McCain threw in lot with Rove hit men

mccainrove.jpg“On July 3, news reports said Sen. John McCain, worried that he might lose the election before it truly started, opened his doors to disciples of Karl Rove from the 2004 campaign and the Bush White House,” said a New York Times editorial. “Less than a month later, the results are on full display. The candidate who started out talking about high-minded, civil debate has wholeheartedly adopted Mr. Rove’s low-minded and uncivil playbook.
“Mr. McCain used to pride himself on being above this ugly brand of politics, which killed his own 2000 presidential bid. But he clearly tossed his inhibitions aside earlier this month when he put day-to-day management of his campaign in the hands of one acolyte of Mr. Rove and gave top positions to two others.”
The Obama campaign has a new Web site noting McCain’s move from his pledge to conduct a “respectful campaign” to his taking the “low road express.”
Meanwhile, the two campaigns battled Thursday about whether Obama played the race card.

    First
You have NO proof that Bush, or Rove, or any official Republican campaign or official Republican official did anything underhanded against McCain.

Yah, bad stuff happens in every election.

PROVE the source or quit printing BS! The MSM should be ashamed of itself for keeping this story alive. Yes, at one time even McCain believed that there was some OFFICIAL dirty campaigning, aimed at McCain. This was due to McCain putting too much faith into second hand rumors passed to him by his staff.

Campaigns get heated sometimes. McCain is big enough to put all of this behind him.

The press (including the Eagle?) Well the media do not care about the facts.

Not ONE telephone bank volunteer or employee has come forward to back up any dirty campaign story.

Not ONE voter has come forward to testify as to the content of any “dirty push poll” done by Bush or any other Republican, against McCain.

    It did NOT happen.

Besides, Obama, in his own book, attributes much of his own success to his skill in taking advantage of “White Guilt” — Obama ADMITS that he uses the race card frequently!

I mention it because McCain was whining that Obama would prefer to win the election rather than win the illegal occupation. Of course Obama never said anything of the sort but McInsane said he is sitting on all this valuable Bin Laden information.

Maybe McCain was watching an old episode of Chasers and is planning on invading Australia, which McCain refers to as the birthplace of Hitler.

And it’s the Hilton family which donated the maximum amount to McCain’s campaign. McCain, the guy who makes cameos on sitcoms and tv dramas, has a lot more in common with Spears and Hilton that Obama does.

Oh, and someone tell McCain to stop playing the race card when he puts Obama’s face on the $100 bill. Well, McCain’s campaign team says it’s playing the race card, will McCain go after Obama’s for having two Black children next?

“There is no way that you can possibly prove that everyone airing up their tires would conserve more oil than what we could produce, with expanded drilling.”

Actually if everyone kept their tires properly inflated total gasoline consumption in the United States would be reduced by 2%.

A tune up for a car that is out of tune will improve fuel efficiency by 4%.

By replacing old tires with more efficient low rolling resistance tires fuel national fuel consumption would be reduced by 3%.

So while Exxon is setting up more drilling platforms and expecting to get oil to the market in 10 years improved efficiency can reduce fuel consumption by 9% tomorrow.

“You should be careful what you criticize Maggie. Great song. Lighten up son, sometime a song is just a song. It’s a duet with Willie Nelson, you know, he of the new antiwar Farm Aid or whatever it is.”

Oh I don’t have a problem with the song, I have a problem with Paul’s blatant hypocrisy. The moment Toby Keith endorses Obama I’m sure Paul will find everything Toby Keith does offensive.

    Ben
    Obama’s words convict him.
Obama is a narcissistic ego maniac with a Messiah complex.
I am not the first to notice this character flaw, in Obama.
Also, it is rather shallow and childish for you to call someone a liar, for an opinion.
It is my honest opinion that Obama thinks far too highly of himself, that Obama DOES see himself as the savior of the world, and that a very large segment of the population feels the same way as me, about Obama.

“You can NOT force everyone to keep their tires aired up.
You can NOT force everyone to tune up their cars.
Furthermore, it has already been proven, by me and other bloggers, that it will NOT take 10 years for expanded drilling to have a dramatic effect on price.”

Paul, I thought you were serious about wanting to get us off foreign oil. Sounds like you just want more profits for oil companies. The oil companies export more and more of our oil to Asia. Are you in favor of laws blocking the sale of our oil?

I can go to Quiktrip and inflate my tires tomorrow. Can I see these new oil wells tomorrow? Oh, I’ll give you an entire week, will I see it then? Nope, it’ll take years. More years of reliance on foreign oil, of higher demand and higher gas prices. Paul, you are a failure because you have no plan. Something can be done today but as usual you are lazy and think some magic gnome will create a magic oil machine which will make oil so plentiful that we can flush our toilets with it.

Thanks for showing that conservatives have no solutions to America’s problems.

A large segment of the population thinks that Obama is presumptuous and smug, at the very least.
McCain would not be spending big bucks on this ad, if he did not have polling data on what people already dislike, about Obama:

    Franklin,

    “Presumptuous”–isn’t that the new “uppity?”

The word “uppity,” Franklin, traditionally precedes another, far less ambiguous word–one you have in mind, but have the good sense not to use.

And that’s John McCain’s campaign. Oh, that and picturing Barack Obama with white women.

As somebody on another blog said, Karl Rove famously advises anyone watching a political ad to turn the sound down.

So what do we see in Free Ride’s new ad?

    -White women

    -Barack Obama

    -Flashes

Translation: Barack Obama’s love of white women is going to get him shot.

    It won’t wash.
America does not want to be “guilted” into voting for a Black President.
America is ready for a Black President if that person DESERVES the honor.
    Obama does not.
Obama might win, but Obama will never have more than 50% of the popular vote, and Obama will divide the country worse than at any time since the Civil War.
The public is tired of being called “racist” for the sin of disagreement with a Black person.
    Geraldine Ferraro understands this.
Bill and Hillary Clinton understand, as well.

If Obama does not quickly understand this point, and get off the race message, himself, Obama will go down very fast in the polls.

As high-tech lynchings go, the GOP really knows how to put one on. And to pin the race card on the Obama campaign and have the media buy it–priceless. Political assassination as only the GOP can.

Still don’t think this is going to win the GOP the election, though–not even if they do a whole summer of it. McCain is SUCH a loser, and has SO shot his wad on this one, that as disgusting as the McCain campaign’s willingness to don the hood may be, and as utterly dishonest as the likes of Franklin may be, it ultimately won’t do any good.

Folks are done with Repukes, If they needed any further evidence of the total moral and conceptual bankruptcy of the Republican Party, John McCain just gave it to them.

    Franklin,

Yeah, you really are the arbiter of who is and isn’t an “acceptable” black candidate who “deserves the honor,” aren’t you, Franklin? Can’t be an “uppity” one, that’s for sure. Might make you feel even smaller than you are.

Any Democratic black candidate would be character assassinated by the GOP–any. For that matter, Franklin, isn’t it funny that when the GOP fields its own African-American candidates, the Republican rank-and-file won’t vote for them. Michael Steele, Franklin? Kenneth Blackwell? Alan Keyes?

If you don’t want to be called racist, Franklin, don’t play racist games. Lie down with dogs, you get bitten.

As for the support that President Obama will enjoy, you’re probably right that he’ll never much above 50%. But George Bush had considerably less than that, now didn’t he, Franklin? Where is he now–mid to upper 20’s? How’s that working out for you, Franklin?

George Bush created Barack Obama. If you have a problem with that, take it up with the extremist wing of the Republican Party that drove the country into the ground and created the necessity for the inverse of George Bush: Barack Obama.

    It is not dishonest.
Is it possible for a Black person to be an ego-maniac?
You seem to claim that it is not possible.
If it is possible, and if Obama has crossed the line, and become, obviously, a self-absorbed, narcissistic, pompous ass —

    IT IS AN ISSUE!

Many people have questioned Obama’s Arab roots, not just me.
And, if you find “racial percentages” distasteful, how will you feel about “reparations for slavery”?
What percentage of “blackness” will qualify for the hand out?
If you don’t like racial percentages, how can you support Affirmative Action?
Obama admits that he takes advantage of White Guilt.
Obama wrote a book about race.

And in any case, the fact that you Repukes didn’t seem to have much of a problem with a narcissistic Republican President who claimed to hear messages suggests that your real concern isn’t “narcissism” of the officeholder–it’s his or her race.

Try harder, Franklin. Even though nobody buys your special pleading.

Its too bad there is not a way to harness all of the HOT AIR the bloggers who feel they “OWN” these blogs and turn it into energy or store it for winter to heat our homes. That could solve our energy problems for years to come. Especially when they turn their burners up to FLAME AWAY at someone.

Some of you really need to get a life. Come on, get out of the dark corners of your dank, poorly lit basement, remove your aluminum foil caps, pick up the empty boxes of pizza and take them out to the trash and then go out to buy some new clothes, take a few deep breaths, then try to rejoin civilization.
