Late-night comics will miss Bush

“And people were worried about the Bradley effect. Apparently, it was not nearly as strong as the Bush effect.” — Jay Leno

“Ladies and gentlemen, Barack Obama is our new president. And I think I speak for most Americans when I say, anybody mind if he starts a little early?” — David Letterman

“Hey if you think about it, President Bush is at least partially responsible for us having our first black president, so never let it be said he didn’t accomplish anything. Maybe George Bush doesn’t hate black people after all.” — Jimmy Kimmel

“Barack Obama spent his first day as president-elect putting together his transition team. And if you believe MSNBC, by tomorrow he will have chosen all 12 of his disciples.” — Jay Leno

“At the end of the evening, the electoral vote count was 349 for Obama, 148 for McCain. Or, as Fox News says, too close to call.” — David Letterman

“Who are the real winners in this election? Don’t ask me. Ask Joe the Plumber’s agent.” — Stephen Colbert

“Barack Obama promised a new America in which the powerless will have a voice. So, he’s already reaching out to Republicans.” — Jay Leno

Typical liberal media bias. Leno, Letterman and others have never had nice things to say about Bush or any other conservative. Hope you fold.

Biden will provide plenty of talk show material. It was not widely reported, but a a rally he asked a guy to stand up and be recognized, continued to prod, asked again, only to be told the guy was in a wheel chair!!!

Since the typical neo-con media bias, Rush, Coulter, O’Rielly and others, have never had nice things to say about Obama, or any other Liberal, I would call that tit for tat. Could that be called an marketed fairness doctrine?

Remember when this same statement was made about Clinton? We wondered aloud what the late-night comics would use as fodder. I don’t remember Clinton jokes ever stopping, although bush shared the spotlight, even taking over the show when he was especially laughable. President Obama is a human and I’m sure will provide some material for laughter.

True, but I don’t think he’ll ever be able to top “I know how hard it is to put food on your family”!

This was reported and video was shown. How is Joe Biden to know if someone in the crowd is in a wheelchair? Perhaps he was never told prior to going up to the microphone. When Biden realized it, he did go down to the guy and personally apologized.

In the McCain and Palin rallies, they both incited their supporters with chants of the un-American, terrorist loving, Muslim. To be fair, McCain did finally try to stop his supporters from all their hateful chants after the media picked up on the hateful tone of their rallies. But Palin kept on going with her inciteful hate speech.

If Ted Stevens does not get to keep his Senate seat now that he is convicted, Sarah Palin may just get to appoint herself as his replacement.

With Sarah Palin in the Senate, the late-night comics will have all the material they need. As Tina Fey said this week – all her skits came directly from Palin’s own words. The SNL writers only had to get the transcripts and go from there.

Maybe SNL should hire Palin as a writer.

You think so? Are the comic writers above writing jokes about Obama?

The media is really going to be in turmoil trying to figure out out to paint everything rosy and portray Utopia under Obama. Their alternative is to be painted with the Obama Administrations scarlet letter and suffer banishment.

    Mom,

It was not just someone in the crowd, it was a Senator from Missouri. I’m saying there will be plenty of gaffes without Bush. Obama is a very good scripted speaker, but when off script, he too sometimes stumbles. All I’m saying is there will be plenty of material.

The election is over, I don’t really give a sh*t about who did what a which rallies.

Inferior – you obviously failed to note how much the comics savaged Bill Clinton. They are equal opportunity jokesters.

Mom I didn’t make an issue of it because politicians have long days and little rest – but do you think Obama really thinks we have 57 states?

I think like it or not both parties make enough bloopers to keep us all in stitches.

Rage mothers do this all of the time. In fact my 14 year old grandson convinced his 10 year old sister that he could see the fries she wants to eat everyday. He told her she might as well just get a spatula and smear them on her body.

I of course assured her that she wasn’t close to being overweight. I also explained to her brother how eating disorders are born.

So yes if they are good cooks, moms can put food on their families.
