeam was a very old company with great potential and market recognition. Why did it fail?

Morgan Helped Sunbeam Inflate Its Finances, Judge Rules
    March 24, 2005 in print edition C-4

    National History Museum Reopens

Flag from Ft McHenry is the Centerpiece!

COURSE those like BJ are chomping at the bit to go to the museum and burn the very flag that inspired “The Star Spangled Banner”.

Just like BJ/JR burned his own flag, in front of his son.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Star-Spangled Banner is so threadbare you can see through tattered sections of its broad stripes and bright stars to the table where it rests at the overhauled National Museum of American History opening this week.

The museum, which draws millions of visitors, has been closed for more than two years for an $85 million facelift. It will reopen to the public Friday with a three-day festival.

Once overlooked by some visitors as it hung near the museum entrance, the nearly 200-year-old flag that inspired the words of the national anthem is now the centerpiece of the reinvented museum. The flag gallery’s carefully controlled climate will help preserve the fragile fabric that has deteriorated over time.

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who often speaks about the 1814 British attack on Baltimore’s Fort McHenry when Francis Scott Key penned “The Star-Spangled Banner,” said he got teary seeing the new flag display. He spoke of the flag as if it were an old friend.

“My mom used to bring me down here as a little boy when she hung in the entrance to this museum,” O’Malley said as he gazed at the 30-by-34 foot flag. “One could almost sit here for hours just staring at this magnificent icon of American triumph through great adversity.”

At a rededication ceremony for the 44-year-old museum Wednesday, President George W. Bush urged all Americans to visit the museum, which he called a “fantastic place of learning.”
