Biden gave reason not to vote for Obama

“Just like that, Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden has given voters the single reason why they should not elect Barack Obama president of the United States,” wrote columnist Cal Thomas. “In rambling remarks in Seattle, Biden guaranteed that if Obama is elected president there will be an international incident to ‘test him’ less than six months after his inauguration.”
Thomas cited as historical examples the two Russian tests of John F. Kennedy and, on the flip side, the reaction by the Iranians when Ronald Reagan was elected.
Thomas’ conclusion: “Why shouldn’t a President Obama be tested by the world’s tyrants? And wouldn’t it be better if they feared a President McCain and decided not to put him to the test? Not having a president tested in this way would benefit America, the fragile economy and world order.”

Every single President faces this test. This is not anything that will be special to Senators Obama or McCain. These comments are just another example of media sensation and fire-fanning to sell airtime and commercials.

Yea right! They know that with McCain if they attack America we will respond by invading their ENEMY – not them!

It’s the Americans that fear a president mccain. Obama would pass the test, mccain’s never passed a test in his life.

The media is missing the important part of what Biden said. To the effect of – Obama will react, you won’t think it is the right move, but support it anyway.

If that doesn’t sound like Bush and scare the hell out of you, you must be blind or ignorant.

    Ben,

I see you still do not grasp the concept of what a country endorses and does vs a few of it’s citizens.

It doesn’t surprise me when you can’t even see simple differences between terrorists and nations.

Everything is so “murkey” for you.

    Phantom,

Now why would the terrorists say such a thing? It is fairly obvious that people in America are not going to agree with them.

So it would seem that the terrorists want to taint McCain’s bid for President by supporting him so that Obama will be elected and they can continue to operate with impunity like they did before Bush.

Who cares what Biden said? Al Qaeda endorses John McCain for President.

All of this is just talk. I wouldn’t change my vote just because some party said that there would an attack somewhere.

I am proud to be an independent voter this election.

Bin Laden, Taliban and Al Queda are stronger today than they were when Bush decided to invade Iraq (where they were NOT). Bush has us nearly bankrupt from a war with no end and to what advantage? The radical islam terrorists are still alive and well.

If you think Bush has done a good job – then you’ll LOVE McCain because he will not only continue the insane Iraq War but will invade Iran next and then we’ll see the radical Islam terrorists become even stronger.

Is that what you really want?

    Mom,

How “exactly” are Bin Laden, the Taliban, and Al Queda stronger today?

Last I checked the Taliban didn’t control Afghanistan anymore. They have been reduced to hiding in caves and trying to cause trouble here and there.

They used to be openly in power allowing the terrorists including Bin Laden to train in the open against us.

    Not so much anymore.

So, beyond the talking point, how exactly do you think they are all stronger today?

I would think the terrorist would support McCain. They will be able to give him a heart attack with a good strong scaring, then Palin will be in charge. The terrorists certainly want Palin in office because she has no idea how to negotiate with international leaders and will be quick on the launch button (end times, ya know?) The terrorists would love a President with a nice itchy trigger finger so they can finally get that holy war started.

If you don’t like the idea of “TALKING”, you better start complaining to Bush.

Bush to seek diplomatic presence in Iran
The Bush administration will announce in mid-November, after the presidential election, that it intends to establish the first U.S. diplomatic presence in Iran since the 1979-81 hostage crisis, according to senior Bush administration officials.
    http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2008304841_iran24.html
“While some senior officials said Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice haven’t made a final decision, they and others indicated that the mid-November announcement is a near-certainty.”

They say that generals are always fighting the last war. Looks like some of the soldiers are still trying to fight WWI! Wars aren’t about turf anymore, they are about people. Your dad should have figured that one out during Nam and told you exactly how we managed to win every battle and still lose the war. Al Qaida knows they don’t have to fight us; all they have to do is set the right circumstances in motion, sit back and we’ll defeat ourselves. So far, Bush has done an excellent job of leading us down the path to oblivion the terrorists set for us, and you’ve spent the last seven years cheering him along.

Didn’t bin Laden favor Bush in ‘04? My memory is a little hazy, but it was a video. Many people thought the reason was because bin Laden knew what Bush would do, and it wouldn’t be good for the U.S.. Voters in the U.S. fell for it. Take a look around. Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?

    From Wikipedia:

The release of the tape was reportedly timed to occur just four days before the 2004 U.S. presidential election and bin Laden mentions both of the major contenders, telling Americans: “Your security is not in the hands of Kerry or Bush or al-Qaida. Your security is in your own hands and each state which does not harm our security will remain safe”.

The 2004 tape boosted the popularity of American President George W. Bush. President Bush opened up a six-point lead over his opponent Senator John Kerry in the first opinion poll to include sampling taken after the videotape was broadcast.

bin Laden knew what he was doing.

Here’s what I alluded to the other day.
Al-Qaida-linked Web site backs McCain as president

By PAMELA HESS – 1 day ago
    http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iFK9c9KTpdbjhYyuWIlZyAuyqeJgD93VA3B80

WASHINGTON (AP) — Al-Qaida supporters suggested in a Web site message this week they would welcome a pre-election terror attack on the U.S. as a way to usher in a McCain presidency.

The message, posted Monday on the password-protected al-Hesbah Web site, said if al-Qaida wants to exhaust the United States militarily and economically, “impetuous” Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain is the better choice because he is more likely to continue the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“This requires presence of an impetuous American leader such as McCain, who pledged to continue the war till the last American soldier,” the message said. “Then, al-Qaida will have to support McCain in the coming elections so that he continues the failing march of his predecessor, Bush.”

SITE Intelligence Group, based in Bethesda, Md., monitors the Web site and translated the message.

“If al-Qaida carries out a big operation against American interests,” the message said, “this act will be support of McCain because it will push the Americans deliberately to vote for McCain so that he takes revenge for them against al-Qaida. Al-Qaida then will succeed in exhausting America till its last year in it.”

Mark Salter, a senior McCain adviser, said he had heard about the Web site chatter but had no immediate comment.

The message is credited to a frequent and apparently respected contributor named Muhammad Haafid. However, Haafid is not believed to have a direct affiliation with al-Qaida plans or knowledge of its operations, according to SITE.

SITE senior analyst Adam Raisman said this message caught SITE’s attention because there has been little other chatter on the forums about the U.S. election.

SITE was struck by the message’s detailed analysis — and apparent jubilation — about American financial woes.

“What we try to do is get the pulse of the jihadist community,” Raisman said. “And it’s about the financial crisis.”

Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden issued a videotape just four days before the 2004 U.S. presidential election directly addressing the American people.
