This chilly Sunday morning, October 26th, our Moon is in a waning crescent position. It will rise shortly before the sun. In two more days, on Wednesday, the moon will rise when the sun rises so it will not reflect any of the Sun’s rays, starting over in a new moon position. Then on Friday evening, Halloween, our Moon will be in a waxing crescent position, not a lot of reflected light, as it gradually heads again to the Full Moon position about November 13th.
Was that a wolf that just howled … or the neighbors dog?
Palin whines how Obama “pals around with terrorists” although she can’t mention any. However, when it comes to terrorists that have assassinated doctors, nurses, security guards, bombed clinics, assaulted children, etc. she says they aren’t terrorists.
Abortion clinic bombers not terrorists, Palin says
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who has accused Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama of “palling around with terrorists,” has refused to call people who bomb abortion clinics by the same name.
When asked Thursday night by NBC television presenter Brian Williams whether an abortion clinic bomber was a terrorist, Palin heaved a sigh and, at first, circumvented the question.
“There’s no question that Bill Ayers by his own admittance was one who sought to destroy our US Capitol and our Pentagon. That is a domestic terrorist,” Palin said, referring to a 1960s leftist who founded a radical violent gang dubbed the “Weathermen” — and who years later supported Obama’s first run for public office in the state of Illinois.
“Now, others who would want to engage in harming innocent Americans or facilities that it would be unacceptable to… I don’t know if you’re gonna use the word ‘terrorist’ there,” the ardently pro-life running mate of John McCain said.

McCain got $7 million in excess donations: DNC
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – John McCain received nearly $7 million in 6,652 donations that exceeded contribution limits while seeking the Republican presidential nomination, the Democratic National Committee said on Saturday.
The DNC listed the figure in a complaint it said it will file on Monday with the Federal Election Commission. The Republican National Committee filed a similar complaint on October 5, alleging Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama had not done enough to weed out illegal contributions.
In a copy of the DNC posted on the Internet, the DNC said on Saturday it compiled its information by examining donations recorded on McCain’s campaign Web site.

Well on a personal note: I am off work for the rest of this week because of a week long shut down of the plant I work at. Slow sells and a lack of commitments for the walk-in freezers for the month of November.
But on a good news side, Mrs. Dog and I have reached the 32 years mark on our marriage last Wednesday.
It does not seem that long and we celebrated much as we did that day 32 years ago both of us were tired and went to sleep early. My son got to try out the S.A.W. gun he will be issued for Iraq fired about 200 rounds and it went back into the box after cleaning it. The time is getting closer with each sun rise and his wife, two daughters and he are trying to get as much living in it as possible. Lucky Sh&T he went to the Natural history museum! Got to meet John Michael Montgomery when he appeared at Fort Bragg’s P.X. the list goes on.
Heheheh. HAHAHAHAHAHA
I love it when Karma shows her pretty face.
Remember the local attorney that was at the bottom of the mess with my job? The guy that came after my board and I?
Well, it seems the chickens have come home to roost. He started another personal vendetta persecution, er, investigation that has cost Trego county taxpayers six figures so far, and the results are not even in yet.
And the city council members who filed this complaint against him have spent over $17,000 in taxpayer money defending themselves in this little feud with Dave Harding.
And now? Heheheh> AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
The Bar Association want to “have a word” with him. Too damn funny.

I hope he gets what he deserves. If he does? It wont be pretty.
Karma, she is a biotch.
writerdog,
Congrats on the 32nd. anniversary, and your fine son helping America. Tell him there are a lot of folks thanking him and wishing him well, safety and the very best.
That decrepit old loser John McCain is on “Meet the Press”. He JUST said, “You don’t want to raise anyone’s taxes in tough times.”
Uh, yeah actually you do John. You raise taxes on the greedy damned bastards who got and get rich ruining America. What? They’ll leave and take their money elsewhere? Good riddance.

EDITORIAL: Smear tactics? We’ve had enough (Austin American-Statesman)
EDITORIAL BOARD
Sunday, October 26, 2008
The American people may be in the process of cutting down a longtime right-wing smear tactic: questioning the patriotism of opponents, particularly Democrats. Not only is the tactic not working, it appears to be blowing up in the faces of some who use it at a time when Americans want answers, not name-calling …
At some of his campaign rallies, McCain has had to tamp down supporters who wanted to call Obama un-American.
That Palin and Bachmann had to apologize might be a sign that even the hard-core right wing of the GOP is beginning to understand that the anti-American smear tactic is losing its power. If so, despite this year of growing economic distress and two frustrating wars, America is becoming a better place.
You might say a more pro-American place.

And that the sanctified true meaning of your marriage is not cheapened by the term gay marriage. Which is non-existent!
Tankerless Todd Tiahrt is a liberal commie pinko Muslim terrorist-lover who hates America.
http://www.kansas.com/opinion/editorials/story/573470.html
Wow. Slattery over Roberts? Now that IS a tough pick.
If you’re fair-minded, though, you have to give the WE credit for trying to hold Roberts accountable for his Intelligence Committee’s bald, open, and naked attempt to sweep under the rug its investigation of Bush’s intelligence tampering in the run-up to Iraq.
In the America that I know and love, such poor leadership should rightly result in the loss of one’s Senate office. Preferably by resignation, but that kind of honor no longer exists in this country (unfortunately). Getting booted out of office through the popular vote will have to do.
The Eagle endorses Toad Tiahrt again?
Gee, maybe they could have at LEAST called for Toad to debate his challenger Donald Betts before giving Toad yet another endorsement.
And did the Eagle stop to remember that Tiahrt will be part of the powerless minority Republicans in congress?
Tell that to the folks in Massachusetts and California. And it’s coming soon in New Jersy and Connecticut.
Tell me bigotbox, how much money have you given to the mormon church or the catholics and KofC?
Heheheh. And as for bigotbox’s fake marriage?
Say hello to the Mrs. for me. (wink wink)
Oh nevermind. I’ll do it myself later….
If it hadn’t been for the actions of Pat Roberts personally, the USA might have been able to avoid a second Bush term and the near collapse of the country that’s resulted.
For example, if Bush had not been elected to a second term, then his cronyism at all levels, which resulted at least indirectly (if not directly) in the Wall Street melt-down we’re enduring now, could have been avoided. The loss of confidence by US citizens in the office of Attorney General almost certainly would have not happened. And we could have avoided the near collapse of our national infrastructures, from science to highways, due to the removal from theatre of the seige warfare conducted by Bush on our infrastructures for the past 8 years.
Roberts held a Senate committee chair position with unique leadership responsibilities in 2003-2004. He could have changed US history for the better, if only he had done the right thing. Just doing the right thing — such a simple thing — could have done enormous good for the USA, but Roberts failed the test.
Roberts has a LOT to answer for.

Pedant, You’ll never believe this, but The Wichita Eagle actually cited all Roberts failures and complicity with bush in endorsing Slattery! Who’d a thunked it? The Wichita Eagle didn’t endorse Roberts… Of course, he still has that “R” and will be reelected for no better reason than a letter behind his name. A little letter that lost its way and Kansas as always is stuck in the past, not yet realizing there is nothing good or positive left in that party of the little “R.”

Four years ago, there was a site where you could sign up and find a person in another state to swap your vote with. But I don’t find it this year.
Four years ago, I voted Nader so that a woman I made an agreement with in Minnesota would vote Kerry.
Probably the cons made some sort of law against such creative use of electoral franchise.
If anyone can find a site for vote swapping, please advise. It makes little sense to waste my vote in Kansas on Obama when I could trade it and vote for a third party candidate and get someone in a swing state to vote Obama.
Heh. Bigotbox just did a drive by post on his way to church?
I wonder what kind of snakes he’s handling today?
BTW the Barak the Vote yesterday was fine success! Governor Sebelius had a wonderful line addressing “who is Barak Obama.”
I paraphrase Governor Sebelius here..
Senator Obama is a man who was raised by Kansas women and I know the kinds of values instilled in Barak Obama by those Kansas women!
Hey KFG, my hubs can say his marriage was ruined by a gay person. He married a gay person. That was a whole sad situation really…she was trying so hard to be straight for the bigotboxes of the world. Luckily we all had a happy ending. Someday KFG gay marriage will be legal in all 50 states once the bigots die out. Perhaps one of these days religious fundies will die out too. They’re getting fewer and fewer.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater has announced that he won’t file charges against the electric company or an apartment complex where Damon Patrick Schmidt died. Schmidt died on 26 August when he was hit with seven kilovolts while trying to steal copper wire.
I only have two questions:
Why did anybody give thought to pressing charges in the first place?
Why the hell did it take two months to decide not to file?
Dude entered Darwin’s lottery by trying to steal copper from a hot circuit. Anybody asking “shouldn’t we charge the electric company with manslaughter” should have been met with laughter, then “that’s a good one, mate!”
So long, Damon.

Obama Campaign Cuts Off Interviews With Florida TV Station
Biden gets asked tough questions by Orlando reporter
Barack Obama’s campaign killed all interviews with a Florida TV station after Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, faced tough and critical questions from a reporter at the Orlando station, the Orlando Sentinel reported .
During a satellite video Thursday, WFTV’s Barbara West quoted Karl Marx and asked Biden how Obama’s comment to “Joe the Plumber,” about spreading the wealth wasn’t being Marxist.
“Are you joking?,” Biden asked.
West replied, “No.”

Good for Biden for leaving a Republican wackjob interview. The wackadoos are out in force. Republicans won’t be satisfied until they’ve destroyed their party. GO PUBES GO!!!

(everything I’m posting is awaiting moderation, don’t understand why)
In a déjà vu moment from Campaign 2006, President George W. Bush again is asking his Attorney General to launch an investigation into the registration of hundreds of thousands of new voters, many of whom are expected to vote Democratic.
Bush forwarded to Attorney General Michael Mukasey a Republican request that he intervene in the battleground state of Ohio to force 200,000 new voters to either verify the information on their registration forms or cast provisional ballots, which are often thrown out after the voter leaves the polling place.
Similarly, two years ago when Bush feared Democratic victories in congressional races, the President “spoke with Attorney General [Alberto] Gonzales in October 2006 about their concerns over voter fraud,” according to a Justice Department Inspector General’s reported released earlier this month.
In 2006, the White House and some congressional Republicans also put pressure on the Justice Department and U.S. Attorneys around the country to bring last-minute indictments against pro-Democratic voter registration drives.
When some federal prosecutors balked because they found a lack of evidence, they were purged as part of an unprecedented firing of nine U.S. Attorneys, who were deemed not “loyal Bushies.”
That “prosecutor-gate” scandal led to the resignations of several senior White House and Justice Department officials, including Attorney General Gonzales. President Bush then asserted broad executive privilege to block testimony by Karl Rove and other top White House officials.
http://www.pubrecord.org/nationworld/426-bush-orders-to-doj-to-probe-ohio-voter-registrations.html
======================================================
Wanna know what evidence the Bush administration has on voter fraud? Out of the millions and millions of votes cast from Sept 2002 to Oct. 2005, 70 voters were indicted on voter fraud. Of those 18 were deemed ineligible to vote. 18 out of millions cast. That’s their evidence. In other words, they got nada, and are injecting into the voting process pure politics. Deja vu all over again, by the Republicans who will do anything to keep people from voting.
Remember, right-wingers, we’re talking actual voter fraud here, not voter registration. ACORN registers voters; it does not vote for them.
No idea why that all blew up.
Anybody check out DavidB’s link to the Telegraph article?
A GOP party flack says that Noonan, Frum, and David Brooks are “dead people in the Republican Party.”
If the GOP makes Palin the litmus test, it’s finished. They’ll never attract another voter with an IQ above room temperature again.
And so the George W Bush model has blown up in their faces, and what’s their solution? Kick out the adults, and keep the model.
Pass the popcorn, this is going to get G O O D.

Hey? Is anyone out there looking for a good friend? Let me introduce you to…
http://wichita.craigslist.org/zip/893991974.html
Terrorist strikes on four American cities. Russia rolling into Eastern Europe. Israel hit by a nuclear bomb. Gay marriage in every state. The end of the Boy Scouts.
All are plausible scenarios if Democrat Barack Obama is elected president, according to a new addition to the campaign conversation called “Letter from 2012 in Obama’s America,” produced by the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family Action.
The imagined look into the future is part of an escalation in rhetoric from Christian right activists who are trying to paint Obama in the worst possible terms as the campaign heads into the final stretch and polls show the Democrat ahead.
Separately, a group called the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission has posted a series of videos on its site and on YouTube called “7 Reasons Barack Obama is not a Christian.”
The commission accuses Obama of “subtle diabolical deceit” in saying he is Christian, while he believes that people can be saved through other faiths.
But among the strongest pieces this year is Focus on the Family Action’s letter which has been posted on the group’s Web site and making the e-mail rounds. Signed by “A Christian from 2012,” it claims a series of events could logically happen based on the group’s interpretation of Obama’s record, Democratic Party positions, recent court rulings and other trends.
Among the claims:
* A 6-3 liberal majority Supreme Court that results in rulings like one making gay marriage the law of the land and another forcing the Boy Scouts to “hire homosexual scoutmasters and allow them to sleep in tents with young boys.” (In the imagined scenario, The Boy Scouts choose to disband rather than obey).
* A series of domestic and international disasters based on Obama’s “reluctance to send troops overseas.” That includes terrorist attacks on U.S. soil that kill hundreds, Russia occupying the Baltic states and Eastern European countries including Poland and the Czech Republic, and al-Qaida overwhelming Iraq.
* Nationalized health care with long lines for surgery and no access to hospitals for people over 80.
The goal was to “articulate the big picture,” said Carrie Gordon Earll, senior director of public policy for Focus on the Family Action. “If it is a doomsday picture, then it’s a realistic picture,” she said.
“It looks like, walks like, talks like and smells like desperation to me,” said the Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell of Houston, an Obama supporter who backed President Bush in the past two elections. The Methodist pastor called the 2012 letter “false and ridiculous.” He said it showed that some Christian conservative leaders fear that Obama’s faith-based appeals to voters are working.

Senator Joe Biden laughed at a laughable question and asked, “Are you serious?”
Asking a presidential question that was prefaced with a quote from a 19th Century German philosopher and political economist (Karl Marx!) was so irrelevant to the questions common sense Americans want answered!
The campaign has decided to not waste anymore valuable media time on these hacks and have cut them off from future interviews.
Good decision.
Biden walked out of an interview?
When does Palin walk into one? At this point, what does she have to lose?
Get her drunk and put her on Jeapordy.
What was really remarkable, David, is that the right wing hacks really believe those were “tough questions.” Guess it shows how much their brains have atrophied in the past 8 years.
Biden walked out of an interview?
Naw, the campaign just refused to return to that local TV station in what’s left of the election season.
BTW,
WFTV channel 9 is a television station based in Orlando, Florida, affiliated with the ABC network.
Biden/Obama can’t blame Fox for that interview.
Sure can’t stand the heat, can they.
I watched the interview and thought the same thing: who wrote the questions. There was nothing “tough” about any of the questions. They were asked for no other reason than to get the interviewers radical right wing talking points across.
Got any more Sunday mornin’ comedy shows for us, Max?

Uses for $700 billion bailout money ever shifting
By JOHN DUNBAR – 1 day ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — First, the $700 billion rescue for the economy was about buying devalued mortgage-backed securities from tottering banks to unclog frozen credit markets.
Then it was about using $250 billion of it to buy stakes in banks. The idea was that banks would use the money to start making loans again.
But reports surfaced that bankers might instead use the money to buy other banks, pay dividends, give employees a raise and executives a bonus, or just sit on it. Insurance companies now want a piece; maybe automakers, too, even though Congress has approved $25 billion in low-interest loans for them.
Three weeks after becoming law, and with the first dollar of the $700 billion yet to go out, officials are just beginning to talk about helping a few strapped homeowners keep the foreclosure wolf from the door.
As the crisis worsens, the government’s reaction keeps changing.
Here’s a link to the interview: http://www.wftv.com/video/17790025/index.html.
WFTV news director Bob Jordan said, “When you get a shot to ask these candidates, you want to make the most of it. They usually give you five minutes.”
Jordan said political campaigns in general pick and choose the stations they like. And stations often pose softball questions during the satellite interviews.
“Mr. Biden didn’t like the questions,” Jordan said. “We choose not to ask softball questions.”
http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_tv_tvblog/2008/10/obama-campaign.html
Did they hit biden with a ‘gotcha’ question, you know like, “What news media do you read?” or the really dumbfounder question “What do you think of the Bush Doctrine?”
Sure can’t stand the heat, can they.
And how exactly was that “the heat,” Max? Not only were those not “tough questions”–they weren’t even questions. They were just predigested accusations with a question mark appended.
Actual “tough questions” would be based on facts and require a detailed answer. Too bad Max doesn’t know the difference.
And with only 10 days left, snubbing one Orlando TV station ain’t exactly evading the press.

I’m sure Rage, that idiots like you had no idea what Biden was saying when he was talking about spreading the wealth around – giving tax cuts to 40% of Americans who are NOT paying taxes.
Biden’s answer confirmed that Obama/Biden ARE going to spread the wealth around.
You really are a dumbsiht if you believe Biden tore the interviewer apart.
I didn’t like the eagle’s endorsement of tiahrt, so I took the liberty to write my own.
Biden/Obama can call it whatever they want – Socialist is the most accurate description of their plan.
They like to call it a “tax break for the middle class.”
Giving “tax cuts” to people who don’t pay taxes IS – S O C I A L I S M .
Call a spade a spade.
Why is it you Dem’s can’t admit you are Socialists? I’m surprised your propaganda from pre-school through high school isn’t teaching how Wonderful Socialism is!

The difference Phantom, is that the progress of Socialism in America IS measurable.
Thus, proven to be happening. And Obama will make it even worse.
Hawaii Healthcare – That is the bomb that Obama will drop on Americka.
“Think what mr. gun totin’ bigotbox would do if he actually CAUGHT me with his wife.

Very revealing statement!
Notice how quickly and easily ‘guano’ embraces the thought of being with someone else’s spouse in a homosexual affair situation?
Shows how much significance and fidelity she places in her own relationship, and the lack of importance she consequently places in all others as well.
Typical homosexual characteristic.
Sad.
Right Max!
Got’a run, off to do some hiking and nature observing.
Keep up the good fight!

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-soi/05in06tr.xls
I’ve told ya all this before. Obama’s 95% tax cut is going to involve NEGATIVE TAX RATES for most of the lower tax brackets.
Don’t ya understand Socialism? Tax Cuts when you don’t owe any taxes iz really Gov’t handouts, but OBAMA CALLS IT – tax cuts!
This is essentially Obama’s plan:
The Libs won’t be happy until they are paying a Negative Tax rate. That’s right, they want money back! Money taken back from the RICH and given to them!
Wealth redistribution would look like:
……………Income …Tax Share
Top 1%___>$364,657___90%
Top 5%___>$145,283___100%
Top 10%__>$103,912___125%

Top 50%__> $30,881___175%
Bottom
50%______< $30,881____ – 75%
That’s right, the Top 50% would pay 175% of total taxes.
The Bottom 50% would steal 75% of the collected taxes. (Thieves that they are!)
Marry money, divorce him, then find a queer roommate.
Ah, what a plan!
Well, I can’t condone that kind of cynical opportunism, but I hope you and your boyfriend are very happy, Max.
P.S. Hey, you know why McCain pays so much attention to Joe the Plumber?
They wanted a Republican who hung around bathrooms besides Larry Craig!
I gotta go too Box.
The Libs will cry about why we run away from them though.
They expect us to blog 24/7.
Have a great hike. I’m gonna do some target shooting, with my daughter. She’s a bullseye shooter!
So bigotbox, when DID you have that operation to have your sense of humor removed?
Or were you just born without one?
That’s what your wife says anyway!
BLUEJAY HEALTH CARE
1. Ok, so far I have KFG and CapnAmerica in on helping.
2. We need the other liberals to chip in as well to help spread the cost.
If any of you Conservatives are interested, that is fine as well.
3. BlueJay, I need you to go to this website and input your info so we can start getting you some quotes.
https://www.ehealthinsurance.com/ehi/Alliance?allid=Goo25151&sid=CORE
Now, they will be contacting you by phone to give you quotes. You will need to take some responsibility at this point and track this information and let us know what they are and our options.
I can do this for you, but I will need personal information from you that I doubt you will give to me.
Or you could give that information to KFG or CapnAmerica and they could.
Either way, without your info we don’t get quotes.
4. I guess this will cost about 200 dollars a month.
Split that several ways among the liberals here and that will be 20-50 dollars a liberal. That is for a low deductable plan. We could get you an even cheaper plan, but it would be high deductable and you would still have to pay out of pocket for a good chunk of your health care up to a certain amount.
5. Of course, as KFG pointed out, this will only be insurance, not free health care. So you will still need to pony up the money (about 10-25%) on certain things. Many plans do offer around 500 dollars in preventative coverage with no co-pay.
I don’t think this should be a problem, because after your insurance covers their part you can pay off the rest in payment plans.
If you really can’t afford those then we can go to the contributors and see if they feel like helping out extra to cover that as well.
“Tax cuts to people who don’t pay taxes.”
You’re really, seriously, going with that one, Max?
Good luck with that.
Yeah max. Dream on. The only thing I got from my ex was grief.
Jealous of my great life?
Why, thank you!
“4. I guess this will cost about 200 dollars a month.”
Dream on. And I dont recall captain or I saying we needed other folks to help. Although they would be welcome.
If your concern for JR were real, that would be very christian of you. But since it clearly is NOT…
I’ll let others draw their own conclusions.
Thanks Nathan, but I think the health care crisis will be taken care of shortly.
Oh, and if you would really like to make this personal?
I’ll go there.
“I don’t recall the lezbo farmer answering your question as to how she acquired her farm.”
Geez max, obsess much? I answered that again yesterday. I said then you all would ask again.
Cons. One’s too many and a hundred’s not enough.
you are so predictable. Must be why bigotbox prefers you to his wife.
She’s VERY interesting!

What Nathan? JR take some responsibility? Nathan, can’t you do this for JR too? Perhaps you could get JR to give you Power of Attorney so that you could do absolutely everything for him.
Of course this would give you complete control over JR’s life, but hey, Libs are OK with losing Feedom – in exchange for getting through life for Free without having to work!
Heheheh. But then again… So’s your daughter!
nitwits. jealous AND nitwits
“I’ll go there.”
Do it JR. Burn ‘em down and salt the earth under them.
BlueJay,
The health care “crisis” may indeed change under Obama if he is elected.
But lets be serious here, it will be at least a year after before such a plan to change such a system is voted on and in place.
In the meantime, we need to get you some coverage.
And now the sick lezzie has her eyes on my daughter.
Oh what my daughter can do with a 12 gauge, 22, 9, 40, or 45!
But she wouldn’t need that. One punch is all it would take.
Who are you really “Max”?
I know several bloggers who think you are the blogger formerly known as G Sheridan.
Which would explain your preoccupation with me.
I happen to think that “Max” is another nic for Hank. Which would ALSO explain why you just can’t quit me.
Care to set the record straight?
KFG,
I have worked with a friend on getting insurance for him and his wife and it didn’t cost him 200 a month.
What do you think it will cost to insure BlueJay and his son?
At the very least just BlueJay, his son is covered.
Either way, how much are you willing to contirubute? Having more might help if it is more.
“In the meantime, we need to get you some coverage.”
Nah let’s do something REALLY challenging.
This being a time of great change and optimism?
Let’s all work together and see if we can’t get Nathan a date.
“I have worked with a friend on getting insurance for him and his wife and it didn’t cost him 200 a month.”
How old are they? Do they have any pre-existing conditions? Do they have insurance now? Or trying to get some after being uninsured? It all makes a difference.
“Either way, how much are you willing to contirubute?”
I dont recall putting a limit on it.
Yeah JR. I think he’s hot for you just like maxie and bigot box are for me!
Off to the range.
JR, you can dally with your belly button and rack your brain all day about who I am.
Just like your Lib attacks on Joe the Plumber, you Libs attack the Messenger, since you can’t defend yourselves from the message.
Now returning to the Marta Stewart show, where yesterday you heard about Poontang Pie, and today you will learn how to make your own lollipops to lick!
Pitiful. Just pitiful, max.
SO.. just when did you have your wit surgically removed?
And tomorrow, Apple Pie.
You won’t ever think about Apple Pie the same way ever again. (Presented by Marta’s friend – JR.)
It must just suck to be a con right now.

Sarah Palin is invited to meet with the Pope while he is vacationing south of Rome in Venice.
The liberal press reluctantly watches the semi-private audience, hoping they will be able to allot minimal coverage, if any.
The Pope asks Governor Palin to join him on a Gondola ride through the canals of Venice.
They’re admiring the sights and agreeing on moral issues when, all of a sudden, the Pope’s hat (zucchetto) blows off his head and out into the water.
The gondolier starts to reach for the Pontiff’s cap with his pole, but this move threatens to overturn the floating craft.
Sarah waves the tour guide off, saying, “Wait, wait. I’ll take care of this. Don’t worry.”
She steps off the gondola onto the surface of the water and walks out to the Pope’s hat, bends over and picks it up. She walks back across the water to the gondola and steps aboard.
She hands the hat to the Pope amid stunned silence.
The next morning the topic of conversation among Democrats in Congress, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News, CNN, the New York Times, Hollywood celebrities, and in France and Germany is: “Palin Can’t Swim.”
Sorry, trying the GOP on for size, thought I’d throw a little random nuttiness out there.

This is as funny as the right-wing reporters questions.
Max’s logic goes like this:
40% of Americans pay no taxes. Obama gives them a tax break, so they end up paying . . . no taxes . . . still.
And she’s freakin’ out about it. I gotta tell ya, Franklin’s Wango logic is spreading like a pandemic. It’s a good thing the only ones vulnerable to it have IQ’s somewhere around the freezing point of water.
Makes one wonder whether Socialism wouldn’t be better than Wangoism. Hell, with Socialism, you know which side your breads buttered on. With Wangoism, there ain’t no bread or butter, just really weird illogic. Try eating that.

Ya, JR, get the quote. It would be interesting what it costs for someone in your situation. My guess is somewhere around four to five hundred a month, if they even take you because of priors. I think this could open some eyes here.

The Biden interview was interesing, however Biden fails to recognize why the Surge made it possible.
The U.S. military did the hard work. That is, they rooted out, killed and drove out Al Qaeda and militants from areas methodically.
Without that hard work being done by the U.S. military, local control couldn’t even begin to be established.
Biden gets a partial credit, but he is wrong in his analysis of how the current situation was arrived at.

“Tensions Are Growing Inside Republican Camp
Politico is reporting that Sarah Palin has had enough with what her handlers are telling her to do. She blames them for her increasingly negative public image and wants to be herself. CNN has a similar story. Some people are interpreting this as the start of her 2012 presidential campaign. ”
Palin is increasingly talking about and defending herself as opposed to the ticket. At rallies today, she went back to the issue of clothes. That hurts the ticket now but begins (tries to) rehabilitate her for her political future. I think we will see more of this in the next few days and think it unlikely Palin and McCain will appear together again, maybe even including election night.
John McCain is about to become a very lonely man.
‘100,000 Greet Obama in Denver‘
http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/10/26/politics/fromtheroad/entry4546324.shtml
“Barack Obama drew a crowd of 100,000, according to police estimates, in his third visit to Colorado since the Democratic Convention. Speaking at Civic Center Park in downtown Denver, Obama appeared to be stunned by the sea of supporters.
“Goodness gracious! Who are those folks way at the top of the capitol over there? Unbelievable!” he said to cheers.
…
Obama devoted some of his speech today to explaining his tax plan, as John McCain and Sarah Palin continue to hammer away at his policy. He called his argument with McCain over taxes an “irony,” explaining that wealthy individuals benefit from a prosperous middle class.
“Rich people do better when ordinary folks are doing well,” Obama explained.
“Part of the problem with what’s happened on Wall Street is that ordinary folks were having trouble paying the bills. They were starting to lose their homes, they were starting to be foreclosed on, and that had an impact on everybody.”
He cited Bill Clinton’s plan in the 1990s as evidence that his tax plan will help wealthy individuals as well as the middle class.
“I want to go back to the rate that they paid under Bill Clinton,” Obama said about his plan for wealthy Americans.
“And by the way they were doing fine under Bill Clinton. In fact they were doing better under Bill Clinton because everybody was doing well.” “
Heh
Easy to get stuck in a gear aint it?
On Meet the Press, I just heard John McCain refer to Joe the Biden.
Kill all you can… they only recruit more the higher the death count…
Surely there is another way…
Does Lezzie Dole even LIVE in North Carolina????
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Sens. Mitch McConnell and Elizabeth Dole are two top Republicans lawmakers who find themselves fighting to hold on to their Senate seats.
They’re also two reasons why Democrats are talking 60 — the number of seats needed to secure filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.
“We are feeling really good that we are going to pick up a successful amount of the larger number of seats and have a successful election. As for 60? It is possible,” said New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, who runs campaign operations for the Senate Democrats.
Winning what’s commonly called the “magic 60″ would maximize the Democrats’ ability to push through a Democratic agenda and would virtually prevent Republicans from blocking legislation on the Senate floor.
I’d be very surprised to see Democrats get a super majority in the Senate. Maybe there’s another way.
If republicans want to filibuster, make them actually filibuster. Don’t accede to just the threat; make the republicans stay on the floor night and day the way a filibuster is supposed to work. I think they’d get tired of that pretty quick.
XXX posts,
“I think they’d get tired of that pretty quick.”
No they won’t, if that’s what it takes.
You see Republicans are willing to work a lot harder than DimLibs, always have, always will.
Max lies that “the Top 50% would pay 175% of total taxes.”
That’s impossible. Taxes are taxes. It’s is impossible to collect more taxes than what the tax code requires.
Truly idiotic.
The statistics he cites only have meaning when looked at historically.
I read recently that some being considered for President Obama’s cabinet are Republican Senators. A super majority might not depend on the election.

Coburn of OK as well.

XXX,
Here’s a little experiment similar to a Democrat controlled congress and Obama a Pres.
“Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read “Vote Obama, I need the money.” I laughed.
Once in the restaurant my server had on a “Obama 08″ tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference–just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need–the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the
server inside as I ‘ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient needed money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.”
“Here is one Democrat’s assessment of who might be seated around the Cabinet Room table shortly after January 20, 2009 if Obama is elected president, based on my knowledge of the various players in Democratic circles, the people who currently advise Obama and who appear as campaign surrogates, and a review of other similar assessments of who might tapped for a possible Obama administration post.”

New McCain Rips Old McCain’s Argument That Bush Tax Cuts Benefit The ‘Wealthy’
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/02/17/mccain-wealthy-taxes/
“Now that he has to court the hardline anti-tax factions of the conservative movement, McCain is changing his story on tax policy. In 2000, 2001, and 2003, McCain was one of the people “interested” in talking about “who the, quote, ‘wealthy’ are in America” when he argued against Bush’s tax cuts that “mostly benefit the wealthy“:
“There’s one big difference between me and the others – I won’t take every last dime of the surplus and spend it on tax cuts that mostly benefit the wealthy.” [McCain campaign commercial, January 2000]
“I am disappointed that the Senate Finance Committee preferred instead to cut the top tax rate of 39.6% to 36%, thereby granting generous tax relief to the wealthiest individuals of our country at the expense of lower- and middle-income American taxpayers.” [McCain Senate floor statement, May 21, 2001]
“But when you look at the percentage of the tax cuts that – as the previous tax cuts – that go to the wealthiest Americans, you will find that the bulk of it, again, goes to wealthiest Americans.” [NBC’s “Today,” Jan. 7, 2003]
McCain now appears more interested in protecting the “wealthy” than he does in straight talk.”
We do it primarily and as I understand it, because one child was hit by a car while ‘trick or treating.’
Thanks for the explanation. As I said, I was just curious. I remember seeing a car accident on Halloween when I was very young. Happened at an intersection of a quiet street, while I was standing on the corner. Scared the bejeezus out of me. A wise decision by your church.

Kyl’s opportunistic enough, but he’s also a demagogic conservative as*shole, and would be the odds-on favorite to become minority leader if Mitch McConnell’s re-election bid goes down in flames (who knows, maybe even if it doesn’t, hehe).

And Sebelius as commerce or ag? Jesus. I guess she’d be harmless there. They’ll eat her alive at Ag though. The bonus would be that she would take adrian polansky with her and get his sorry butt out of the state. Again.
I wouldnt mind seeing Christy Todd Whitman back at EPA. She had some integrity to resign when she couldnt stomach the bushco heavy hand.
Janet Napolitano as AG could be good. John Edwards would have been good, but he kinda shot himself in the foot.
Interesting stuff. Howard Dean at HHS would be great, but we still need him at the DNC. I guess he’s ready to go. But thank god for him and his fifty state strategy. God save us from Harold Ford or Rahm Emmanuel.
I’d love to have Robert Reich at Labor again or perhaps as Treasury Secretary. He is an economist after all, but he seems pretty happy at Berkley.
Hillary needs to straighten the senate out before she goes to the supremes. I agree, this may have been her only shot at POTUS. If obama is a one termer, it will be because there will be a no democrat mood at work after all the bitter pills we’ll have to swallow to wipe up after bushco’s poopys on the floor and furniture.
Pelosi in the cabinet was mentioned in the comments. Personlly, I think both pelosi and reid need to “spend more time with their families”.
Jane Harmon on the other hand, might be good for Homeland Security or Sec. Of Defense. Or NSA.
Now THAT would piss pelosi off but good!
I notice Murtha is conspicuous by his absence from the list. Not him for VA or DOD? Hmmmm….
Heheheh. Do those cabinet musings qualify as “measuring the drapes”?
“Interesting stuff. Howard Dean at HHS would be great, but we still need him at the DNC. I guess he’s ready to go. But thank god for him and his fifty state strategy.”
I have to admit, I was wrong on the 50 state strategy.
I was looking at it practically. Dean apparently understood better the Republican’s capacity for self destruction. Having no good direction to run, they ran over the cliff.

Winning what’s commonly called the “magic 60″ would maximize the Democrats’ ability to push through a Democratic agenda and would virtually prevent Republicans from blocking legislation on the Senate floor.

But NOT if McCain wins. . .
Sarah Palin says that the VP is “in charge” of the Senate, and if she is elected VP, she will git in there and make a lot of policy changes. You betcha!
‘Sarah Palin: VP Is ‘In Charge Of United States Senate’
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l40nrw3V3GA
Sarah Palin would convince the Democratic Senate Majority leader in 2009 (Sen Reid?) to support HER policies!
Sarah Palin’s claim must be true, because Nathaniel, with his clueless junior high school debate tactics, has defended her. /sarcasm OFF
KFG — What about Gen. Wesley Clark for DOD Sec’y??? He had NATO for a while… certainly qualified…
And how about Bill Richardson for Sec. of State?? also well qualified…. And maybe Bill Clinton for Ambassador at Large?? (not cabinet, but could be good)
Oh yea, Chuck Hagel might be good for Homeland Security, or NSA…. he has experience..
Ya know? That’s ALMOST a reason to hope for a McCain/Palin win.
To see lil’ Sarah pageant walk into the Senate and TRY to take over?
BETTER theater?
Watching lil’ Sarah get dressed up for 2012.
McCain is now desperately trying to get the states that Bush carried in 2004.
Palin is dressing in jeans, instead of her $100,000+ designer wardrobe. And singing? “Redneck Woman”.
Robert Kennedy for Sec. of Interior.
There is a Congresswoman from Houston I knw when I was there… Cant remember her name… But, she would be GREAT at HUD…
And did you mention Howard Dean, MD, for HHS???
knw should be knew (for those with spelling fetish)
How about Ron Paul for Interior??
It’s just past midnight America and another day closer to victory.
Comes the morning, we are 8 nights away from a new morning in America.
BlueJay sings…
Don’t stop believing about tomorrow…
Chas, Sheila Jackson Lee?
You betchya!
Yea, thats the one KFG… REALLY sharp lady!
Worked with her on a housing project for a couple of months when I was in Houston…
Uh oh — Jay is doin the happy dance!! LOL
Hang in there… “The Sun’ll come up tomorrow!”
well, long weekend….
good night; good luck; god bless —-
whatever you conceive god to be!!
blessings ALL!!
so mote it be!!
Two points about the 50 state strategy.
* It provides the opportunity to change states that are predominately one-party, instead of just ignoring them.
* If elected, the candidate has more citizens in all those states, who will support her/his policies. That can make an important difference in bills getting passed, etc. . .
Boxer…. For a man of such devout “Faith”
Ha ha, what a joke, look who’s talking the faux preacher, and that’s the kindest thing that can be said about Chas.
And ‘guano farmer’, so glad I can post anything and you light up like a red brothel porch light.
You simpleton, don’t you know when you are being played with. You are getting to be a very boring game though, too predictable and nothing ever new.
