Obama’s Kansas grandmother made her own way

As Barack Obama prepared to vacation in his native Hawaii, a Bloomberg news story took a closer look at his grandmother Madelyn Dunham, an El Dorado native who worked on Boeing’s bomber-assembly line during World War II and went on to be one of the few women officers of the Bank of Hawaii in the 1960s. The woman Obama calls “Toot,” short for the Hawaiian word for grandmother (“tutu”), is now 85 and in delicate health in Hawaii. But “she was the grand matriarch,” said Maya Soetoro-Ng, Obama’s half-Indonesian sister. “She was the net beneath us so we could make courageous decisions in our own lives.”

A history question I have about “Toot” … did she live in Wichita during WW II while she worked at Boeing? They both seemed to have ties to El Dorado but it would seem logical that she might have lived in Wichita because gas and tires were rationed in those days.

Osama Obama makes the oddest statements:

“I never felt intimidated by her, but I felt I had to perform,” Berry said in an interview earlier this year. “She was no-nonsense.”

Why would anyone be intimidated by their grandmother? (all things being equal)

Maybe she could have an affair with a former Senator so you’d be interested.

Because its a story for the Democrat’s and the people on the Left to read and get excited about in a warm fuzzy way that runs up their leg. Besides these are the kinds of topics and stories that are placed on these blogs to comment about and in this newspaper to read.

But this one in particular is the MSM’s way of furthering their help to get Obama elected since his election (and popularity) has appeared to stall out so they can claim to have been a part of making history in 2008!

Yet it is quite sad the media has become more and more less objective and more and more political over the years. I’m not sure the old Soviet media could have done any better than the MSM is doing now.

If McCain picks Mitt Romney, as his running mate, the Mormon “polygamy” jokes and whispers are, pretty much, guaranteed. This is true even though the Mormon Church outlawed polygamy way back when Utah was granted Statehood!

However, it is probably true that there are polygamists WAY back, in the Romney family tree.

As long as we are going to face that issue, anyway?

It is only fair to mention that Obama is only ONE GENERATION away from polygamy!

Polygamy is common in the Moslem world.

It still amazes me the ingnorance of non thinking people , who therefore are easily brainwashed into believing and accepting anything Rush The Drug Lush Limbaugh or his kind of bigotted blowhards have to say.
So that ignorance is evident here where someone believes Barack is a muslim ( since they can’t spell either)Or that the so CALLED MAINSTREAM MEDIA leans left when many are corporately owned predominately by the right.
Especially when Wingnuts like Glenn Beck is on CNN no longer Owned by Ted Turner for well over a decade.
In fact the Media only sells what we buy , so let me give the DEE-DEE-DEES(rednecks who would link Osama to any American)an example,: as soon as the poll was out that Barack was getting too much coverage ,the coverage in fact slipped considerably with Regard to BARACK.
    Hence evidence of brainwashing prevails!!!!!

We get it. You are biased. Now could you at least try to make this blog somewhat unbiased now?

    MonkeyHawk,

As usual, you have no idea what you are talking about.

  15. Posted August 10, 2008 at 2:25 pm | Permalink

    So, boy.

    Enlighten us.

Tell us why the Marines have lowered their recruitment standards to accept felons and high school drop-outs rather than calling up a hale and healthy combat-experienced warrior to fight and win the war on terror?

They don’t want you back, “Nathaniel.”

    They don’t need you.

They figure they’re better off with felons and drop-outs than with another 12 or 15 months of “Nathaniel” in their ranks on the front lines.

Face it, boy. You are an ex-Marine.

The real Marines would rather go to war without you. They know why even if you don’t.

    MonkeyHawk,

I have responded to you stupidity several times. That is all it is, stupidity. Either you were too stupid to grasp the concept the first 3 times I explained it to you or you are just being stupid on purpose.

    Which is it?

  17. Posted August 10, 2008 at 2:35 pm | Permalink

Probably, boy, it’s because I don’t believe you.

I have no reason to believe you.

All I have to disagree with you is the fact that Marines are recruiting felons and drop-outs rather than tap you for more service in the War on Terror.

They don’t want you, “Nathaniel.” They have a reason for that and you certainly won’t share why the Marines think their efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan are best served with you half a world away from where their mission matters.

    You are an ex-Marine.

They’re through with you because they’ve seen you at work and they don’t like the quality of your work.

They’d much rather take their chances with high school drop-outs and felons. More reliable.

    Deal with it.

    Liar.

  19. Posted August 10, 2008 at 2:58 pm | Permalink

And you, boy, have no evidence whatsoever as to why the Marines prefer drop-outs and felons in Baghdad and you in Kansas where you’re less likely to screw up their efforts.

    I haven’t lied about anything.

And you have no explanation why you’re lollygagging away in Kansas while real Marines are fighting and dying.

Moslem and Muslem are BOTH accepted spellings, for the libs like Shadow who get their panties in a knot over such trivial issues.
Also, Obama DOES have a MOSLEM heritage, there is absolutely no doubt about that.

Why is Obama’s Mother important, while Obama’s Moslem Father is NOT important?

Ok, why does it make “didly squat” that Obama’s mother spent some small amount of time in Kansas?

You want the POSITIVE family connections, while you want to leave out the NEGATIVE family connections.

So I guess Franklin’s “working” “theory” is that Obama’s father, absent from his life since he was a small boy, still managed somehow ipso facto to turn him into a Manchurian candidate slash “Moslem” assassin slash walking talking kicking ticking time bomb of a Democrat who will throw out the Constitution in favor of Sharia. In other words, somehow the drat Democrats once again have nominated a traitor as their candidate for POTUS.

    Right. Got it then.

….ok, not sure about yall, but I do believe I see the beginning of ODS, Obama Derangement Syndrome here. Or, as I suspect, worse (a knee-jerk attempt to bypass all discussion and replace it with implacable hatred of all things Democrat). As yall love to preach to the Democrats, all that wild-eyed hate’s gonna back up on ya. :D

I have recruited Black candidates for office.
I have supported Black candidates for office.

Also, Obama’s step Father, I believe, was also Moslem.

And, as I stated, to begin with, if Mitt Romney is chosen, Romney’s faith, and Romney’s stand on polygamy, will be an issue.

The Eagle likes all the “warm and fuzzy” Kansas “connections” — those connections are far, far weaker than the Moslem connection.

How much time has Obama really spent, in Kansas?

Earth to Franklin. Romney’s faith was exclusively an issue within his own party since nobody thought the twice-born branch was open minded enough to overlook the more colorful aspects.

And sure enough, yall strangled his candidacy in his crib, and over his faith.

The term “red neck” comes from several sources.

Originally, the term applied to the celtic/Scottish who refused to join the Church of England. They wore red to show their protest against the Anglicans, and their support of Presbyterianism.

Then, perhaps due to the heavy immigration of Scots Irish into the area, the symbol was transferred to coal mining country. There was a rebellion among pro-union coal miners against the private security hired by some of the coal mine operators.

The War of Blair Mountain was the largest insurrection since the Civil War. Nearly 10,000 “Red Neck” Union members were involved.

Those “Red Necks” were multi-racial and multi-ethnic.

    Beber, YOU are a bigot.

You assume that everyone who disagrees with you is morally inferior to you.

You assume that those of us who disagree with Obama are “racist” —

And you ignore your own racism and bigotry, which is certainly there for all of us to see.
