Poor Jana,
If she had a CCH she might be alive now.
Duh Libs are sounding more and more like Islamists, having martyrs and all.
Think of others this Holiday season:
The Lord’s Diner is a faith-based charity, located at the corner of Broadway and Central in downtown Wichita, Kansas.
Thanks to more than 175 local companies who donated labor and materials for the construction of the building and countless donors who provided generous financial support to get the project going, the nightly meal service at The Lord’s Diner takes place in a debt-free facility.
The Lord’s Diner serves dinner nightly from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including holidays. A small paid staff, assisted by more than 5,500 volunteers representing many faiths and denominations prepare and serve a hot, nutritious meal in a spirit of compassion, respect and loving service. The Lord’s Diner is currently serving an average of 400 meals nightly.
Our Mission:
To recognize Christ, to love one another, to share life, “In the breaking of the Bread.”
Our Vision:
Responding to Christ’s call to feed the hungry, The Lord’s Diner, a not-for-profit soup kitchen operated by the community, for the community, and sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Wichita, will provide an evening meal seven days a week, 365 days a year. It seeks to achieve this goal in a spirit of compassion, respect, and loving service through cooperative efforts with churches, individuals, and organizations.
“Another Positive Christian Influence in Wichita”
Sent my Thanksgiving gifts to my church and the Sheriff’s program already samkan.
It’s a good season to be giving and not forget about the less fortunate.
Hank, nobody knows why or how she got there, so don’t assume that.

It floors me how the antis would want a ten year old rape victim to give birth. He reported just like he was supposed to, and Kline was a scumball.
Dear P-Mom,
Did you intentionally miss the point of the article or are you just incredibly stupid? Where do you get that any one would wish that a 10 year old child carry a baby to term?
Is the sacrament of the abortion procedure so precious to you and yours that it must be protected even if the rapist of a 9 or 10 year old child goes free?
>It floors me how the antis would want a ten year old rape victim to give birth.<
PMOM..
Did I miss that? I didn’t read anywhere that the Pro-Lifer’s wanted this little girl to actually give birth. Was that even mentioned?
But he DID NOT GO FREE. He reported it just as he should had. Even after evidence that it had already been prosecuted.
They do though Sam. Yes they really do.

——————————–
I didn’t read that anywhere in the article.
I think Kline was more interesting in who the rapist was, as it was an act with a 10 year old, which by definition would be rape regardless of the circumstance.
Kline was probably also wondering why this rape was not reported.
The pregnant 10-year-old rape victim was from another state. Her attacker was already in jail awaiting trial.
You present a false, irrelevant argument in an effort to deny this was a personal and political vendetta by Kline.

Defense officials privately criticize U.S.-Iraq troop withdrawal accord
By NANCY A. YOUSSEF
McClatchy Newspapers
WASHINGTON — Although the Pentagon officially has welcomed the new accord on a U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq, senior military officials are privately criticizing President George W. Bush for giving Iraq more control over U.S. military operations for the next three years than the U.S. had ever contemplated.
Officials said U.S. negotiators had failed to understand how the two countries’ political timetables would force the U.S. to make major concessions that relinquish much of the control over U.S. forces in Iraq. They said Bush gave in to Iraqi demands to avoid leaving the decisions to his successor, Barack Obama.
At times, “President Bush wanted this deal more than the Iraqis did,” said a senior administration official who closely monitored the negotiations.
This official, and others, all who spoke anonymously to be candid, offered a first glimpse into the dynamics of the secret negotiations, which gave Iraq almost unprecedented control over U.S. troops in the period between Jan. 1 and a final U.S. withdrawal from Iraq on Dec. 31, 2011.
As part of the accord, which U.S. and Iraqi officials signed in Baghdad on Monday, Iraq will have potential authority over U.S. military operations, intelligence-gathering, cargo shipments and even the mail sent to American troops. Foreign contractors are subject to Iraqi law. On Jan. 1, Iraq will assume control of the U.S.-fortified Green Zone in Baghdad, and of the nation’s airspace.
The officials said the biggest factor in the outcome was the Iraq government’s decision to re-schedule provincial elections from October until the end of January, which gave its negotiators strong arguments to drive a hard bargain.
At the same time in Washington, political pressures generated by Obama’s victory, first in the primaries and then in the general election, led Bush to meet the Iraqi demands.
The Bush administration had sought a conventional status of forces agreement that would provide a semi-permanent basis for stationing troops in Iraq, while Obama campaigned on promises to withdraw all combat troops within 16 months of his inauguration. The Arabic language version calls the final agreement a withdrawal accord.
Interesting how one can read an article and bring their own prejudices to the conclusion no matter what the facts are. This article is biased in the presentation of the facts, but anyone following this case over the past couple of years can piece together what happened. It’s hard when the media basically act like the PR firm for Tiller’s attorneys but it can be done.
The reason that this ten year old girls records are significant is that one year ofter the abortion done by Tiller Kline found out there was a man in jail for raping this little girl. Tiller didn’t report the abortion like he was suppose to. If he had, it wouldn’t have been a surprise to authorities when they found out.
This is a very sad case. It is even sadder that people like P-Mom and others have been so programmed with their responses that they need never to think about the truth. They merely pull the same ignorant rant out of their ass every time the subject of abortion comes up.
Political Mom, I think the desire for the antis would be to delay the abortion as much as possible so the rapist could have his child. The life and health of the 10 year old girl is of no consequence since she’s serving her function as a incubator.

bullcrap…
The investigation was after the child received the abortion.
dumb ass
Thanks Regular, your argument that antis are opposed to abortions after abortions are performed clears everything up. Did you enjoy your moron soup this morning?
“Regular” –
From the above link –
“Prosecutor Steve Maxwell and investigator Tom Williams would repeat the story of the girl’s abortion, and Tiller’s supposed failure to report it, to Shawnee County Judge Richard Anderson, court transcripts showed. But that was more than a year after they learned of the prosecution in the girl’s home state.
Another document indicated Tiller had reported the girl’s abortion to Kansas Child Protective Services. But Williams said that wasn’t clear to him at the time.”
Sounds like Kline and Williams either screwed up or simply was lying to the Shawnee County court.
It’s a personal a political vendetta.
Admit it.
Or take “HLP’s” lead and start blaming “the media” for reporting facts that undermine your prejudice.

Yeah, one version said Tiller didn’t report it and the other version said it was “UNCLEAR” where Tiller reported it or not.
How can a form filed to the state of Kansas be “unclear.”
I call bullshyt.
Sigh…
A bortion.
A gain.
Deal with a little thing called reality. Women have a right to reproductive freedom that is more than 30 years in place. The election of Barack Obama guarantees a Supreme Court that will uphold Roe v. Wade for the rest of our lives. The battle over banning abortion is over.
Well, Monkeyhawk, at least I consider the facts before I come to conclusions.
The article says that Tiller reported the abortion to ‘Child Protective Services’. Unfortunately, that doesn’t comply with the law that requires him to report all the details to the KBI plus preserve and submit some of the fetal tissue that can be used in prosecution of the rapist.
Tiller’s attorneys are not disputing the evidence. They are whining that the evidence was acquired improperly.
Good morning BJ!
It’s always informative to read your contributions to any debate.
It seems that your stance on abortion changed just about the same time you got stuck with raising your bastard child.
How convenient!
“Regular” –
Williams said “…it wasn’t clear to him at the time.”
But it was clear enough to Judge Anderson who handed Williams and Maxwell their butts for present false evidence and accusations against Tiller.
That got all you Illegal Abortion advocates to whining about how evil Richard Anderson was.
Lewis Carrol’s Red Queen had a more rational approach to justice.
“Sounds like Kline and Williams either screwed up or simply was lying to the Shawnee County court.”
Selective copy and paste? From the same article:
“Another document indicated Tiller had reported the girl’s abortion to Kansas Child Protective Services. But Williams said that wasn’t clear to him at the time.”
Wrong again, “HLP” –
The 10-year-old’s abortion was reported to the proper authorities.
The crime was committed and the accused rapist was already in jail in Texas.
The KBI had no jurisdiction in a case that was already in adjudication.
Everyone knows Kline’s agenda and you Illegal Abortion advocates will use any lie to promote your quest for more 10-year-old rape-victim mothers, clinic bombings and assassinations of doctors.
Show me the law that says Tiller has to report to ‘Child Protective Services’.

What can you say in response to the incendiary idiocy of a comment like that? It speaks volumes for itself and about it’s author.
If you all would read the comments after the article you’re whining about, P_Mom’s comment would make more sense.

Can you post the one that gives the Kansas AG jurisdiction over a crime that happened in Texas?

The only “incendiaries” involved were used to firebomb women’s clinics.
Of course you can say anything in response. I’m right and you’re wrong.
Funny how often the truth silences the CONs in this forum. Or, more often, reduces them to name-calling, whining, and/or shameless lies.
…shall preserve,… fetal tissue extracted during such abortion. -65-67a09
Chapter 65.–PUBLIC HEALTH
Article 67a.–FETAL ORGANS AND TISSUE
I wonder why they don’t call it a baby?
In this case, it doesn;t matter whether or not the Kansas AG has jurisdiction over a crime that happened in Texas. He does, by virtue of the statute noted above, have jurisdiction over an abortion provided to a child under the age of 14 in the state of Kansas, which is where the abortion was performed. If Tiller did not comply with the law, he is guilty of said law. Period. Being for or against abortion has nothing to do with the facts in this particular case.
Well, I hadn’t called you any names yet, Monkeyhawk. But if you are going to accuse me of doing it anyway; you’re an amoral IDIOT who contributes nothing but animosity and division.
Other than that, you’re an OK guy.
Based on the law, if some tiny bit of fetal tissue somehow escapes the physician’s notice and is accidentally NOT submitted to the FBI…is that a crime or multiple crimes?
Also, under AG Kline what “(4) procedures for proper disposal of fetal tissue preserved pursuant to this section;” did he reccomend?
I would assume a full burial for THE BABY.

You know Monkeyhawk, I used to think you had a little sense and you merely posted this incredibly stupid crap just to get a rise out of anyone that disagreed with your preconceived notions.
But now, I think you really are stupid. You’ve drank so much of the Godless liberal Kool-aid that you are actually believing your own lies!
Your question attempts to set up a ’straw man argument’ that you can then tear down.
Nothing in the Kansas Statutes contain a ‘the-rapist-is-in-jail-in-Texas’ exclusion that allows Tiller to break the law. The abortion was done in Kansas. Tiller is licensed to practice in Kansas. Tiller, the Kansas abortionist, practicing in Kansas, under the laws and jurisdiction Kansas failed to report the abortion performed on a 10 year old girl in Kansas IAW the laws of Kansas where Kline, the Kansas AG had the responsibility and the jurisdiction to investigate suspected Kansas crimes and prosecute Kansas crimes. Tiller violated a Kansas Statute. The crime Kline is investigating was a Kansas committed crime.
Your question is crap.
nitwit
AG Kline had the following responsibilities in the same law:
(d) The attorney general shall adopt rules and regulations prescribing:
(1) The amount and type of fetal tissue to be preserved and submitted by a physician pursuant to this section;
(2) procedures for the proper preservation of such tissue for the purpose of DNA testing and examination;
(3) procedures for documenting the chain of custody of such tissue for use as evidence;

I’m wondering if Kline was himself in violation of the law.

I do. They taste better after freezing if they are allowed to dry first.

I LOVE roast duck. I guess it’s the time of the year to see if the stores around here have any domestic duck.

It was HELL finishing all those half empty bottles of port…
Oh, and I LOVE goose too. I like wild goose too, better than wild duck. My ex brother in law used to hunt wild goose, but he’s dead now.

I’d love some duck eggs Hank, but they would be rotten before I get to Wichita again!

I’m getting three or four a day, I always have a fresh supply.

And ya know, I’d prefer roast duck with port wine over the eggs!

Well, you never know. . .I use the ducks to train my dogs and accidents happen! I also have a few bottles of Sandeman in the ol’ wine cellar to help morn their passing!
I have tried fixing turkey every which way over the years.
Wrapping it in aluminum foil with holes poked through it and then grilling it over charcoal works well, and frees up the oven.
But the best way by far is to chop it up and slow cook it in a crock pot.
Fantastic.
I just got a nice sized bird the other day for under $9!! Gonna be FUN roasting that one next week…. I roast em slow….
BTW, once I tried grilling a goose over charcoal.
Thing is, geese have a lot of FAT, so everytime I opened the lid on the grill, there was a flame up that could be seen from space.
An experiment never to be repeated . . .

Will any of our absolutely gorgeous Canadian Geese friends here in the City be in any danger next week from anxious poachers?? The darn things get so tame down in the park, I dont know if they are smart enough to run away from a poacher, especially one that offers dried bread crumbs….
I have stayed away from wild geese and duck as they love sewage lagoons…
I just lose my appetite when I see that!
They seem smarter than that here… They hang around the river, and the parks… They know how to beg food… LOL
Geese have always amazed me. They fly together, eat together, and lounge together. But they are always squawking and bitching at each other!
Kinda like people.
The Canada Geese are federally protected and protected by international migratory bird treaties. Hands off!
That’s what I thought DavidB… but still wondered if any might possibly be in danger, given the upcoming Holiday season…

Kind of fun to shoot them and watch the crash into the water though.

Nothing like sharing a common drug experience to further some manly male bonding type stuff.
I should hope you dont shoot them in town, or anywhere else, since they are federally protected…
Chas,
There is a hunting season for Canada geese; in Kansas, it runs from early November through February. Of course, one must have the necessary license and permits to lawfully hunt.

Boeing to cut 800 Wichita jobs in 2009
BY MOLLY MCMILLIN
The Wichita Eagle
Wichita’s aviation industry took another hit Wednesday when Boeing said it would cut 800 jobs — about a quarter of its Wichita work force — in the first half of next year.
A handful of layoff notices will be issued Friday. The remainder will be distributed early in 2009.
Wednesday’s announcement was the third major layoff by a Wichita aviation company this month.
Hawker Beechcraft announced Nov. 3 that it was cutting about 490 jobs this month. Less than 10 days later, Cessna Aircraft said it would lay off 500 employees in early January.

Thank you AV for pointing Chas in the right direction.
I can’t believe what he dreams up.
So does it concern anyone else that the Hillary camp leaked her possible selection? IMO, it would seem a tactic to force Obama into a corner. Should that hold true, what else will she leak, should she get the SoS pick, to corner Obama.
Bill’s livelihood is now giving speeches and (mostly foreign) investment. Will there be conflicts of interest should Hillary get the SoS seat?

=============================================
Chas, you didn’t even notice.
Canada geese are protected by the United States Fish and
Wildlife Service under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 and
the Migratory Bird Conservation Act of 1929.
However, the Secretary of the Interior is also authorized to
legalize temporary hunting of migratory birds “based on due regard
to distribution, abundance, and breeding habits.”
States mayimplement additional laws that are tougher in enforcement.
Violations of this act constitute federal felonies and are subject
to fines and imprisonment.
From the looks of things, it would seem we have a couple of totally demented posters here who want to make folly of hymn singing, and the beauty of wild geese… I guess anti aircraft weapons are also protected by your god awful 2nd amendment, too, huh???
IDIOTS!!
Thank you davidB. I am well aware of the game laws, unlike some preachers.

“Proposition 8 Forces Focus On The Family Into Massive Layoffs
By Nicole Belle Thursday Nov 20, 2008 11:30am
Those darn gays and their desire to treated like any other American couple…they’ve forced James Dobson’s Focus on the Family to announce layoffs of approximately 20% of their work force, or 202 employees, due in no small part to the more than $500,000 spent on the Yes on 8 campaign. Colorado Independent:
Focus on the Family announced yesterday afternoon that 202 jobs will be cut companywide — an estimated 20 percent of its workforce. Initial reports bring the total number of remaining employees to around 950.
Focus on the Family is poised to announce major layoffs to its Colorado Springs-based ministry and media empire today. The cutbacks come just weeks after the group pumped more than half a million dollars into the successful effort to pass a gay-marriage ban in California.
Critics are holding up the layoffs, which come just two months after the organization’s last round of dismissals, as a sad commentary on the true priorities of the ministry.
“If I were their membership I would be appalled,” said Mark Lewis, a longtime Colorado Springs activist who helped organize a Proposition 8 protest in Colorado Springs on Saturday. “That [Focus on the Family] would spend any money on anything that’s obviously going to get blocked in the courts is just sad. [Prop. 8] is guaranteed to lose, in the long run it doesn’t have a chance — it’s just a waste of money.”
In all, Focus pumped $539,000 in cash and another $83,000 worth of non-monetary support into the measure to overturn a California Supreme Court ruling that allowed gays and lesbians to marry in that state. The group was the seventh-largest donor to the effort in the country. The cash contributions are equal to the salaries of 19 Coloradans earning the 2008 per capita income of $29,133.
In addition Elsa Prince, the auto parts heiress and longtime funder of conservative social causes who sits on the Focus on the Family board, contributed another $450,000 to Prop. 8.[..]”
Gee, and they dont even have a union…..
KFG — I thought there for a minute that your post was going to say that the 20% laid off turned out to be Gay!! Now THAT would be an even better headline!!!
I sure was glad to hear that lawyers have already filed briefs/motions, with the CA Supreme Court, to find Prop. 8 Unconstitutional, just like they did with their other ruling…
When will people ever learn that just because you vote for an Unconstitutional Law, that vote doesnt make it RIGHT… It just means that all of those who voted FOR Prop. 8 dont really believe in American principles!! LOL
Global warming predictions are overestimated, suggests study on black carbon
The findings are significant because soils are by far the world’s largest source of carbon dioxide, producing 10 times more carbon dioxide each year than all the carbon dioxide emissions from human activities combined. Small changes in how carbon emissions from soils are estimated, therefore, can have a large impact.

Gas is going to get cheaper though.(Only good news about it)
Oil is almost $50 per bbl and I’m still paying almost $2.00 per gallon for gas. WTF? When the price per bbl is even hinting at going up, the pump price goes up…
Thank Steven Davis for that sterling report. I’ll be sure to pass this along to the social editor Apathy Hugivashysz.
Sol,
The pertinent question to ask, IMHO, is what you were paying for a gallon of gas when the price of oil was last at $50/bbl.
Bout $1.50. But I guess the dollar was stronger then. Maybe that is it.
It could be, Sol; other areas of inquiry might include whether there was an intervening increase in the state gasoline tax, any changes in blending requirements due to the time of year, any ramp up in refining heating oil with a decrease in gasoline refining.
All that said, the pump price surely increases faster than it declines as oil price changes.
True dat.

So the forum knows? The blood feud between the Price family and mine goes back to the beginning of this blog and was started and is occasionally stoked by the Price’s, the elder one in particular.
Today we see a good example of how this usually happens.
I did not address Hank or his family. I did not even allude to them. But I DID post along with a running commentary that he didn’t like.
I said that attempts to ban abortion are now a lost cause.
Hank didn’t like that or the general direction of the conversation because in his heart he knows it is true. And, as he very much wants to tell other people how to live, he is very frustrated right now that that is just not gonna be how reality turns out.
All his wife’s and his money and his considerable reasons to be happy in life, and he still isn’t happy because the world doesn’t work according to Hank’s book.
SO, as is usually the case in this situation, he came after me. This time he included my son. This has been one of his more bizarre attacks. To suggest that a single parent switched from “pro life” to pro choice out of bitterness? And I have elsewhere posted that part of what changed my mind was the realization that parenthood is not something that you can just force on people.
This of course, does nothing to change the reality that Hank is frustrated and unhappy with. But for just a few minutes, it made Hank feel bigger, better, than he is.
To answer your question Hank?
The story of how I came to be a single dad is a long one. Parts of it are very painful for me. As you are a cold hearted (My Nathan’s addition), cruel, mean person who takes pleasure in the pain of others, I won’t be sharing any further information with you. Suffice it to say that what I know of you as a father and a person stacks up very poorly against me and what I have been through.
Until next time your small heart and mind sends you looking for lil’ ol’ me,
J
P.S. (from Nathan) “Jacka$$!”
And now the wonderful father BlueJay, who can’t even take care of his own son, decides to involve him on the blog and even to allow him to swear.
Yep, BlueJay, you just keep on proving what an absolute horrible father you are.
I mean really? How sad that you have to use your son on this blog to attack us.
Remember when you used him to attack my father and call him a liar a long while back?
Just sick and pathetic, that you have to resort to using your own son in such a way just to argue with someone on the blog.
What a sad loser you are.
The BlueJay motto:
“I am too good to say “yes sir” to provide for my son, but have no shame in saying “please sir” with my hand out so that someone else will provide for my son.”

Well since Obama won the election the stock markets are down 21%! TWENTY-ONE PERCENT LOSS!!!
Apparently those with money are taking it out now before Obama can get his greedy mits on it. Myself included. I’d rather suffer a loss, but incur capital gains now at a lower rate, than take a chance on change. Cupple this with the depression, and it is a fine time to remove oneself from the market.
Confidence in the president elect has clearly not made it to investor level. Still restricted to those at the lower end of the food chain, where excitement is buzzing about the new handouts.
Nathan
How was my question a “a logical fallacy”?

Sarah Palin pardoned the Alaska turkey.
And THEN did an interview in front of turkeys being very brutally slaughtered!
She has to be the dumbest politician in history!
Get in your regular nic and then come on back Jimmuh.

I wonder if Piper will get to see mommy on the news.

” they always have the answer.”
Well DavidB, that sounds an awful lot like Obama during the campaign. Didn’t he have all the answers?
Besides, you do know of course, that Rush is an entertainer. He isn’t a reporter. He is a radio talk show host.
Thank you Obama for the low gas prices.
Yes thank-you Obama for destroying the stock market.
Since Obama won the election the stock markets are down 21%! TWENTY-ONE PERCENT LOSS!!!
Ya gotta take the bad with the good there bb.
It appears to me that the market is being manipulated. Note the pattern. It holds for a while, then drops off at the end of the day. This has happened time and time again. You can buy a lot of solid companies now, with dividend rates of over 10 percent. As I’ve said before, I’m scrapping every cent I’ve got together and throwing it at the market. I’ll be rich or broke.
When the panic ends and the investigations start, a lot of people are going to be doing hard time; that is if the new Obama adminstration is not as corrupt as the Bush administration. I wouldn’t bet either way.
Still looking for text of Palin’s turkey pardon.
I understand it was quite the ramble.
Her IQ and vocabulary seem to have taken a serious hit since she lost the McCain handlers.
The gory turkey slaughter as Sarah speaks in the foreground was on the closing minutes of “Countdown” I warn in advance. This video is NOT for children or the faint hearted. I think I’ll have jello for Thanksgiving.
Another point. People aren’t taking their money out of the market. A stock can’t be sold unless someone buys it. For every dime taken out, a dime goes in. And volumn is low.
Yeah Junior, you are so superior to Palin…
You have a degree…oops you don’t…
You have a well respected nuclear family, oops my bad, you don’t…
You have stuff like airplanes, several cars, a fishing business, dang… I’m wrong again…
You have have successfully ran for political office and been voted in by your peers…oops nope nope…
Hmmm, I can’t find any thing here Junior, just exactly what are you using for comparison regarding superiority?
Perhaps it’s that comic gray matter you happen to form between your ears that is composed of hotdog particles, cigarettes and beer.
Maybe I should run for office there “Regular”.
Hell, maybe even you should.
If Palin can be seen as credible in anything but a swimsuit and sash, anybody can run for office.

I’ve sold 3/4 of my stock too for the same reason. You have to be an idiot not to cash out now!
Obama is bringing frickin C H A N G E alright, and the investors can clearly see the Socialist change that will Raise Taxes, Raise Spending, and continue the Nationalization of Private Industry.
When investors see a Facist coming into power, they cash out.
Duh.
As for the oil/gas prices dropping like a rock, THE ENTIRE WORLD can see the impact of Obamination and Socialism on America. Global Demand of products will drop as wealth is confiscated and re-distributed by the Obama Facists.
The Entire Frickin World sees Global Economic Collapse coming now that Obama is in power.
As for gaining worldwide respect, Obama has really gained that from Al Queda for sure:
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2008413083_qaida20.html
Obama called a “house negro”.
Lotsa respect (and fear) in that remark.

Another point. People aren’t taking their money out of the market. A stock can’t be sold unless someone buys it. For every dime taken out, a dime goes in. And volumn is low.
I don’t know today’s volumn of 9,093,740,000 looks high to me.

Great advice. That’s why the market is rising so fast right now. (cough)
And this advise comes from the guy who says Goose Hunting has been banned.
Re: Jim Johnson

If Obama doesn’t get out front with a message that taxes will not be raising. That 401k plans are safe. That he has found a treasury secretary that has expertise in turning a bad economy around then the ride down will continue.
Stock prices are approaching the 20% range drop since the election. Obama sent out signals and the market didn’t like it.
As I said before the election when the dems were gushing over raising taxes on the ‘rich’. They don’t need us nearly as much as we need them and thier money. We need them to invest in industry, in manufacturing, in expansion, in research, etc… These posters that say let them run – not me.
Well I will just say that everyone will suffer if this the bleeding doesn’t stop but the weakest among us will suffer most when the big money people take their money and leave.
The alternative: well, if the great companies all fail, or most of them fail, is — what? The new Dark Ages? The Age of Crafts and Communes? If it turns out to be the latter, I’ve gotten real good at building racks for 33 1/3 rpm records. I’ll trade you one for ten pounds of pinto beans.
The weakest among us won’t know the difference, ok.
And a funny thing. Just went through Houston. Help wanted signs on every Taquaria door in the town.
“the weakest among us will suffer most when the big money people take their money and leave.”
Trimming dead branches helps new branches to grow.
Let the rich take their money and run. Capitalism, as nature, abhors a vacuum.
“If Obama doesn’t get out front with a message that taxes will not be raising.”
FYI, the agenda at change.gov has been replaced. Taxes read about the same as before.
LOL, Canada Geese are a federally and internationally protected species, as I said before.
I’ll buy great technology company stock while it is 50% off and you buy Tupperware to bury your guns in…. Whahahah!!!!!!
For those who missed it.. the Bush Walk of Shame… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6Y_ncOVlDw
“Trimming dead branches helps new branches to grow.”
Are you saying if the money is taken away everything will be fine?
The rich are buying, I’d wager, B.J.
Hud what you say is true to a fault. Some one might buy your GM stock for $2 but since the seller bought it at $50 the market just keeps falling.
That would be DavidB buying.
Trust me DavidB you don’t want to be holding their stock if they fill reorganization. I can tell you that from personal experience.
When Sunbeam did that we were left holding worthless stock because new stock was issued for the new ‘holding company’.
Sunbeam was a very old company with great potential and market recognition. Why did it fail?
Morgan Helped Sunbeam Inflate Its Finances, Judge Rules
March 24, 2005 in print edition C-4
“Morgan Stanley suffered a setback in a Florida court Wednesday when a judge ruled that the bank helped Sunbeam Corp. improperly inflate its financial condition as it pursued a takeover of Coleman Co. in 1998″
http://articles.latimes.com/2005/mar/24/business/fi-morgan24
And still we didn’t learn. Hearings over fannie and freddie brought no reform. McCains letter in 2006 fell on deaf ears. Why in the world do we think the government will do anything wise now.

National History Museum Reopens
Flag from Ft McHenry is the Centerpiece!
COURSE those like BJ are chomping at the bit to go to the museum and burn the very flag that inspired “The Star Spangled Banner”.
Just like BJ/JR burned his own flag, in front of his son.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Star-Spangled Banner is so threadbare you can see through tattered sections of its broad stripes and bright stars to the table where it rests at the overhauled National Museum of American History opening this week.
The museum, which draws millions of visitors, has been closed for more than two years for an $85 million facelift. It will reopen to the public Friday with a three-day festival.
Once overlooked by some visitors as it hung near the museum entrance, the nearly 200-year-old flag that inspired the words of the national anthem is now the centerpiece of the reinvented museum. The flag gallery’s carefully controlled climate will help preserve the fragile fabric that has deteriorated over time.
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who often speaks about the 1814 British attack on Baltimore’s Fort McHenry when Francis Scott Key penned “The Star-Spangled Banner,” said he got teary seeing the new flag display. He spoke of the flag as if it were an old friend.
“My mom used to bring me down here as a little boy when she hung in the entrance to this museum,” O’Malley said as he gazed at the 30-by-34 foot flag. “One could almost sit here for hours just staring at this magnificent icon of American triumph through great adversity.”
At a rededication ceremony for the 44-year-old museum Wednesday, President George W. Bush urged all Americans to visit the museum, which he called a “fantastic place of learning.”
Clear patter there David,
1)Deny your ignorance of Goose Hunting
2)Attack Bush
You’ve done that twice now today.
I just bought a whole bunch of Ford. I think they’re in the best postion to survive. I mean a whole bunch doesn’t cost much now, does it? I wouldn’t call this an investment. It was a pure gamble, but the money odds are great. What if Ford is the lone survivor? Probably, they’d end up specializing in light trucks. The nation still needs a bunch of them. If the nation doesn’t, you gun buyers and ammo horders will do better than me until the food runs out.
btw: I’m up ten percent already. Hey, this is fun, gambling with my future and my families future. Get a load of Citibank. I’ve lost a whole wad on ING. I’ve taken a beating on AES, but guess what. Three of my stocks are actually in the GREEN.
I have an Obama Art Poster I made, it’s free if anybody wants it, I’d like to share it. Just write me and ask for it, and I’ll send it to you.

Correct. It was a good year for geese. They’re like the world’s biggest flying rat.
There’s geese on every pond from Kansas to the tip of texas.
Interesting.

LOL, I am buy technology. GM is not a techology company. heehee That would not be me buying GM.
You are right, I am sure. The sky is falling, the sky is falling.
But a new approach by the great team President-Elect Obama is building will begin to pull us out of this mess. Have no fear. We may not have seen the worst of this downturn, but the market has always come back. And those who bought or held do well.
The fear-filled lemmings are only making my next stock purchase more affordable.
I’ve been to Ft McHenry. Very impressive site.
It was right after 9/11 when I went there. Ft McHenry is a reminder that:
1)America has been attacked before, and we will be a target in the future.
2)Therefore America must remain strong.
3)The bravery of those men at Ft McHenry was amazing. And brave men still defend America today.
4)We should never forget the 1st Priority of Government is to maintain a Strong National Defense.
unless, mr. David, we are really shifting to something completely different, then who held or who sold won’t matter, will it?
I’m not talking about Obama, either.
Blaidd_Drwg69,
It is a loaded question.
Just google “federal protection of canada geese.” Sheesh.
Here’s info from Illinois: http://web.extension.uiuc.edu/wildlife/permit_canada_geese.cfm

Hello world.
After the big three bailout/buyout, which industry comes next? Which industry is next in line in campaign donations, and buying influence?
Hell, the gubermint can just print out somemore of dat der money and throw it at em all.
The domino’s are all falling.
We are watching them fall one by one. Historically, if you survive, it is something to tell your grandchildren about.

Their fantasy just cannot be broken by the election.

Just remember — All of this is happening BEFORE Obama takes office… So how much of this crap is Bush trying to set up Obama’s new Administration before the fact?? Hmmmm??

Everything is Bush’s fault.

So how much of this crap……
Sorry, Bush isn’t twisting investors arms behind their backs and forcing them to SELL.
The stock market is strictly a measure of confidence or fear.
What do investors fear most?
It ain’t Bush.
Bailout: Maybe giving them loans. Maybe flat our paying the high union salaries to the tune of 25 billion dollars.
Buyout: Government purchase of stock (preferred or otherwise) in private corporations.
Take you pick: Both parties are party to either solution. The union AND the corporations have been buying our politicians for decades.
Oh wow.
The NBC crew that took the footage of Palin in front of turkeys being slaughtered asked her if she was ok with the background.
She said she didn’t have a problem with it.
Pwned, to play to her base. She has no political future.
So, Jimmie, looks like Rhonda must be YOUR girl friend… You better look after that problem….
