Boyda blames loss on power of negativity

Rep. Nancy Boyda, D-Topeka, is rightly frustrated about all the negative advertising used against her, but she seems to be blaming everyone other than herself for her defeat. She told the Topeka Capital-Journal that her loss to Lynn Jenkins “will be the nationwide case history for why there has to be mudslinging, and the more the better.” Boyda said she deliberately didn’t run any attack ads – even though she had material to do so, including about Jenkins’ marital problems. But Boyda complained that she was the target of radio and television ads and automated telephone calls that made false claims about her. And she faulted voters who “knew that Lynn Jenkins wasn’t telling the truth,” yet voted for Jenkins anyway. “What this race has proven,” she said, “is that if you want to win, you need to tell a bunch of lies about your opponent over and over and over again and get as many third-party outside groups, from outside Kansas, to do the same thing.”

No, why Boyda lost was because she disappointed her voter base and knowing that she had to run a more effective campaign in Kansas, dropped the ball big time.

If Boyda knew that Jenkins was having an affair she should have said something.

Boyda lost because voters didnt even like her the first time they cast their ballots for her. They just hated ryun more.

SHE lied to gay people in both of her first runs, didnt keep her promises, ran to the right, dissed her party, and generally was a horses ass.

And now she whines about jenkins? heheh. AHAHAHAHAHAH.

I wonder if Kelly remembers our bet? That he would donate at least $50 to KEC if boyda lost?

I’ll have to call Tom and see if he made the donation.

    Exactly, KSFrmGrrl!

Boyda lost because voters figured if they have to choose between a fake moderate Republican (Boyda) and a real one (Jenkins), they should go with the real one.

Boyda’s first utterance on a national stage — NBC news IIRC — was that she would never oppose Bush’s war.

I’m sitting there thinking, with friends like these, who needs enemas?

Typical “Christian” Republican. No interest in issues, only mud. I salute Boyda for not doing it.

I predicted early that Jenkins would win – as a moderate Republican in a Republican district she should be a shoo-in.
