Slattery ad wins bronze among worst

More infamy for the “Hosed” campaign ad run by Democrat Jim Slattery against Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan. It came in at No. 3 among Politico’s “Ten worst ads of the season,” having been deemed preferable only to an ad in which an Alaska Democrat shows herself scooping up dog doo and an Illinois Democrat’s remake of LBJ’s “Daisy” ad. Of the “Hosed” commercial’s depiction of a gleeful giant CEO type seemingly relieving himself on voters, Politico asked: “Is it a coincidence that the man holding the hose looks like Roberts?”

Worst because it was accurate? Right, I suppose ads are supposed to portray something other than the rich pissing on the people.

“Ten worst ads of the season,”

And the top two also won by Democrats.
Is there a tend we should be looking at here.

Obama Bombshell Redistribution of Wealth Audio Uncovered!!!!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivL4c_3pck

He out and out calls for ‘administrative legislative redistribution of wealth’!!!

He said and elaborated on it.

He is a socialist/communist in pure form.

I had every intention of voting for Slattery until I saw that ad and heard his voice ‘approving’ it. If he can approve a juvenile, batrhoom humor ad in a run for the US Senate, I do not believe he is the right person. It was tasteless, vulgar and in very poor taste.

He lost my vote over that one.

    Yeah, “Raptor” –

I have every reason to believe you were strong for Slattery until you saw a television commercial.

Whatever happened to all you principled CONs who claim to be unaffected by advertising of any kind?

mh….call me a liar all you want, and it will not change a thing. I have my own reasons for not voting for Roberts (and I didn’t vote for him). But the tasteless nature of that ad says a lot about the person that approved it.

You are way off base in assuming I was ’strong for Lattery”. Where did I say that? Casting a vote for someone doesn’t mean I love the guy. My intent to vote for Slattery was based on my dislike for Roberts.

    “Raptor” –

Your original post didn’t say were were all set to vote against Roberts.

You wrote: “I had every intention of voting for Slattery until I saw…” a silly television commercial.

Participants of this forum know your political leanings pretty well. Your self-righteous priggishness and your vulnerability to being swayed by a 30-second commercial makes your original premise — that you had “…every intention of voting FOR Slattery…” doesn’t ring true. Or it shows that deep down you’re shallow.

I was shocked by the commercial but it certainly rings true.

Roberts’ job is the toe the Republican party line and protect and increase the wealth of the 200 families that control 99% of America’s wealth.

So yeah, he’s peeing on the rest of us.

Haven’t seen the commercial, but it might have been more symbolic if they had the people below dodging boulders from the sky, and Roberts taking a squat up above.

After a quick count of the entire list of “winners”, the tally comes in at Republicans=6, Democrats=4. Maybe next time the Dems can work a little nastier and bring it to an even tie.

Figures a “10 worst” of the season ad would sway some people to vote FOR the person that approved it. Gives you a mindset of these voters, doesn’t it? Go for the slime, the muck and the garbage.

“Franklin” reports from around the bend –

    “Obama is a Communist.
    There is no other word….”

    Glad to hear it.

Since “there is no other word…” I presume you now renounce and retract all the other words you’ve used in your anti-Obama slimefests.

That means we won’t have to read your blatherings about “Musilm” or “terrorist” or “non-citizen” or “44% Arab” and “baby-killer” and “traitor” and “Manson Family member” and all those other words you’ve used.

    I appreciate that.

“Obama is a Communist,” you say. “There is no other word.

And, as I’m sure you are an honorable person, you will cease using other words in your WE Blog contributions regarding the presidential election.

    Simply post:

    “Communist!
    Communist!
    Communist!
    Communist!
    Communist!
    Communist!
    Communist!….”

You will make your case just as effectively as any other argument you bring here, it’ll a lot of reading, and you might even get a cracker.

Why don’t YOU try and make the argument that Obama is NOT a Communist, based on what Obama said on that radio show.
    Can you do that?
I have been trying to be nice, calling Obama a Socialist with sympathies for radical Islam and Black Liberation Theology.
But, the fact is, Obama thinks that our Constitution is “flawed” and that the Courts SHOULD be involved in “redistribution” issues. Obama thinks it is a bad thing that our Constitution PREVENTS such Socialism and Communism!

And, try to be honest, Monkey.
I never said that Obama was Muslim, today.
I did say, factually, that Obama was enrolled in school as a Muslim, and that Obama went to Muslim services with his step father, while in Jakarta.
I never said that Obama “was” Arab. Obviously, Obama is at least 50% Caucasian.
Also, obviously, Obama has a great deal more Arab heritage than he wants to advertise.
Obama has made race and heritage an issue.

We can get into some hair splitting if you wish.
However, the public sees little difference between Communism and Marxist/Socialism.
Karl Marx, himself, saw Socialism as a midway point between Capitalism and Communism.

However, taking you up on your point:

Monkey, prove to us, based on what Obama said, in his own words, that Obama is NOT a Marxist/Socialist, would you?

    Obama is a Liar.
Obama claims that he was “never” a Muslim.
    This is clearly not true.
Obama WAS a Muslim, when he was a child.
However, I accept Obama’s statement that he is a Christian, today.
Also, I have NEVER said that Obama IS currently a Muslim.
Monkey is wrong when he says otherwise.
You, Ben, are simply playing word games.

You said there was only one word you needed:

    “Communist!
    Communist!
    Communist!
    Communist!
    Communist!
    Communist!
    Communist!

Obama sounds to me like someone who’s read The Acts of the Apostles. But wait a minute; that’s Christian isn’t it?

“I never said that Obama was Muslim, today.”

Well, then. If you didn’t say it “today” it doesn’t count, huh?
