Investigate China on cheating

A computer hacker has uncovered online what he says are official Chinese documents that prove that Chinese gymnast He Kixen, the gold medalist in the uneven bars, is indeed underage, as many people suspect. Chinese birth records seem to show that she is 14 — not the minimum age of 16 required to compete.
The International Olympic Committee said Friday that it has ordered an investigation of He to clear up “discrepancies” and put an end to the controversy.
Meanwhile, IOC president Jacques Rogge went out of his way Thursday to criticize Jamaican sprint superstar Usain Bolt for his showboating after winning the 100 meter dash.
Nonsense. Bolt played by the rules and earned the right to celebrate his historic achievement. The question is, do He and other Chinese gymnasts deserve their medals?

We should probably eliminate the age restriction, completely.
Otherwise, there will always be cheating, and medalists will be awarded the gold, silver or bronze, only to have it stripped away.
How would YOU like to win a medal, yourself, based on the true winner being disqualified?
Eliminate the age restriction. The age restriction is higher in gymnastics than it is in other sports, I think, isn’t it?

Yes, I have concerns about “child labor” as well, but these kids look like they enjoy what they are doing — and gymnastics might actually SAVE them, from the true “sweat shops”.

Wow. Let’ see, the CHinese possibly cheated. They should be chastisted and severely beaten upon the head with a wet spagetti noodle. And, the medals of the cheaters taken away. But,

If I had lost to here? Why would I want to admit I had been beaten by a kid?

The IOC should investigate. The other athletes, and coaches, should remain silent

I saw Chinese divers last might that were listed as being 14 years old. Do different sports have different age restrictions?

I don’t see too much of problem with younger Olympians. It’s much better than the being ‘child labor’ in some slum factory.

As far as the Jamaican is concerned, if I could run that fast, I would be doing the ‘funky chicken’ after the race.

Unlying current of the story is that the Chinese cannot be trusted with much of anything. Personally, I don’t care how old the competitors are..as long as the rules are there, everyone should have to abide by them.

But..the Chinese (land of poison dog food and lead paint) have their own agenda…and I believe it isn’t a positive one for anyone who is not Chinese.

Didn’t they ‘cheat’ on the fireworks too? Didn’t they freakin invent fireworks and still had to ‘cheat’?

Chi-Coms say she was 16, she was 16. Whatcha gonna do? Is it true? I doubt it, they probably cheated. Pretty disappointing and hardly in the Olympic spirit. But they were more concerned about sending a message with all those medals than fair play.

Could the IOC sanction them? Are you kidding? They have no stomach for that. And I read where they have already cleared them.

So we will have to be satisfied knowing that the Chinese have taken a hit to their credibility.

Since you can’t, we’ll settle for the “floppy chicken.”

    China cheats at sports?

Gosh, how can we trust them on any Global Warming treaty?

    We can’t!

So we will punish American workers and try to follow rules that the world ignores!
