The point is not how many VPs became president in the past.

The point is whether someone campaigning for VP is qualified to be the president, if it's required.

“Regular” tries –

“Palin isn’t qualified to do what?

Preside over the Senate like all Vice Presidents do in case of a tie?”

Talk about lowering the bar.

You know, and everyone knows, John S (for Senile) McCain the Third (for Shrub’s 3rd term) is likely gonna die in the next couple of years.

That puts the Moose-Dresser in the Oval Office.

Think about that.

You know this how?

He has longevity in his family. His mother was at the Republican National Convention, lucid and alert.

“Obama spokesman Bill Burton said the campaign purchased the books from Random House under a special arrangement in which the senator did not receive royalties for the sales.”

This type of thing is done, too, and would be the same as when an author is usually offered a discounted price on books bought directly from the publisher. There are no royalty payments made for the purchase of those books. As the author, I am offered my book for 1/2 of the cover price. I am not allowed to re-sell those books. They are "promotional material" and therefore are considered a business deduction. It would work the same way if an agreement was reached between the publisher and the campaign. It's promotional material, no matter who does the promoting and is a legitimate deduction.

From header:

“The over-the-moon reaction by conservative commentators and activists to Sarah Palin’s debate performance puzzled me - until I came up with a hypothesis to explain the phenomenon,” Eugene Robinson wrote in a Washington Post blog.”
—————

Occam’s razor is “often paraphrased as, “All other things being equal, the simplest solution is the best.” “(Wikipedia)

McCain is dropping in the polls, quitting Michigan, etc.

Palin helped the ticket for a short time, until voters realized that she wasn’t qualified, and her polls #’s started to drop.

The “over-the-moon reaction[s]” were most likely just a futile attempt to help the flailing McCain/Palin ticket.

From Saturday's NY Times article about Ayers:

"I saw no evidence of a radical streak, either overt or covert, when we were together at Harvard Law School," said Bradford A. Berenson, who worked on the Harvard Law Review with Mr. Obama and who served as associate White House counsel under President Bush. Mr. Berenson, who is backing Mr. McCain, described his fellow student as "a pragmatic liberal" whose moderation frustrated others at the law review whose views were much farther to the left.

It has happened: Palin brought up the Ayres/Obama connection during a stop.
--------------

What's pathetic is that the U.S. has a VP candidate (and possible president) who uses a headline, and does NOT even read the article.

Or else Sarah Palin read the article, and then LIED about it?

‘Palin: Obama Is ‘Palling Around With Terrorists’
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/10/04/palin-obama-is-palling-around-with-terrorists
“Hari Sevugan, a spokesman for the Obama campaign, fired back almost immediately in a statement: “Governor Palin’s comments, while offensive, are not surprising, given the McCain campaign’s statement this morning that they would be launching Swiftboat-like attacks in hopes of deflecting attention from the nation’s economic ills.

In fact, the very newspaper story Governor Palin cited in hurling her shameless attack made clear that Senator Obama is not close to Bill Ayers, much less ‘pals,’ and that he has strongly condemned the despicable acts Ayers committed 40 years ago, when Obama was eight. What’s clear is that John McCain and Sarah Palin would rather spend their time tearing down Barack Obama than laying out a plan to build up our economy.” ”

If Palin and her unstable sidekick of a running mate truly want to get smart and push the issue with Obama's associations, then the Alaska Governor can plan on getting more than a few opportunities to string a series of incomplete sentences together about her husband's membership in the Alaska Independence Party. That little stint in political activisim reportedly lasted, with an interval or two, from 1995 to 2002. Patriotism? Well, not exactly. This crew of frontier folk apparently want to chuck membership in the good old U. S. of A. altogether. Another way of stating it is that they'd actually like to secede from the union. Yeah, just your basic get together over beer and moose chili. So the second Palin and McCain start flinging the Chicago talk around, rest assured that a whole posse of us are going to be out here filling in the gaps on the vice presidential nominee's rendezvous with the anti-America crowd from the upper northwest. Black is white, up is down, and we will see who's smart.

Chas,

My link is not fake! Rick Astley did indeed make a music video on the song “Never Gonna Give You Up”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Astley
==========================================

Your link was titled with reference to comments "supposedly" made by Michele Obama... It wasnt even close...

THEREFORE, oh ye of small mental capacity, the LINK is FAKE!!

And, ummmm, I already posted earlier about the song, and where it was recorded, and when.... Or did you miss that???

Damn mental midgets....

Palin COULD have a political future. She does reach a certain fringe constituency.

Now I owe her and that constituency no favors for sure. But I don't like seeing anyone badly used.

McCain has no political future. This is his last throw. Palin might think carefully (if she can) before she reduces herself to the role of tool for a fading candidate's last stand.

Mccain did get a little bumb when he went neg., then he went to far and got humiliated by the press, figuring he has nothing to lose, he's ready to bring it on again.
Obama just needs to keep on keeping on, and denounce every new smear.
Palin will soon be seen as the vengeful bitch she is, wearing lipstick, and mascara.

It has happened: Palin brought up the Ayres/Obama connection during a stop. I expect the Muslim connection next. McCain's running scared, and he'll stop at nothing to lie about Obama. Can't beat em with facts, attack em with BS.
