Good for John McCain and Barack Obama for deciding not to run negative ads on Sept. 11, the seventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks. (McCain’s campaign said he won’t run any ads at all.) All local and state candidates should do likewise that day, and heed the call by MyGoodDeed.org to make Sept. 11 a national day of voluntary service. Too bad it’s too much to hope for a moratorium on attack ads that would last through Nov. 4.

I wonder if the Rosie O’Donnell followers will do the same?
After all, they think Bush blew up the twin towers, launched a missile into the Pentagon and shot down the aircraft over Pennsylvania.
I don’t think it will happen. You know if they were to agree to it, someone on the other side would break the agreement.
Anyway, it’s freedom of speech and no one cares anymore who they offend as long as they have their freedom of speech or choice.
And since when did the media start caring about what happened on 9/11? They act as though the only ones who were hurt in this deal were the Iraqis or their precious Saddam. They should have cared about the victims of that day in the twin towers, the pentagon and United 93.
To do this day, they still act as though the Americans were the guilty party and excuse the real enemy of that day, the terrorists. They know that the only ones who would honor 9/11 are the the republicans, we know who the real enemy was and who the real victims were. The democrat party gave Saddam the benefit of the doubt along with the terrorists he supported.
It is a shame, the days that followed the attack everywhere you look there were Americans. There was no Blue American or Red Americans just Americans. I went to the local Movie Theater and something happen I do not recall every seeing at a theater. When the image of the flag appeared on the screen and the national anthem started playing over the speakers. One and all stood and crossed their hearts!
Sadly those days seem to have been more than seven years ago and now seem more to have just been a dream. Yes if no other day, on September 11th we should be of one heart and mind. No Republicans or Democratic there is just Americans. It should be everyday that we feel that way, as what happens to one happens to all in this country.
But that seem to be a dream idea too, no outside force can divide us or defeat us only we can do that.
Yesterday I hear someone quote Pogo “ we has met the enemy and they is us!”.
We the people have one goal and that’s to keep America AMERICA. LORD i pray that the leaders of America will do for America as they Do for other countries that are not.
Obama is a nobody.
Obama wrote a book.
That book is FALSE on several fronts.
Obama was elected to the Illinois legislature.
Obama used corrupt, South-Side Chicago politics and radical political connections to get there.
Obama then used his “experience”:
Writing a FALSE BOOK and voting “present” frequently, in the Illinois legislature, to run for United States Senate.
After becomming a Senator, Obama CAMPAIGNED for Raila Odinga, in Kenya. Odinga is a Marxist leaning pro-Muslim candidate, in a mostly Christian country.
When Odinga lost, Odinga claimed “voter fraud” and the Luo tribe, to which Obama and Odinga belong, burned down scores of Christian Churches. Not a single Mosque was burned.
When Odinga lost, gang rapes and murders, by the Luo tribe, against their rivals, took place all over the country.
Thousands died.
Condi Rice realized that the Luo tribe might listen to Obama, so she had Obama tape a “Voice of America” spot, urging calm and peace.
I give credit to Obama for trying to “fix” the problem, after the fact.
However, Obama helped CAUSE the initial problem in the FIRST PLACE!
Obama was in Kenya on, supposedly, and “AID’s tour”.
However, Obama made sure that Odinga got his picture taken, right next to Obama, in every stop that they made, in Kenya. Raila Odinga, the Marxist Islamic Luo tribesman, supported by Obama, could have stopped the violence from happening in the first place, if HE had asked for calm.
He never did!
Raila Odinga, Obama’s endorsed candidate, ENCORAGED the rioting and bloodshed.
So, in short, the American people deserve to know these things.
Obama has no real accomplishments.
What Obama HAS done, Obama would rather you not hear about.
And, lets not forget, Obama has attacked McCain for the number of houses that the McCain family owns.
One of those houses is used by his Aunt.
At the same time, Obama allows his BROTHER to live in a shack, with no plumbing and a dirt floor.
At the same time, Obama makes money off of a book which was, in part, about his “friend” Ray Kakugawa, from Punahou prep school, the same privaleged prep school Obama attended. (Obama’s White grandparents, whom Obama disses all the time, sacrificed greatly to send Obama to this elite school. The tuition, today, is roughly $17,000.00 a year.)
Ray Kakagawa has fallen on hard times. The Wall Street Journal has tracked down “Ray”. In addition to saying that Hawaii was NOT a hostile racial environment for either himself or Obama (Which directly refutes Obama’s book, Ray is half Japanese and half Black) —
Ray Kakagawa says that he tried to get Obama to help him, after he was recently released from prison.
This was in March of 2007.
Obama cut off his “friend” who he had used in his own book, to make money.
Obama never helped his friend.
Obama will not take Ray’s calls.
“Whatsoever you do, for the least of my BROTHERS” Obama preaches in his phoney speeches.
In real life? Obama lets a former room mate, and his real BROTHER, live in abject poverty.
This, after Obama makes money off of a book about his family and his friends!
I am getting better at ignoring the attack ads.
Definition of an attack ad: any add that tells the truth about your candidate.
Like the bogus claims that Omaba’s birth certificate is fake? Or that he is a secret Islamic extremist?
Chris – maybe you’ll like THESE attacks:
http://www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com/
Those Vietnam war veterans sure know how to tell the TRUTH in their attack ads! I would have seen them more as politics as usual before Chrisfrommactown informed of what they really are!
Actually, Colonel Bud Day, a medal of honor winner, who was in the same POW camp as McCain, confirms that McCain was treated harshly and abused by his captors.
If you call McCain a liar, then you have to call Colonel Day a liar as well, an eye witness.
That’s hard to do.
Obama has made admissions, in his own book, that he later denied.
Obama has also left out huge segments of his life, in his own books.
Obama has also made up characters, out of thin air, in his own “autobiography” —
Nobody is perfect, but Obama is a fraud.
Obama has a very, very privileged life, as far as education was concerned.
Obama’s White Grandmother paid for that education, but Obama threw her under the buss.
Even Jessie Jackson has admitted that he feels nervous, when followed by young Black men.
However? Obama’s mother is pan handled, aggressively, by a Black man, and Obama thinks her complaint, about that event, is “racist”??
Obama wanted badly to identify with American Black culture.
Obama was abandoned by his Black Father and his Black Step Father, and later his White Mother.
The man wants to belong. The man wants to be liked.
That is understandable. Taken to the extreme, however, it can also be a fault.
Obama has presented a false account of “racism” towards himself that is not factual.
Obama benefited from a PRIVATE, expensive High School, in multi-ethnic Hawaii. Obama then went to Harvard.
Obama had to establish “street creds” as he really had not been treated poorly by anyone not related to him.
For this reason, Obama writes a completely ficticious “autobiography” and Obama goes to Kenya and makes thinks worse for the Kenyan people!
This story sure reeks of b.s.
:On 26 August1967, Air Force Maj. George “Bud” Day was forced to eject from his aircraft over North Vietnam when it was hit by ground fire.
During the ejection, his right arm was broken in 3 places, and his left knee badly sprained. Upon landing, Day was immediately captured by hostile forces and taken to a prison camp where he was hung upside down and severely tortured for two days.
Day managed to escape on September 1. Barefooted and severely crippled, he traveled south for 2 days outrunning enemy soldiers who were using dogs … both of his feet became bruised and cut from sharp rocks and battle debris.
On September 3, Day was wounded again from either a bomb or rocket. The blast ruptured his eardrums and sinuses. Shrapnel cut large open wounds in his right leg. He became disoriented and began vomiting blood and lost equilibrium. Totally debilitated, he crawled into bushes and lay hidden for two days.
Although seriously wounded, with an arm broken in 3 places, a severely swollen knee, ruptured eardrums, large open wounds in his leg, vomiting blood and no equilibrium, Day managed to resume his escape south on September 5. Existing only on berries and two raw frogs, he wandered aimlessly for several more days.
Despite all his broken bones and other injuries, on approximately September 8, Day swam the Ben Hai River which marked the boundaries of the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Vietnam. For another week, Day evaded communist patrols in South Vietnam.
Sometime on or about September 15, Day was surprised by an enemy patrol. Although, shot and wounded again, this time in his left hand and thigh, he managed to escape once more, staying on the run for another day and a half.
On Sept.17, 22 days after being shot down, Day was recaptured and marched to a POW camp back in North Vietnam. The communists tortured him for 48 hours straight causing him to become totally incapacitated and unable perform even the simplest task. His wounds festered into dangerous infection and his captors continued to refuse him medical treatment.
Sometime in middle November, Day was sent north to the infamous Hoa Lo prison camp where he was subjected to non-stop torture and refused any type of medical treatment. Finally, this captors had totally destroyed him physically.
Near the end of November, about two months after Day was shot down, he was placed into a prison cell with U.S. POW Norris Overly.
In December, the Vietnamese put seriously injured POW John McCain in the cell with Day and Overly. They took care of McCain until he was able to walk again.
By involving his Medal of Honor in politics and using it as an authority to trash other veterans, Day has “opened up his character as a war hero” for criticism. Day planted the standard for himself when he said that “Kerry’s character is not only fair game, it is the primary issue.”
Day’s character and the legitimacy of his Medal of Honor “is not only fair game, it is the primary issue.”
Military regulation requires that before the award of a Medal of Honor can be considered, unquestionable proof in the form of eyewitnesses must be provided.
Day had no witnesses because he was alone. Why was the “eye witnesses” requirement waived for Day?
Who approved Day for the Medal of Honor and did McCain or his admiral father have anything to do with it?
John McCain and Bud Day have formed a political tag team to deflect inquiries about McCain’s questionable conduct while in captivity. They have cynically used the Medal of Honor as a shield – but in the process they have stained it.
I would suggest doing more thorough background checks in the National Archives, before assailing Colonel Day’s record.
Assailing someone on the Internet with Internet originated files is willful misrepresentation of evidence produced for and presented to the Department of the Defense and the United States Congress.
You may wish to reconsider the authenticity of your unsubstantiated information.
You libs are such hypocrites.
First, you tell us that the relatively harmless act of “waterboarding” is torture and should be illegal.
Then, when confronted with Veterans who have experienced REAL, and very brutal, torture, you second guess what they did under those circumstances?
American Liberalism excuses treason and trashes our true heroism.
Paul – those are veterans on that site. Just like the ones you used against Kerry. Can you PROVE their allegations false?
Did a little more reading, he’s also one of the swiftboater, ’nuff said.
swiftboaters
If that’s his story, then I say it’s bullshit. He’d make John wayne and gene autry look like sissies.
Very interesting that to award the medal of honor, eyewitnesses are required. He had no eyewitnesses and had the audicity to question kerry’s medals?
One thing that McCain and his supporters better get used to is this:
Thanks to Augustus Stupidus’s campaign of 2004, no limits exist when it comes to denigrating or even lying about another’s military service.
The only rule is this one: if you can make enough voters believe it, then the reality that’s created is the only reality that matters.
Honor due to political candidates based on military service no longer exists, period. It’s all morally relative, thanks to the GOP. Get used to it.
Did McCain give up any secret codes?
Did McCain give up any secret locations of American forces?
Did McCain refute testimony from any other prisoner, or cause any other POW to be beaten or killed?
NO, to all the above.
However, John Kerry absolutely DID meet with our communist enemy, by choice, against military regulations.
John Kerry did team up with Jane Fonda, who absolutely got our POW’s beaten for trying to pass notes to her.
Not the same guys.
Also, McCain did not like the attacks against Kerry.
That should immunize him, somewhat.
Don’t be surprised if John Kerry comes to the defense of McCain. Afterall, the charges against Kerry were mostly true, and the charges against McCain are mostly false.
If McCain was beaten to the point that he gave some statements of propaganda value to the North?
So what?
John Kerry was never tortured or beaten by anyone, and John Kerry gave the Communists all kinds of propaganda by his own free choice!
The difference between Colonel Bud Day and Senator John Kerry’s military service on the fundamental level is that Colonel Day affirmed his duty consistently and held up the highest traditions of the military even after his retirement.
Senator Kerry, on the other hand, despoiled his service by being an antagonist, symbolically throwing away his medals and generally turned his back on what he had done in the military or what the military had done for him.
Regardless of the individual records of the two men, only Colonel Day remained consistent to the official record – Senator Kerry did not and adamantly rejected the honors bestowed him.
If you throw away honor and later try to reclaim it, one is left with a scar. Senator Kerry is left with a permanent scar from self-inflicted political and ideological wounds.
That leaves Colonel Day with an unblemished and consistent record of honor and clarity in statements.
Nope, doesn’t work that way.
Bud Day, John Kerry, John McCain, all the same to me. Military service is irrelevant because military service records are now up for editing by any bozo with a keyboard, an internet connection, and two brain cells to rub together.
Not impressed by military service, sorry.
Like I said, get used to it.
You liberals had criticized the military for decades.
Then, when you finally run a veteran?
You picked John Kerry, a man who has NEVER released his full military record, a man who had to have Jimmy Carter clean up part of his service record, for him!
You picked John Kerry, a man who made friends with “Hanoi Jane” Fonda, who posed in a the seat of a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun, and a women who “snitched” on several POW’s who tried to pass her notes about torture?
You picked John Kerry, a man who had several FAKE “veterans” testify about “war crimes” in Vietnam, only to find out later that many of Kerry’s “witnesses” had NEVER been to Vietnam in their entire lives?
Not the same liberals.
By the way, you libs also were caught in a lie about George W. Bush and his National Guard service.
George W. Bush flew Combat Air Patrol in an airplane fully equiped to shoot down Soviet bombers.
Many of the pilots who served with George W. Bush were injured or killed in training or in the line of duty. It was a dangerous job.
However, Dan Rather and you nut case libeals tried to trash Bush with false “Microsoft Word” documents from the Vietnam era!
This attack on McCain will suffer the same fate.
Those who try to attack McCain will only ruin themselves, just as Dan Rather ruined himself.
Only some veterans deserve honor. And there is always someone willing to tell us which ones do or don’t. The circumstances change but be assured ONLY some veterans should be honored. /sarcasm
Pedant had it right above (at 2:14):

Yawn.
McCain needs to stand on his own two feet, just like any other candidate.
Military service has been rendered completely irrelevant.
As mentioned previously, if you don’t check the official records, then utilizing the Internet for your source material explains the statement of gullibility made here thus far.
I’m sure those with ideological differences that have assailed Colonel Day, would not want the Internet to be used as the sole source of people deciding what kind of people they are.
Pedant
Speak for yourself.
When you do a better jof of that, maybe someone else will let you speak for someone other than yourself.
Obamanation is largely based on bloggers post.
John Kerry used the interent to post part of his military record.
He quickly took down one posted document.
It was a letter from Navy Secretary William Claytor.
Claytor served as Navy Secretary under Jimmy Carter.
Why was Jimmy Carter’s Navy Secretary involved in the discharge of John Kerry?
Well, that very letter cited a “review board” and regulations that make clear what happened:
John Kerry had a less than honorable discharge upgraded to “Honorable” under the Jimmy Carter Amnesty Program!
http://www.usvetdsp.com/may08/day_bud_moh.htm
What some veterans have to say about Day and McCain:
Politicizing the Congressional Medal of Honor
Col. Bud Day, his Medal of Honor and the McCain campaign’s abuse of our nation’s highest award for valor.
I said long ago, the swiftboaters defiled all military medals when the questioned the validity and attacked kerry for his.
Kerry pitched medals over a fence (not his), Day whores his out for the repub. party. Who’s dissed their medals the most?
“How war hero John McCain betrayed the Vietnamese peasant who saved his life”
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-542277/How-war-hero-John-McCain-betrayed-Vietnamese-peasant-saved-life.html
Bud Day and John McCain are both subject to the same treatment John Kerry got, if you ask me.
Sorry, but here’s the deal. If we as a society agree to ignore how the military itself judges service, and instead to open it up to second-guessing any time its convenient for political grandstanding, fine. That’s cool by me.
However, it means that military service no longer means squat because now it’s just another tool for partisanship, for polemics.
So like I said, deal with it: military service is irrelevant.
We know that John Kerry served under Richard Nixon, for the end of his term.
In fact, John Kerry LIED about “Christmas in Cambodia” under the “order” of Nixon.
In fact, during that particular Christmas, LBJ was still President, and Nixon had not yet been sworn in.
LBJ: Kerry begins service.
Nixon: Kerry should have been discharged
Ford: Kerry should have been out
Carter: Kerry has a “discharge” upgrade.
Benedict Arnold was a hero, until he was a traitor.
John McCain was always a hero.
John Kerry? If he was ever a hero, he was more Benedict Arnold than John McCain.
More swift-boating …

“Did McCain give up any secret codes?

NO, to all the above.”
Not according to THIS:
U.S. documents proving
POW McCain seriously “collaborated” . . . listed below are 5 transcripts of approximately 20 interviews McCain gave the communist.

betrayed?
How was he betrayed, Ben?
He may have been forgotten, but what was McCain supposed to do for the guy?
Did he ask for help that McCain denied?
Yawn.
McCain’s military record is subject to the judgment of the military, period. It ain’t your place to judge his service, Kerry’s service, or Bud Day’s service. If you ask me.
If you insist on judging away anyway, cool.
But don’t expect me to read your crap, much less believe an iota of it.
above, John Kerry served under Richard Nixon, for the end of Kerry’s TOUR, (not term)
John Kerry never released his entire military record, and what John Kerry DID release (by mistake) was not very helpful to John Kerry.
McCain received an HONORABLE DISCHARGE.
McCain did NOT use the Jimmy Carter Amnesty Program to upgrade his discharge.
John Kerry can NOT make the same claim.
Yes, Franklin the party activist, the guy who “always comes here with a plan,” oh yeah let’s let FRANKLIN judge John Kerry’s service.
Or Bud Day’s service.
Or John McCain’s service.
I can see that some here remain unconvinced.
Let me demonstrate this another way. This is not a game when you assign libelous statements on a person or persons.
You might state that Senator Kerry was libeled yet, he did not sue nor did he challenge officially any statements by the group. He could have and might have actually won in some regard, if the statements made were not back up by the official record. However, Senator Kerry did not challenge those statements and it is his loss.
The VVAJM will be find themselves in the near future as part of a lawsuit that will shut down their Website and hold its sponsor for liable. They willfully publish facts not in evidence and made the mistake of impugning person or persons by disregarding official evidence.
I wouldn’t put much stock in their future.
And, again, fellow Bloggers:
BTH, or Ben, was the staunchest defender of McCain, and the most outspoken against McCain’s detractors, in the primary.
Ben is playing politics.
Nothing wrong with that, as long as you don’t try to pass yourself off as anything else but a hack.

Yes It’s true I learned it in anatomy of the eye and the retina can adjust after 48 hours of being hung upside down because the eye firstly sees images that way but flips it around so you can balance properly.

Not only was day crippled when he escaped his captors, but he must have been seeing upside down! I bet he eluded them by walking on his hands, even though he had broken arms!
Ben,
What goes around comes around?
Once again, the idea of attacking someones military record didn’t start with Kerry.
Your side is STILL attacking Bush about his and did so during both his runs for President.
bush has/had no significan medals.
Your side is STILL attacking Bush about his and did so during both his runs for President.
Okay, let’s leave aside the truth about what Bush did (or didn’t do) in the National Guard.
Take a good look at the attacks on McCain at that website. They attack him for “cracking” and talking, and making a “Jane Fonda” radio broadcast. They attack him for his nuanced views of immigration, and for supposedly having a former Mexican government official on his staff.
In short, these people are not “us.” In fact, they’re part of the Republican base that’s been giving him fits.
. .. which makes it all that much more fun to watch! :)
Obama’s no different then any other politician.
His attack ads will be just as deep down in the gutter as anyone else.
Your almighty Obama’s white robe is already soiled by the sewer he’s dug into.
Change – my ass.
“Nothing wrong with that, as long as you don’t try to pass yourself off as anything else but a hack.”
From the biggest political hack around – Paul (aka Franklin).
Paul, all I am doing is posting links to what his fellow veterans are saying about McCain. Just repaying the Swiftboat favor so to speak.

Truth? truth?, Rage you don’t even have a passing acquaintance with the truth. The Presidents been kicking your ass for eight years (even longer if you count the Texas years), yet you still try to portray him as some stupid dolt who can’t even tie his shoes. You come up with pithy names like “Augustus Stupidus” and go hehehehehe.
You wax nostalgia about the Clinton years, yet he betrayed every Democrat principle with NAFTA, WTO, Welfare reform etc. He also led your party into twelve years in the wilderness and could not even pass the presidency on to his V.P. Still you hail this guy as some kind of hero. That sounds like the definition of stupidity to me.
There was a time I could have supported McCain. Back in 2000 he seemed like a breath of fresh air from the partisan ‘politics as usual.’ Unfortunately he got ’swiftboated’ himself in South carolina – the ‘push polls’ claiming an illegitimate black child. The articles about that I have seen indicate a Rove source for that – of course there are those who claim otherwise. I have even seen it suggested that McCin himself had it done to get some sort of sympathy vte.
In the early days of this campaign season it seemed for a while that the “Straight Talk Express” was back and Maverick McCain was back. Then something happened. It seems that McCain has sold out to precisely those factions who had been his enemy in 2000.
Since the end of the primaries he has distanced himself from some of that – Hagee and Parsley notably. However, we have been seeing typical Rovian tactics against Obama – that his birth certificate if forged, he is a secret Muslim extremist, etc. Meanwhile, some rather interesting questions have been emerging about McCain – from his fellow veterans. In effect; the whole Swiftboat thing is happening again – just this time McCain is the target.
The standard established in 2004 is that the target of the attack must prove the attack false. So, using that standard – one established by McCain’s allies – McCain must prove these charges false. Unfair? Perhaps. But no more unfair than 2004.
Just as my personal experience with the absolute lies from Godarchy in 1994 targeting me colors my attitude toward those associated with Godarchy so the whole Swiftboat thing has left a legacy in American politics.
I wonder if VietNam will be the only war NOT to have a veteran become president? If McCain loses this year there will likely not be another chance.
Heh, I guess Chris can’t tell us liberals apart!
I’ll leave it at that.
On a barren planet, in a distant universe, lives a sorry soul, bent on destroying all that gets in his way. His modus operendi consists of dreaming things that could only be dreamt in a mind seriously in need of Prozac, then foisting it off on people he paranoically believes to have differing thoughts than himself. He udderly believes that by doing so, he will convert the worlds into believing he is their savior.
Problem is: those same people have both intelligence, and a sense of humor, which means chuckling is the most effective shield.
Ladies and gentlepharts, I give you:

Chuckle at will!
The problem, other than the “politics”, of the Viet Nam era, was how blind patriotism was so blatantly used by whatever faction was in power. For instance, the “My country, right or wrong,” used by Republicans should have elicited at least a Nazi, Germany, comparison. It didn’t. Why? There was a very unpopular draft, race riots, Watergate, Kent State and other government blunders too many to innumerate.
So where were the people trying to stop all this? Lumped as one into a dope smoking, draft dodging loser waste. Turns out that “lump” was right, and they have been instrumental in the fact there is a black man nominated by his party to run for President of the United States, much to the chagrin of the old white boy network. If that ain’t change, I don’t know what is. Too have lived to see it is awesome.
Whether I vote for him or not is another story.
You people are so predictable. Bush must be impeached, not because of any high crimes and misdemeanors he committed, but to avenge Bill Clinton who not only deserved to be impeached, but should have been removed from office also.
Likewise, McCain must be “swiftboated”, not because he did anything dishonorable during his time as a POW, but to avenge John Kerry who attempted to pass himself off as a thrice decorated war hero, but in truth was as phony as a Chicago election.
Well I guess since your candidate and his running mate are so weak, you probably think your only hope is to lie and trash a genuine American hero. So sad and so predictable.

… a genuine American hero.

No such creature, thanks to Augustus Stupidus.
You guys just don’t understand what happened in 2004, not even a little bit.
Maybe ALL media should take the high road, and simply say they will NOT air any political ads on 9/11 AT ALL…. Then neither campaign will have to point a finger at the other…. :-)
Welcome to the world of Blog Monitoring KansasNative.
Most of the Swift Boat Veterans charges against John Kerry were proven TRUE —
Even if you do not want to admit it.
Ben
Rove had absolutely NOTHING to do with any “negative push polling” against McCain, especially as regards any child of McCains.
That story is bogus.
You hang on to it, and repeat it constantly, but it simply has NO basis in fact.
This was a false story, pushed on McCain, by one of McCain’s own people with an ax to grind.
There is NO truth to it.
If you cared about truth, you would quit repeating it.
Show me ONE witness, ONE person, who actually RECEIVED such a phone call, would you please?
JM
Every word of my post, that you REPOSTED, is absolutely true, (Of course I did clarify it, on my own) —
John Kerry told a bold faced LIE:
Kerry claimed that Nixon ordered Kerry into Cambodia, over Christmas. The truth? LBJ was still President at that time.
Also, John Kerry is the one who alerted us to his discharge upgrade. John Kerry posted a document, on his own webpage, that showed, clearly, that Navy Secretary Claytor, in the Carter Administration, upgraded John Kerry’s original discharge.

An official Navy document on Senator Kerry’s campaign Web site listed as Mr. Kerry’s “Honorable Discharge from the Reserves” opens a door on a well kept secret about his military service.
The document is a form cover letter in the name of the Carter administration’s secretary of the Navy, W. Graham Claytor. It describes Mr. Kerry’s discharge as being subsequent to the review of “a board of officers.” This in it self is unusual. There is nothing about an ordinary honorable discharge action in the Navy that requires a review by a board of officers.
According to the secretary of the Navy’s document, the “authority of reference” this board was using in considering Mr. Kerry’s record was “Title 10, U.S. Code Section 1162 and 1163. “This section refers to the grounds for involuntary separation from the service. What was being reviewed, then, was Mr. Kerry’s involuntary separation from the service. And it couldn’t have been an honorable discharge, or there would have been no point in any review at all. The review was likely held to improve Mr. Kerry’s status of discharge from a less than honorable discharge to an honorable discharge.
A Kerry campaign spokesman, David Wade, was asked whether Mr. Kerry had ever been a victim of an attempt to deny him an honorable discharge. There has been no response to that inquiry.
The document is dated February 16, 1978. But Mr. Kerry’s military commitment began with his six-year enlistment contract with the Navy on February 18, 1966. His commitment should have terminated in 1972. It is highly unlikely that either the man who at that time was a Vietnam Veterans Against the War leader, John Kerry, requested or the Navy accepted an additional six year reserve commitment. And the Claytor document indicates proceedings to reverse a less than honorable discharge that took place sometime prior to February 1978.”
That’s odd… I dont see any post by KansasNative …. You got the right thread, Regular??

Every word of my post, that you REPOSTED, is absolutely true, (Of course I did clarify it, on my own) ================================================
Only on the planet Wango.
Franklin, you are not linking with any verifiable data… You are still fighting the 2004 election…. It is over…. Try to concentrate on the accident waiting to happen in your corner… John McCain….

Rove had absolutely NOTHING to do with any “negative push polling” against McCain, especially as regards any child of McCains.
That story is bogus.
This was a false story, pushed on McCain, by one of McCain’s own people with an ax to grind.
There is NO truth to it.
===========================================
Do you have proof of what you claim about Rove’s involvement (or lack thereof)???
There IS truth to the fact that the story happened,…. And NOW you claim, it was done by one of McCain’s own people…. “with an axe to grind.” Or maybe to get sympathy votes for McCain, and make Bush look like a cheap Ho???
Franklin, if you want to keep on making such blanket, wide sweeping statements, PLEASE do so with appropriate links… Thats the least you can do if you want anybody to believe the LIES….
While you are at it, check this out:

Thanks!!
Paul – I posted extensive evidence linking the push polls to both Rove and to one of the right-wing “Christian” schools (Bob Jones I think) back there. But, since it was really done by McCain to himself then I guess you are telling us he really IS a sleaze.
They’re Paying Attention Now
August 22, 2008, By PEGGY NOONAN
The American people have begun paying attention.
“It’s hard for our political class to remember that Mr. Obama has been famous in America only since the winter of ‘08. America met him barely six months ago! The political class first interviewed him, or read the interview, in 2003 or ‘04, when he was a rising star. They know him. Everyone else is still absorbing.
This is what they see:
An attractive, intelligent man, interesting, but—he’s hard to categorize. Is he Gen. Obama? No, no military background. Brilliant Businessman Obama? No, he never worked in business. Famous Name Obama? No, it’s a new name, an unusual one. Longtime Southern Governor Obama? No. He’s a community organizer (what’s that?), then a lawyer (boo), then a state legislator (so what, so’s my cousin), then U.S. senator (less than four years!).
His uniqueness, once his great power, is now his great problem.”
I’m loving it…this should be both interesting and fun.
I have a feeling we are learning a lot about BOTH candidates. This may increase the importance of running mate – both in regards to what he/she brings to the ticket but also as an indication of the candidate’s judgement.
And then, of course, we will see lots of clips like those they have already run of Biden about Obama. I wonder who McCain will pick … and what he has said about McCain.
Chas
Read carefully:
IT NEVER HAPPENED!
Nobody on the Bush campaign EVER did such a negative push poll.
Nobody has ever come forward, claiming that they RECEIVED such a push poll.
Someone on the McCain campaign heard a rumor, in the heat of the campaign.
McCain should not have believed the rumor.
McCain has since put the whole thing behind him.
The ONLY people to bring it up, anymore, are leftist nut cakes like you.
JM
Why did Navy Secretary William Claytor, in the Jimmy Carter administration, have anything at all to do with the John Kerry’s discharge?
Chas
NOPE, Kerry is still an issue, since the “Swiftboating” of Kerry was honest and justified.
If you lefties let Kerry drop, so will I.
However, Your side always brings up his name, first.
When you do? I will respond with the truth about John Kerry, the anti-war activist who libeled and slandered true American heroes.
Hmm got to this one late.
Well I don’t care much about the topic. And things have wandered far from it anyway.
Paulie? You and your posts here came up at the little impromptu meetup the other evening.
Resolved? By those attending?
1. You are a proll. That is a poster paid to post here.
2. Whoever is paying you is really wasting there money since…
3. You are an absolute joke to any frequent reader here. If you did not exist we would have to invent you in parody.
4. You are, in fact, the guy I chased off my lawn with a water hose.

“There IS truth to the fact that the story happened,…. And NOW you claim, it was done by one of McCain’s own people…. “with an axe to grind.” Or maybe to get sympathy votes for McCain, and make Bush look like a cheap Ho???”
Now what is your argument??
BTW, FRANKLIN… I never brought up Kerry to this discussion…
Chas
So what?
Others did.
You told ME what I could say.
I told YOU that I would talk about Kerry, whenever anyone else brought up Kerry.
The accusation happened?
So what, Chas, that is ALL YOU GOT!
That is like saying the “Duke Rape Case Happened” just because the accusation made the news and made it into court.
Nobody ever came forward to confirm such a “push poll” was received by anyone.
The entire Bush campaign can not be held responsible for what independent actors do and say.
Louis Farrakhan has endorsed Obama. Is Obama now responsible for all the times Farrakhan has used the term “White Devils”???
There were no negative push polls concerning McCains adopted child. There isn’t a single witness who has come forward to claim otherwise.
Even if such a witness did come forward, that does NOT show that any such poll was authorized by the Bush campaign.
Give it a rest. It is pure BS.

That man thinks that I am a “joke”??
You know a man by his enemies, I guess.
I am glad that I have many things to be proud of.
Down there at the bottom of the list? Probably after at least 100 other items?
The fact that BJ doesn’t think much of me is a small plus, I guess.
Now you start with the personal attacks… Might be a good time to call it a nite, Franklin….
Good night; Good luck; God bless —-
Whatever you conceive God to be!!
Blessings ALL!!
So mote it be!!
Let him rant Chas.
He’s comic relief. A whole ROOM full of progressives agrees. We WANT paulie posting here.
From his bragging that he was recruited by thugs to beat up people in parks….
through his claim that he had email from my girlfriend that I did not have…
To his advocacy that george bush’s face be carved into Mt. Rushmore…
Toss in his use of capitalization to marginalize “Blacks” from “Whites”.
Paul F Rosell, econ 101, Franklin, or whatever nic he chooses next is the blog joke.
Gee, Jay, and here I just thought he was the Blog Shill… LOL
And now, may the Flying Spaghetti Monster smile graciously on your taste buds, as you savor the thought of that divine juice dripping over your mound of pasta!!
Ohhhhh it’s SOO good!!!
Nite all!!!
Chas
The fake “minister” proves his fraud, again, by bringing up the “flying spaghetti monster” — an Atheist attack on faith.
You libs need to remember Obama’s mentor. Saul Alinsky taught that radicals should avoid terms that offend, and use terms that attract large groups.
Obama also used Alinsky’s methods to recruit political activists IN CHURCH! (Needless to say, Obama did not use the Atheist FSM jokes with them.)
BJ
You are delusional.
Anyone can fill a room full of people who agree –
Also, BJ, many on your side know that you are nuts. Why would anyone be honest with you, if there ever was any disagreement?
Chas?
Personal attacks?
Well, I guess if you remind everyone of the attacks someone else has made, that is personal —
BTW, it is also taught, by Saul Alinsky, that leftist radicals should make fun of their opponents, when the facts and the issues are not on their side.
So, BJ always makes fun of people he does not agree with. If BJ was trained by Alinsky’s book, or by someone who has read Alinsky, as the Clintons and Obama have been trained, that means that when BJ’s atttacks start, he has run out of facts.
That usually happens rather quickly.
