Here is a sample of the questions that Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen would like to ask John McCain and Barack Obama at tonight’s final presidential debate:
Sen. McCain, I’d like to ask you why you’ve attacked Sen. Obama for associating with the former domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, even though you have befriended G. Gordon Liddy, who was jailed for what amounts to subversion of the Constitution. Liddy also once told his radio listeners to deal with agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms by shooting them – “a head shot,” he recommended. What’s the difference between Liddy and Ayers? Take as much time as you want.
Sen. Obama, did you ever tell Bill Ayers to his face that what he did was wrong?
Sen. McCain, what lessons should we have learned from the Iraq war? Should it have been fought? Should we have stuck to Afghanistan? What are our limits as a great power?
Sen. Obama, if your plan for troop withdrawal in Iraq had been adopted, the U.S. troops would now be almost out of the country. That being the case, what do you think we’d have there now? Civil war? A peaceful country? An Islamic republic next door in Jordan?
Sen. McCain, do you ever wake up in the middle of the night and wonder if history will forgive you for Sarah Palin?
Sen. Obama, do you ever wake up in the middle of night for anything?

Brother, can you spare a dime?
Why the hell would you want this job?
“Sen. McCain, do you ever wake up in the middle of the night and wonder if history will forgive you for Sarah Palin?”
Forgive him for what?
“Sen. McCain, does fleettwood make much noise after you tell him to grab his ankles?”
To compare Liddy with Ayers is just idiotic. They aren’t even in the same ballpark. Liddy: burglar, wire tapper. Ayers: bomber and terrorist.
Sarah Palin is a future star. In fact, she may already be a star. She has the liberals/socialists scared of her and working every day to try to discredit her. Ergo, she’s a winner.
She will likely be the first female POTUS.
Mr Hussein, you have been spouting off about the tax cuts you will implement if you become president. Since you have been a US senator, how many bills (and name them) have you sponsored that have any type of tax relief for middle class Americans?
“Sarah Palin is a future star. In fact, she may already be a star. She has the liberals/socialists scared of her and working every day to try to discredit her. Ergo, she’s a winner.

Above from KSGolfnut is a perfect example of the “dumbing down” of the Republican Party. The majority of Americans recognize the need of intelligence, especially in our leaders. There should be fear that mediocrity is the best a major party can achieve. An op-ed piece from today’s paper talks about it too.
———
DAVID BROOKS: GOP, PALIN PLAY CLASS- WARFARE CARD
Modern conservatism began as a movement of dissident intellectuals. Richard Weaver wrote a book called “Ideas Have Consequences.” Russell Kirk placed Edmund Burke in an American context. William F. Buckley’s entire life was a celebration of urbane values, sophistication and the rigorous and constant application of intellect.
What had been a disdain for liberal intellectuals slipped into a disdain for the educated class as a whole.
Republicans developed their own leadership style. If Democratic leaders prized deliberation and self-examination, then Republicans would govern from the gut.
No American politician plays the class-warfare card as constantly as Palin. Nobody so relentlessly divides the world between the “normal Joe Six-Pack American” and the coastal elite.
She is another step in the Republican change of personality. Once conservatives admired Churchill and Lincoln above all — men from wildly different backgrounds who prepared for leadership through constant reading, historical understanding and sophisticated thinking. Now those attributes bow down before the common touch.
And so, politically, the GOP is squeezed at both ends. The party is losing the working class by sins of omission — because it has not developed policies to address economic anxiety. It has lost the educated class by sins of commission — by telling members of that class to go away.

Mr. Hussein?
heheheh.
I guess, when you dont have anything of substance, you can always lie about someone’s name.
Even littlejohn called out biassed yesterday. The CONS dont even approve of the biased one’s nutcase screeds.
It is amusing though, and further makes Linda’s point about the dumbing down of America.
lindastinks55-
So what is your question? Is there not a Palin bashing post?
ksfrmgrrlmuncher- I guess, when you dont have anything of substance, you can always lie about someone’s name.
————————————-
So I guess Mr. Hussein won’t be answering that question. Do you already know the answer muncher, or is there not enough “substance” in it.
I wonder if biassed’s mommy knows he plays on the computer all day.
Carry on. You are the best tool obama has…
Why would I answer a question addressed to a mr. hussein? And why would obama answer such a question?
Perhaps you should find someone actually named mr. hussein to answer the question addressed to him.
November 5 is gonna be so much fun.
In case you missed it yesterday, the Rude One hit the nail squarely on the head about why the republicans are working their way through the five stages of grief, including extreme anger.
They’ll do just about anything to deny and avoid the pain of the repudiation by the voters in three weeks.
I guess, like children, if they think they spew and cry and throw a big enough tantrum, the grownups will give them their way?
heheheheh.
Rude language, but incredible truth. Bias probably cant read it though, since hopefully, his mommy has the filters on.

Mr Obama,
When does Life begin?
ksfrmgrrlicker- And why would obama answer such a question?
————————————–
No need to I guess, who would want to answer a legitimate question? Maybe an HONEST person? Which Hussein is not.
we don’t need no stinking answers!

Biased, real slow for ya now…
When you address a question to Mr. Obama, he might answer. If you address a question to Mr. Hussein, why would Obama answer?
Or anyone else, for that matter?
Please keep it up. Obama needs the votes!
G Gordon Liddy, the republican operative who went to jail for burglarizing the Democratic National Headquarters, has done more to subvert democracy than anything Ayers has ever dreamed of.
And btw, Liddy was convicted of a crime. Ayers? Not so much.
Notice how even the courts dont matter to republicans when their “above the law” guys are involved?

Mr Obama,
When does Life begin?
————————————-
Funny, here is how the One answered that question.
First he said the answer was above his pay grade.
Then a week later he said he wasn’t going to get into a “theological debate.”
Why do libtards believe “science” about global warming, but not about when life begins?
Consider the costs…
* $4,681 per household.
* $1,721 per person.
* $341.4 million per day.
One thing americans do not seem to comprehend is the amount of money being spent on the mideast invasion. It is my assertion that other nations are very much concerned as to how the USA spends its’ money in ways that do not invest only create liability. Yes the rest of the world is very much aware that spending $341,400,000 a day on a money hole is not fiscally responsible. Wonder why the rest of the world has no faith?
Face it war is not investing. The world is now hearing that our politicans want to expand the war back into Afghanistan plus Pakistan. Is there no end? Where is the money?
The USA is spending $341,400,000 a day on war when our economy has been going downhill. This is really quite stupid.
Help for Main Street, Reform for Wallstreet
The Magnitude and Meaning of the Proposed Bailout:
What $700 Billion for Wall Street means on Main Street
NPP Provides Analysis of $700 Billion for Taxpayers
The plan proposed by President Bush and Secretary Paulson for a $700 billion bailout of Wall Street is difficult for most people to comprehend. At NPP, we’ve been crunching the numbers and offer this analysis of what $700 billion means to taxpayers.
A healthy and productive economy requires substantial investment in affordable housing, health care, education and renewable energy. Taxpayers in the United States will be required to pay $700 billion for the Wall Street bailout. They should also know that for the same amount of money, they could secure the following:
*51.6 million people with health care for four years OR
*181.2 million homes with renewable electricity for four years OR
*2.9 million elementary school teachers for four years OR
*27 million four-year scholarships for university students
$700 billion is more than what is currently allocated for the U.S. war in Iraq. This amount would allow us to repair all of our nations 77,000 deteriorated bridges and still have $519 billion to spend; or it would allow us to rebuild all of our nations 33,000 deteriorating schools and still have $664 billion to spend.

muncher- address a question to Mr. Hussein, why would Obama answer?
———————————–
uh, cuz that’s his name?
WASHINGTON – You won’t find it in his campaign ads, but Barack Obama let slip his plans to become a modern-day Robin Hood in the White House, confiscating money from the rich to give to the poor.
Conservatives yesterday ripped Obama after he was caught on video telling an Ohio plumber that he intends to take the profits of small-business owners and “spread the wealth around” to those with lesser incomes.
“Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn’t it?” the blue-collar worker asked.
After Obama responded that it would, Wurzelbacher continued: “I’ve worked hard . . . I work 10 to 12 hours a day and I’m buying this company and I’m going to continue working that way. I’m getting taxed more and more while fulfilling the American Dream.”
“My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”
“It’s clear that his main goal is redistribution of wealth, not growth,” said Andy Roth with the anti-tax group Club for Growth. “He’s perfectly happy to destroy wealth as long as he can redistribute it.”
Obama has been meticulous, Roth said, to conceal the “socialistic” nature of his tax plans. “But every once in a while, he lets it slip,” he said.
“This explains how Senator Obama can promise an income-tax cut for millions who aren’t even paying income taxes right now”.

We know Muslim Obama will win tonight the lib News Media will make it so. Go McCain, messiah Obama has a lot of baggage to account for in his short political life, don’t forget Acorn and the Iraq War. We are not even sure O was born in Hawaii, it could be in Kenya.
His name is Mr. Obama.
Show’s how stupid you are. Or juvenile.
Like I said, I bet his mommy has the filters on.

Liddy was convicted of a crime yet he is above the law at the same time? Furthermore, Ayers was NOT convicted of a crime even though he freely admits to bombing the places that were bombed.
Who is “above the law” in this comparison??????

The acorns and other assorted nuts are out in force today. I hope they don’t all crack come Nov 5. If they do, no great loss.
I cant wait for mcsame to bring up ayers, acorn, and the obama-is-a-muslim meme.
‘Cause ya know, the voters are responding so well to them…
When some tool yells, “Terrorist” or some such spit while McCain is yammering on or when Sarah Palin is saying some stupid ass thing she doesn’t understand, it’s because that person can’t face the truth. It’s easier to make Barack Obama and vaguely defined “liberals” and “Democrats” into the villains than the people who keep telling them, “No, no, all evidence to the contrary, that dude in your bed’s a great guy and everyone else is just trying to dick you over.”
Heh mxyzptlk. Ya know they didnt read the post. Too bad, they missed a good laugh at their own expense.
Ayers from a long time ago yet has become quite a productive citizen vs Al Qaeda hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
As one Pennsylvania woman put it ” Why is McCain wasting time on Ayers when actual terrorists are in the mideast” McCain lost that republican vote.
13 conservative republican in laws in Pennsylvania are voting Obama. They are deeply disturbed about the direction the repub party has chosen over the last 30 years. This past 8 years is all they could handle. In 2004 my father and mother in law voted Kerry. This time around all in laws are voting Obama. Believe me this is an earth shattering event. Voting party line is no longer acceptable.
Questions for McCain:
Did you really intend to campaign only for the fringe rightwing crazy vote? The conservative
middle is moving away from you, was that your intention when you picked a brainless twit for a running mate?
They can read?
When does Life begin?
The answer to that should be “whenever each person believes it begins.”
Go ahead. Rant. But any answer other than that would be legislating faith. Even in a group of 3-5 of the same religion, same sect/branch, there will be one who doesn’t completely agree with the others. In 300 million, imagine how many different answers there would be. And you want to legislate it? Good luck with that one.
That’s so funny. Liddy, the guy convicted of a crime, is a better person than ayers, who was never convicted of a crime?
heheh. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
Ya. You betchya.
Waiting for a post criticizing the courts in 3..2..1..
Deal with it. Your guy, (or should I say mcsame’s guy?) is convicted criminal.
Ayers is not.
Spin on guys, spin on.
“They can read?”
HAHAHAHAHA.
Yeah. They dont like to admit it, because then, they might be held accountable for posting the nonsense they post.
Better to appear to just appear willfully stupid that to confirm it.
Although, the voters do seem to be catching on, even as their denials become louder and more shrill.
msyzpryk- or when Sarah Palin is saying some stupid ass thing she doesn’t understand.

biased – The difference between Obama and Palin is that Obama KNOWS when he makes a mistake, Palin is utterly clueless. Or have you REALLY not noticed that she so dumb she makes rocks look bright?

Can we use the same premise for when life ends?
“Fear” and “Terrorist!” worked for Bush. Now McCain and Palin think it will work for them? Losers.
Can we use the same premise for when life ends?
It already is.
They said that her stupidness was an act to fool her opponents. The debate was ok but when you look back and watch it again, you realize that she could not go beyond a few answers and talking points she had memorized.
She truly is clueless.
What do you think , Mr. Obama about the shameful sexist treatment of Sarah Palin by the left wing loonies who constitute your base?

typical libtard.
The movie “psycho” was NOT a documentary.
“Why do libtards believe “science” about global warming, but not about when life begins?”
Can you formulate a scientific prediction based on when life begins? No? Then it is not a scientific question.
In Saudi Arabia, after the first trimester the fetus becomes “legally ensouled” as per religious law. Is that what you are driving at? How do you feel about the “science” they teach in Saudi madrassas?

Read an article today says “Mccain must rattle Obama at tonight’s debate” Good luck with that!
Here’s a couple questions: Sen. Mccain do you believe as does your v.p. in the Ally OOp scenario of evolution (that one will firm up his base).
Sen. Mccain, Why were you the keynote speaker at ACORN in 2006, and today you thing they are trying to subvert the American system?
A vote for Obama is a vote to drive our economy into further ruin.
Biased, go play in traffic until your mommy gets home.

I’m a real “legand” I guess.
Au contraire, LindaLinks.
Gov Palin doesn’t speak like she’s been in the Senate for 35 years – or like that of a community organizer who sat in the pews of an American-hating church for 20 years.
She speaks like an everyday American.
And the socialists HATE her because she has the moxie to take on anyone (including her own party) who is standing contrary to what is best for her state/country. And they can’t win the debate on the issues, so the only suitable response is to question her intellect – simply because she doesn’t talk like a lawyer.
I suggest to you that the “dumbing down” is demostrated daily BY you. You merely post links to liberal hate sites while offering no commentary of your own. You refuse to answer even the simplest questions. You’re nothing but a mouse clicker.
“Oh, lookie here on DailyKos, something that spews hate on the GOP. Let me put Wheel of Fortune on pause while I post.”

Further proof:
Ronald Wilson Reagan spoke like a regular guy. He was HATED by socialists because he connected with the everyday American. What was there ongoing meme? “He lacks intelligence.”
He was also the best president of the last 100 years. “The Great Communicator.”
Bill Clinton had a silver tongue. His speeches were legendary. I was in grad school during his second term, and I would regularly tape his addresses just to pick up phrases to mix into my papers.
But his policies were inept. His inability to keep his primal urges under control will forever taint his presidency. His passive approach to Osama bin Laden will forever brand his administration as “soft on terror.”
When did Linda post a link to DK?

Riiiiight. And McCain is as pure as the driven snow.
Question for Mr. Obama-
You intend to raise taxes on those making over $250K per year, in order to help those at the bottom of the heap. That is a forceful taking of one person;s money and giving it to another. Yet, earning the approximately the same amount from 2000 thru 2004, you VOLUNTARILY gave less than 1 percent to help your fellow american. Why should anyone support your DEMAND that people give more, under penalty of law, when you gave so little voluntarily:.
Question for Mr Obama-
You have stated that you will give a tax cut to 95% of Americans. Since there are large numbers that do not pay taxes, how will you give them a tax cut?

Never. But deflection is a tactic. Attacking the messenger is a tactic. Since everything seems to be failing, many tactics must be attempted. ;-)
There is always going back to Reagan. Who was pulling the strings for him during his term? Was it the CIA (aka George HW Bush), was it Nancy, a combination?
So dementia is now an example of intelligence?
Truth really is stranger than fiction.

Question for Sen. McCain: Given the precarious nature of the national and global economy, which of your goals set out in your campaign, campaign promises if you will, may have to be deferred or delayed if you are elected, and for how long?
Question for Sen. Obama: You have mentioned in some of your campaign appearances that due to the economic condition of the country, some things you have raised as goals to be accomplished in your campaign might need to be delayed. Would you again identify those goals which might need to be delayed, and give your best guess as to how long such a delay might be?
Question for Sen. McCain: Your recently announced economic plan centers around tax cuts in certain targeted areas. Is is your feeling that these would be sufficient to help the economy rebound, or should there be additional federal governmental spending on items such as repairing or building new infrastructure, e.g., to further help the economy?
Question for Sen. Obama: Your economic plan, as set out on your campaign website, calls for additional public spending on infrastructure projects for job creation, among other things. At this point, would you consider increasing or decreasing the amount of money you would seek from the Congress for these projects, and if so, how much of a change do you believe would be appropriate?
Question for both: With the latest reports showing a greater than expected decrease in consumer spending in the third quarter, 2008, do either or both of you believe this portends a recession, in the classic economic definition of the term, for the U.S. economy?
Mr McCain-
“At a Sarah Palin rally, someone called out, “Kill him!” At one of your rallies, someone called out, “Terrorist!” Neither was answered or denounced by you or your running mate, as the crowd laughed and cheered.”

Senator McCain — Do you agree with your running mate about the Constitution allowing flexibility for the powers of the VPOTUS? What is the role you see for your vice president?
LJ, seriously, do you think there is some kind of equivalence in someone yelling “terrorist” and someone yelling “kill him”?

You also know that, post- 9/11, to call someone a friend of a terrorist is a very serious matter. You also know we are a bitterly divided country on many other issues. You know that, sadly, in America, violence is always just a moment away. You know that there are plenty of crazy people out there.
Stop! Think! Your rallies are beginning to look, sound, feel and smell like lynch mobs.”

This is all well and good with the exception of course that Dick Cheney is not on either ticket this year.
Nor has any other candidate run as a man of the people, stick it to the rich, wealth distribution crap that Obama has.
He can start with that $2,000,000 house. And Ayers and Farakhan’s too.
Question for Sen. Obama: You have outlined your suggestions for income tax changes, which include either no change in income tax rates or a cut for those making less than $250,000 annually. At what income level do the cuts begin, and at what income level do the rates remain unchanged, understanding that $250,000 is the maximum level where, at least, no increase in income tax rates is proposed?
Follow up to the above: When you, Sen. Obama, mention no increase in income tax rates for those making up to $250,000, but whose incomes are higher than the highest level of income for which cuts would be provided, if Congress agrees, to which rates are you referring? Those currently in effect, or those which, absent Congressional action, will again be effective under current law in a few years?

LJ, seriously, do you think there is some kind of equivalence in someone yelling “terrorist” and someone yelling “kill him”?
I don;pt understand your question. One happenend at at Palin rally, the other a mcCain Rally. Both should be condemed. No, I don;t think there is an equivalence, but I think it adds to the poor climate of this campaign. I want to know why they were not condemmed immediately from the candidate? WHy do you have a problem with my question?
Senator/Messiah – You do not believe in the theory of trickle down economics. With that being the case, why are so many concerned with the downturn in the stock market?
Heheheh.
So now we know nut boy plagiarized his papers in grad school?
I’m not sure I even believe the part about grad school. Dont you have to be, like, ya know, smart to pass the GRE?
I’m sorry LJ. I misread your post.
I was reminded of mcsame saying the people had called him “terrorist” and that somehow, that was equal to someone yelling “kill him” regarding obama.
Sorry I misread your post.
Looking bleak for mccain: Losing ground in battle ground states.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/01/battleground.polls/index.html
“His inability to keep his primal urges under control will forever taint his presidency.”
Hee hee hee.
Would those be the same “primal urges” that drove mcsame to cheat on and divorce the disabled wife that waited for him so faithfully while he was overseas?
Or maybe the “primal urge” that had him applying for a marriage license with the beer queen before his divorce from Mrs. Faithful was final?
Those primal urges?
KFG-
No problem.
“His passive approach to Osama bin Laden will forever brand his administration as “soft on terror.”
IIRC, it was the Clinton administration that warned bushco about bin Laden and AQ.
It was bushco that ignored the “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the US”.
In fact, shrub told a reporter who asked him about the terror memo that he should “watch this” as he was playing golf.
Soft on terror indeed.
Saw yesterday some woman had a surgery done that increased her height by 10 inches. Thought if they had that surgery when mccain came home, might have saved his marriage!
Another question (for both) and I’ll get back to work:
Gentlemen, it appears that the situation in Pakistan is becoming worse for the current government in charge there. What steps should the U.S. take, if any, to help stabilize the current government of Pakistan, in light of its common border with Afghanistan and its possession of nuclear weapons?
“Question for both: With the latest reports showing a greater than expected decrease in consumer spending in the third quarter, 2008, do either or both of you believe this portends a recession, in the classic economic definition of the term, for the U.S. economy?
Some former fed board member said he thinks results for this quarter will show we’re already in recession.
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/251/story/53926.html concerning the NIE being drafted on the situation in Pakistan was the impetus for the last question I posted.

For both candidates- Why on earth, given the long-term problems this country faces such as the continual leakage of jobs overseas, a huge and seemingly uncontrollable debt, a war we can’t find a way out of, an economy in ruins and the loss of our international reputation, would you want to be president?
ksfrmgrrlicker- IIRC, it was the Clinton administration that warned bushco about bin Laden and AQ.

“Senators, how will you begin paying down the Country’s $10,000,000,000,000 debt?”
I’m concerned that the candidates are not talking about it…and even a little more concerned that only one comment in this entire blog mentions debt or deficit. If we don’t get this under control, all these other issues won’t matter…and I’m not convinced that either candidate sees the problem.
After reading the previous comments, I think the funny farm has turned most of the inmates loose today. What a bunch of immature weirdos! They call names and make stupid sounds when they can’t come up with intelligent answers.
TO both candidates: (never to be answered, except with righteous indigination of course)
Why should we believe you?
I know what questions we will not see…
Anything about gun control.
Anything about abortion.
Anything about tort reform.
Just about any question that millions of Conservatives in this country do care about.

Oh, I see where you’re coming from. Dick’s vacation house doesn’t count.
Then let’s try this: All told, the seven properties at which the McCains can rest their weary heads after long days on the campaign trail are valued at nearly $14 million. Oh, but McCain married INTO those houses. I guess that makes it okay…except that it wasn’t okay for John Kerry.

Predestined,
I might concede that gun control and abortion are not very demanding issues.
Tort reform though? It is a major issue which is costing many people absurd amounts of money.
I think that is a major issue.
It all comes down to money.
Abortion? Doesn’t cost me anything.
A stock market crash? Yikes we better get somebody to fix that.

What an unusual situation. Giant construction contracts are being awarded to campaign contributors at the same time that “buddies” who just happen to be contractors are “helping” Todd build their two-story house. At the same time Sarah ensures there will be no public record of building permits. WTF? How is this different from the Stevens situation?”

Because she knows it really pisses you off cosmos.
She be cool like dat.
Why Senator Obama, have you not addressed the statement by Joe Biden that you “Are not experienced enough (to be President)”, made long ago during the Democratic primary, before his later comment that you were experienced enough.

Carrying on with his plagiarizing ways, cosmos steals my question and of course perverts it, then calls it his own.
Is that demoratic senator KKK byrd dead or retired yet?
Was that Alabama Gov. George Wallace a republican or democrap?
“One day earlier in swing state Ohio, Obama outlined his own economic plan and showed off his own pitch. He suggested that McCain was more of the same and that putting a Democrat in charge was the only way to fix the economy’s woes: “It will take a new direction. It will take new leadership in Washington. It will take a real change in the policies and politics of the last eight years.”"
So, Senator Obama, can you please
1) highlight those bills, passed and unpasssed, that you wrote or sponsored, in the two years you were not running for President, or even afterward, that show your leadership and “real change in the politicies an politics of the last eight year”?
2) Highlight the differences in your voting with the Republican majority your first two years, and with the Democratic Majority since 2006? Is is change to Democrat policies? Or REAL change? Please answer. How
3) Other than your age, your relative lack of experience, your possibility of changing the operative about senators getting elected, and your skin color, how are you different? At least different that your Democratic brethern.
4) We have a President now, that by virture of not wanting to veto a damn thing, has spent money like a drunken sailor. Isn;t voting present kinda the same thing? Just not taking a position, and letting things happen?

Wost day since black monday 1987, a fine day for a debate!
Worst
“Why Senator Obama, have you not addressed the statement by Joe Biden that you “Are not experienced enough (to be President)”, made long ago during the Democratic primary, before his later comment that you were experienced enough.
Because if you’re not smart enough to figure out the answer to it on your own, it’d do no good for Obama or anyone else to explain it to you.
Presidential Priorities: What We’d Ask Obama, McCain, in the Debate
To both candidates: The European Union has been pushing for stronger action on global warming for years, and even laid out its own aggressive blueprint. But now that the economic crisis is starting to bite, many European governments are shuddering at the potential costs involved in an economy-wide cap-and-trade scheme similar to the one you both espouse. During this time of financial and economic turmoil, how exactly do you sell the American people on a scheme designed to raise energy prices and the cost of doing business in order to curb greenhouse-gas emissions?
To Sen. John McCain: “Drill, baby, Drill” became your party’s informal mantra during the convention, shortly after oil prices peaked at nearly $150 a barrel. Since then, the oil price has nearly halved, and the price of gasoline has fallen $1 a gallon. Is more domestic drilling still the key to American energy independence? At the same time, oil prices have fallen in large part because rich countries like the U.S. cut back sharply on consumption. Do you still put more faith in supply-side solutions, rather than demand-side remedies, to the energy crunch?
To Sen. Barack Obama: You favored taxing windfall profits from oil companies to help underwrite some of your energy proposals. How will they be funded if falling oil prices erase those “windfall profits”?
more at:
http://blogs.wsj.com/environmentalcapital/2008/10/15/presidential-priorities-what-wed-ask-obama-mccain-in-the-debate/
To both candidates: Why the hell is the TV series ‘Friends’ still airing, and what do you plan to do about this?
Senator McCain, can you explain why Americans should consider Sarah Palin an ethics reformer, considering her unethical activities in Alaska?
And can you explain why your VP selection blatantly LIED about the findings of the troopergate investigation? PALIN: “I’m very, very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing, any hint of any kind of unethical activity there.”
Mr. Obama what is the largest prime number?
Mr. McCain, what is the square root of infinity?
There, that oughta keep ‘em busy so no one has to endure any more of their canned BS.
———-
If McCain doesn’t attack, I will be strongly disappointed.
I see greenie Cosmos is still fixated on Sarah Palin, ever since he found out she wanted to drill ANWR. A mortal sin to an an eco-nerd.
Question for mccain: ‘Do you still claim you thoroughly vetted palin And, if you did, does ethics matter in your administration?’

outlander seems to approve of, and support Palin’s LYING to deceive Americans, re a wildlife refuge that belongs to all Americans. Why is that?
And outlander seems to falsely believe that the Arctic Refuge is only an “eco-nerd” issue. There are many solid, non-enviromental reasons to use the other better and cheaper solutions, instead of drilling in the Refuge.
Senator McCain – are you at all concerned with all the calls to assasinate Obama coming in your and Palin’s rallies?
********************************
Olbermann: McCain, suspend your campaign
The GOP ticket is inciting supporters to violence against Barack Obama
1:25 p.m. Eastern Time, today, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. During the warm-up act by a red meat Congressional candidate aptly named Chris Hackett, Hackett mentions Obama and a Palin audience member shouts, “Kill Him.”
And Gov. Palin, as usual, does nothing about it; says nothing to these thugs and psychos. She may not have heard this one. It is impossible to believe that by now she has not heard about the other ones. Her silence is deafening. Just as, Senator McCain, you have done nothing when violence has been asserted. Correction. You have done one thing.
Asked why, in real time, you do not repudiate this hatefulness, you act as if you are the victim.
Obviously, Senator, you haven’t heard your own speeches, and Gov. Palin’s, and what people shout during them. And you haven’t heard your state GOP Chair in Virginia, Jeffrey Frederick, giving talking points to 30 of your field-operatives heading out to canvass voters in Gainesville, Virginia, with a reporter present, telling them to try to forge a connection between Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden to emphasize bombings and terrorism. And you haven’t heard those volunteers, your volunteers Sen. McCain, shout back, “And he won’t salute the flag” and “We don’t even know where Sen. Obama was really born.”
Sen. McCain, these people are speaking for you! And how dare you try to claim Congressman Lewis was linking you to Gov. George Wallace’s segregation? He was linking you, aptly, to Gov. George Wallace’s lynch-mob mentality.
“As public figures with the power to influence and persuade,” said Congressman Lewis, “Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are playing with fire, and if they are not careful, that fire will consume us all.”
Sen. McCain, your supporters, at your events, are calling Obama a terrorist and traitor and are calling for him to be killed. And yet you keep bringing back these same rabid Right Wing nuts to deliberately stir these crowds into frenzies. And then you take offense when somebody who remembers the violence in our political past, calls you on it. You, sir, are responsible for a phalanx of individuals who are shouting fire in a crowded theater.
There are some things to respect and honor about you, Sen. McCain, but on this you’re not only a fraud, Senator, but you are tacitly inciting lunatics to violence. If you want to again grand-stand and suspend your campaign here’s your big chance. Suspend your campaign now, until you, or somebody else, gets some control over it and it ceases to be a clear and present danger to the peace of this nation.

“I predict the loser of the election will be we,the American people. One candidate is just as big a crook and a liar as the other one. No matter who wins we lose”
so you are predicting that the result of this election will be the same as the last two!
Freebird1971,
Sen. McCain is going to be very disappointed and hurt if he reads your post.
He called you his “friend” 21 times during the debate last week — and now you called him a “crook and a liar”.
Former Reagan Campaign leader said today that the ‘pal around with terrorist’ was wrong, vulgar, and was beneath either a pres. or v.p. to use.
Racist governor George Wallace was a Democrat, and so was the president of the United States that sent the friggin National Guard down there to force him to obey the law and let the students go to school.
Hey, we don’t belong to o an organized political party. we’re Democrats. We are more like a family….
The market fell 730+ points today, so obviously the most important issue to Americans is Bill Ayers! /sarcasm off
So will McCain keep his promise to bring up the issues that are causing hi to lose respect in the eyes of the voters?
Damned if he does, damned if he don’t! He’s got them just where he wants them.
Question:
If either of you can give me a straight answer to the question, “What is the meaning of is,” I will vote for you . . . maybe.
It’s all Freudian manipulation. They want the men to look at Palin and hear “drill, drill.”
