Roberts in the clear?

Rasmussen Reports’ latest telephone poll in Kansas looks a bit better for Democrat Jim Slattery than last month’s survey showing him 27 percentage points behind incumbent Republican Sen. Pat Roberts. But a formidable gap remains between Slattery’s 36 percent support and Roberts’ 55 percent. At least fewer Kansans are drawing a blank on Slattery these days — only 9 percent have no opinion of him, compared with 21 percent just last month. Only two months after Roberts’ support dipped beneath 50 percent, though, Rasmussen calls him “one of the few Republican incumbents who appear to be in the clear this election year.”

I notice Ol’ Pat has “scheduling conflicts” that will prevent him from attending the GOP convention in St. Paul.

The guy doesn’t want to be in the same room with John Sidney McCain the Third (for Shrub’s 3rd term).

This year I am saying “don’t return incumbents to office … vote for challengers.” However in this U.S. Senate race, Pat Roberts, the incumbent, running against Jim Slattery, I believe Pat Roberts offers military experience, Kansas residence, political experience and participation in the highest levels of our government. So I believe it is imperative to return Senator Pat Roberts to the U.S. Senate.

So I will place the Pat Roberts sign in my yard this fall.

    “JWink” –

    “Kansas residence?”

Just where is Roberts’ “Kansas residence?”

The guy’s the worst kind of Washingtonian. He’s been there all his life, his primary residence is in the posh D.C. suburbs, and despite his seniority he has squat for clout in the United States Senate.

As a member of the minority party Roberts has less clout than the newest of the newly-elected Democratic Senators will have. Even when the Republic Party had a majority, Roberts was given low-power, no-prestige committee assignments where he did nothing of import.

There are enough western Kansans who’ll vote for him out of habit, most of ‘em out west who think the best government is the least government. And Roberts is about as “least” as it gets. He really represents the overall Mafia.

A mediocre Senator who represents the mediocre people who make Kansas a mediocre state.

Unless Senator Roberts shoots someone’s blind dog, he won’t have any problem getting re-elected.

When Roberts could have made a difference for the country, he chose party over principle. He chose party over State. And, he chose party over the separation of powers.
    He needs to go.

Roberts ensured bush was elected for the first time to his second term and is complicit in the deaths of American military personnel and innocent Iraqis. In avoiding his responsibilities by exposing the manufactured lies in the run up to bush’s war of choice, Roberts committed high Crimes and Misdemeanors. Instead of serving Kansans his misconduct was injurious to society as a whole.
