In Rolling Stone, filmmaker Michael Moore offers the Democratic Party six easy steps for how to ensure that Barack Obama loses to John McCain: Keep saying nice things about McCain. Pick a conservative white guy, general or Republican as a running mate. Make Obama sound like a hawk. Forget that this was a historic year for women. Show up to a gunfight with a peashooter. Denounce Michael Moore.

Yeah, advice from the morbidly obese, fat commie boy would soothe my mind on ensuring victory.

5 years of torture (imagine the PTSD)

War Hero?
Wow. Lowered the standards a wee bit.
ego or what? denouncing somebody who plays with movies for a living will decide the presidency of the United States?
riiiiight.
As it happens, I read that article at the barbershop yesterday afternoon. He gives good advice. Rolling Stone is one commie rag, though.
HA! I posted this on Sunday!
If Michael Moore is Morbidly Obese, what does that make Limpballs?
I think sol is right- we should re-define “hero”.
My bad, he wasn’t tortured.
Phoenix New Times, March 25, 1999 — Two former POWs, Air Force Colonels Ted Guy and Gordon “Swede” Larson, said in a feature article that while they could not guarantee that McCain was not physically harmed, they doubted it. Both Guy and Larson were senior ranking officers (SRO’s) in McCain’s POW camp at a time he claims he was in solitary confinement and being tortured.
Larson told the New Times, “Between the two of us, it’s our belief, and to the best of our knowledge, that no prisoner was beaten or harmed physically in that camp [known as 'The Plantation'].
“My only contention with the McCain deal is that while he was at The Plantation, to the best of my knowledge and Ted’s knowledge, he was not physically abused in any way. No one was in that camp. It was the camp that people were released from.”
and let the swiftboating continue…
Whazza Matter, Rapt? Can’t the ‘publicans take their own medicine?
As for McCane being tortured, we have it on record straight from his captors- he was repeatedly placed in a hotel room with two hookers, and forced to be constantly unfaithful to his wife!
The PTSD from such awful treatment caused him to have repeated flashbacks upon returning home, and afterwards find himself in bed with women other than his wife! Those horrible delusions continued to the point where he often referred to own second wife as a whore, and worse. The price of his heroic efforts to resist his captors was the destruction of his marriages and the deluded image of all women as hookers. He deserves our pity, not our scorn. He needs the treatment to restore his sensitivity that he was denied by our government for decades after his return!
NO Michael:
The best way to make sure that REPUBLICANS WIN?
Try and get a picture of yourself with Obama, would you PLEASE???
Moore is morbidly obese.
In comparison, Rush is relatively fit.
Chuckle…
Please, please, LIBS try to smear John McCain’s war service record. Insist that your talking heads pursue it. Maybe even the VP candidate should jump on it. Be aggressive about it though, or no one will think that you are sincere. Maybe compare John (I served in Vietnam) Kerry’s record with McCain’s.
Even you guys aren’t that dumb… are you?
Two ways to insure Barak Obama the 2nd (2nd is for the 2nd term of Jimmy Carter), loses. Have Michael Moore remind the voters that he exists and try to “swift boat” John McCain. Your pathetic attempts to swift boat McCain are laughable.
“Lurch” was a twenty four carat phony with his three Band aid Purple Hearts and his home movies. Who takes a movie camera with them to war anyway? By the way, did anybody else notice the similarities between the film of “Lurch” walking through the jungle and that famous film of Big Foot that was shot in the Pacific Northwest about the same time? The only difference is Big Foot wasn’t carrying an M-16.
I really hope Howard Dean and Co. and the Move On er’s are stupid enough to try to besmirch McCains war record. The American people won’t buy it no matter how much money some people are paid to lie about it. Five and a half years as a prisoner of the North Vietnamese. Refusing to abandon his fellow POW’s or except special treatment because of who his Father was. Yeah, just try and lie about that.
And just the other night he readily admitted to Rick Warren and the Nation that his biggest moral failure was the way his first marriage ended. Compare that to John Edwards who first denied then admitted an affair but still refuses to admit paternity of a child he probably did father. Oh well, being a Democrat means never having to say your sorry.
Chris,
Nobody needs to “swiftboat” McCane- his record has done a spectacular job of that! Maverick? Nah, just a typical ‘publican hypocrite.
“Please, please, LIBS try to smear John McCain’s war service record”
——
What’s to smear? Why would anyone want to? Has anyone tried this tactic you want so badly? Maybe if you want it so badly you could give some examples, get it started.
Here you go, outlanderr. This is what wiki has to give you a leg up on your project.
From wiki:
McCain graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1958 and became a naval aviator, flying ground-attack aircraft from aircraft carriers. During the Vietnam War, he nearly lost his life in the 1967 USS Forrestal fire. Later that year while on a bombing mission over North Vietnam, he was shot down, badly injured, and captured as a prisoner of war by the North Vietnamese. He was held from 1967 to 1973, experiencing episodes of torture and refusing an out-of-sequence early repatriation offer; his war wounds would leave him with lifelong physical limitations.
Compared to the goofnut?
Michael Moore is a rail.
Michael Moore’s mistake, and I’m not sure I can forgive him for it, was endorsing Barack Obama.
“Please, please, LIBS try to smear John McCain’s war service record.”
I would never do that.
I WILL point out that McCain was tortured in any number of ways known and unknown for several YEARS.
Ya don’t make a guy who has been through something like that the leader of the free world.
You make sure he is comfortable and taken care of for the rest of his life surrounded by medical and psychological professionals.
Linda; See above.
So your tactic will begin with the premise that McCain deserves LESS than being taken care of by the government he gave years of his life to, and suffers lifelong physical limitations because of. I think you should try a different approach. Just sayin…
outlander, I think McCain is a madman. He seems to me to be living in the past, speaks of it constantly, has nothing more recent to tell us about than his times as a war hero, and it seems he is a warmonger who would very much like to start a war or two or three of his own. Is this an affect of his years as a prisoner of war? I don’t know. Doesn’t diminish the fact that he served his country and suffered atrocities during his service. Everyone is happy he survived and has lived a very long life! I hope no one ever has to go through what he did. Peace, diplomacy, respect for other countries and cultures would go a long ways toward the goal of ensuring no one does. McCain isn’t capable of handling foreign affairs any way but war, doesn’t have those skills necessary to avoid war.
Quote:
Where are John McCain’s writings exploring the vexing moral issues of our time? Where are his position papers setting forth his careful consideration of foreign policy, the welfare state, education, America’s moral responsibility in the world, etc., etc., etc.?
John McCain graduated 894th in a class of 899 at the Naval Academy at Annapolis. His father and grandfather were four star admirals in the Navy. Some have suggested that might have played a role in McCain being admitted. His academic record was awful. And it shows over and over again whenever McCain is called upon to think on his feet.
He no longer allows reporters unfettered access to him aboard the “Straight Talk Express” for a reason. He simply makes too many mistakes. Unless he’s reciting talking points or reading from notes or a TelePrompTer, John McCain is lost. He can drop bon mots at a bowling alley or diner — short glib responses that get a chuckle, but beyond that McCain gets in over his head very quickly.
I am sick and tired of the president of the United States embarrassing me. The world we live in is too complex to entrust it to someone else whose idea of intellectual curiosity and grasp of foreign policy issues is to tell us he can look into Vladimir Putin’s eyes and see into his soul.
George Bush’s record as a student, military man, businessman and leader of the free world is one of constant failure. And the part that troubles me most is he seems content with himself.
He will leave office with the country $10 trillion in debt, fighting two wars, our international reputation in shambles, our government cloaked in secrecy and suspicion that his entire presidency has been a litany of broken laws and promises, our citizens’ faith in our own country ripped to shreds. Yet Bush goes bumbling along, grinning and spewing moronic one-liners, as though nobody understands what a colossal failure he has been.
I fear to the depth of my being that John McCain is just like him.

Your team set the bar, and we will go there Chris.
Mccain’s war experience was nothing but failure after failure. that’s a simple fact.
Don’t forget that our Presidential nominee is also a benefactor of 100% disability payments- along with all his wife’s riches and taxpayer money.
before anyone corrects me that should have said beneficiary.
Your best post in a while, Rhonda. But your baseline, kinda sucks, ya know?
