Polls give every indication that Kansas will go for John McCain in November, just as it has for every Republican presidential nominee since 1964. But Barack Obama’s campaign will try hard to shake up the electoral map, as evidenced by its weekend opening of offices in Wichita, Lawrence and Mission. “We’re building this movement in Kansas from bottom up, not the top down,” said Samantha Finke McCain, state director of Obama for America. Meanwhile, McCain doesn’t yet have a Kansas office; his campaign Web site refers Kansans to a regional headquarters in Centennial, Colo.
And beyond Kansas, Associated Press reports that rather than continue with its “50-state strategy,” the Obama campaign “is quietly eyeing a states’ map similar to the one used in past elections, with some exceptions.” He is advertising in about 16 states.

McCain just takes Kansas for granted. He ignores Kansas now and he’ll ignore us like he did when he supported sending defense contracts to France.
Thats funny. C-Span’s Washington Journal just reported about thirty minutes ago that the Obama campaign is abandoning the much ballyhooed fifty state strategy that Howard Dean and others have been touting and instead will concentrate on the key battleground States. Can you feel it slipping?
I believe the 50 state strategy to be a mistake.
Some states (Kansas) simply cannot be saved from their own stupid people.
I give you Chrisfrommactown. About to go off and spend his day working to make someone else money and proud, oh PROUD to vote for the people with their foot on his throat. How’s it feel to know McCain considers you a “given” Chris?

BJ, It sounds to me that you are the stupid one. When one goes to work, they are making money for their family so that they can pay their own bills. And if you want to talk about paying someone else’s bill, it is the WORKING people, that is the middle class, that is paying the bill of those who don’t work and collect welfare and free medical care. If it weren’t for the WORKING people, our poor would truly be poor. So be thankful for the WORKING people. Amazing how the liberal dems say they are for the WORKING people but then they go and put down and attack the WORKING people.
And maybe you should get your own foot off of your own throat and open your eyes. If you were to actually get out of Kansas and go to another state, you would find that they have the same mix of people that Kansas does. There is no such thing as a true blue state or red state where only conservatives or liberals live, we are a mixed group of people. Get over yourself thinking that you are the one that is living in a backwards state just because you live among people who value faith, hard work, character and integrity. If you don’t like, you can always leave, you still have that freedom.
Smart campagins target the voters. Why Obama is wasting money in Kansas makes no sense. Perhaps it has to do with his relationship with Kathleen.
Let him waste money on states he cannot win. It means less money in the state he could win.
“Borg”?
If you punch the clock to make money for someone else?
And you vote Republican? You’re just as dumb as Chris and millions more like him.
Puhleeze,
If Obama didn’t have relations here, he would consider Kansas another fly over state.
Of course, Obama can afford to set up an office here in Kansas. Refusing to participate in campaign finance reform, Obama has now collected almost half a billion dollars. Obama is buying his way to the Presidency by media storming and flooding the market with hype and hyperbole.
There is no such thing as a true blue state or red state where only conservatives or liberals live, we are a mixed group of people.
Then the EC vote should reflect this and be divided as such, instead of a winner-take-all.

JR I know you have very strong opinions. I can appreciate this.
Do you consider yourself to be a Socialist?
Serious sincere question. I always took you for liberal but not a socialist.
Your posts here however sound that way.
Just curious.
That’s because mccain couldn’t care less about Kansans.
When you can take a states vote for granted, you tend to ignore that state, so it has been, so it will continue to be, until people get fed up, and wise up.
