Rep. Nancy Boyda (in photo), D-Topeka, shouldn’t have told the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee last summer to “get the heck out of my race.” Boyda was unseated Tuesday by state Treasurer Lynn Jenkins, whose credentials as a certified public accountant may have fit the times in voters’ minds. The Kansas 2nd Congressional District race was a rare bright spot for the GOP, one of only four House districts in the nation in which Republicans ousted first-term Democrats. But Boyda’s loss will allow Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to appoint a Democrat to fill out the two years of Jenkins’ term as state treasurer.

Let’s hope that Jenkins maintains her moderate positions and doesn’t succumb to the influence of the far right.
Yeah, Boyda.
Turn your back on the party and guess what, we turn your back on you.
She’s the face of what’s wrong with the Democratic party in Kansas–self-loathing progressives.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
KomradeKapn, per usual, spewing his hate.
Nancy Boyda represented all Kansans extremely well. She stood up for what she felt was right for all of us. It’s unfortunate that both parties can’t accept a true leader.
She will be sorely missed!!!!
This state will elect a Dem as Gov, but when it comes to other positions, it’s all Republican.
The Kansas Democrats need to form a plan to add more Dem’s to voter rolls and to find good, solid candidates in 2 years. Then build on the success of 2010 to turn Kansas Blue in 2012.
The One has called while you were out, Kathleen.
Says this is our new State Treasurer:

Boyda wont even be missed, much less sorely missed. She was totally republican in her positions. So… if a republican is what is wanted, it’s no surprise they elected a REAL republican, not the fake one.
Buh-bye.
I wonder if Kelly remembers our bet? I’ll ask Tom to let me know when Kelly pays off and makes a fifty dollar donation to the Kansas Equality Coalition.
