No Obama is. Enjoy the show.
Anyone know what time he’ll be speaking?
I think 9 our time.
Dang, In addition to “community organizer” and “slum lawyer” Obama can put “explosives expert” on his resume? Very impressive.

My fireworks humor must’ve went over your head!
I got a text from my oldest son last night while watching Bill Clinton’s speech. He asked if I was watching PBS? I told him I was watching MSNBC, he than said he was watching President Clinton’s speech on PBS.
He than told me he was after all these years (he is 25) he had decided to register to vote and hope I was not disappointed but he was going to vote for Obama. it was the first time he showed any interests in Politics but he felt that it was too important that McCain not win. I told him he did not know the half of it as to why McCain should not be President.
Is this the soldier, dawg?
The man who was elected President in 2000 will now speak!
Al Gore is on right now…sexy as always!
All right, writerdog!

Wango boy, I thought the judge told you to take off the mask, sit down and shut up!
Is Gore late for something? His words are great, but he needs to slow waaaay down!
Al Gore should have run.
He sounds great to me. It’s nice to hear someone who is articulate after listening to the mumbling, bumbling Bush for the last 8 yrs!
I wish he would have.
Where’s the Messiah Obama?
I mean, the legions await him at the Barackopolis.
And Michael MacDonald sings the song that SHOULD be our National Anthem…
I agree Pre…
Don’t get your pants in a wad, Reg..he’ll be there.
WOW! Susan Eisenhower! Her Father knew and warned of the current idiot in charge!
I saw Tropic Thunder today…I was so disappointed! I love Ben Stiller and his type of humor…but this movie went way overboard.
Don’t waste your money.
She is right on!!!!
OK, her GRANDfather. Just doesn’t seem that long ago. I’m old!
I’m there with ya! I REMEMBER Eisenhower!

Yet, another airhead statement.
George W. Bush would have been like 13 years old in 1959. I doubt Ike spent much time around George W. Bush, if any.
I’m going to finish watching the DNC from the comfort of my bed…nite all!!
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.
The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children….
This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense.
Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from an iron cross.

I wasn’t too cool with having Michael McDonald go on AFTER Stevie, but he did well: now that Ray Charles is gone, SOMEONE has to sing our national song.
Good to see the cavalcade of Generals onstage. That’s some balls they have, to support Obama in the context of a politicized military.
Regular, your reply to Linda makes no sense.
I was 8 in 1959. I remember Ike. But then again, Dubya might not. Does he remember last week?
Biden’s on now: working class hero. GO, JOE!

Then, in 1954, Eisenhower introduced us to Vietnam and we know the rest of the story.
The armistice for the Korean War wasn’t signed until July 27, 1953, three months after that speech.
Got any other airhead references?
Biden is such an improvement over Cheney, it’s almost funny. Well, it would be if it wasn’t so sad that we’ve had to endure Dick for 8 years.
Gee, Regular, I thought you guys always blamed Vietnam on JFK…
Funny how “they” remember history when they need it.

Sorry, if you can’t translate airhead, but lindainks wrote this referring to George W. Bush (the idiot in charge.) George W. Bush would have been 13 years old in 1959, hardly old enough for him to be known or cared about by President Eisenhower – least all be “warned.”

Yeah, shoot me, I’m a fence sitter, but I’ll take a chance and go with Obama, I admire McCain, but I think he’s easily influenced, I think, (only my opinion of course) that Obama might have better developed critical thinking skills that will provide some good foresight, instead of reactionary thinking.

This is very revealing. From what I read in the above, there are rumors out there; rumors that just aren’t true. I mean like, Obama being a terrorist Muslim? Could it be a false rumor? Darn, knock me over with a feather . . . well, actually a bunch of em could do wonders, right, Kfg??? I could go on and on, but my point is made. Rumors are just that: rumors. Kinda like gossip.

So it was politics that caused the divorce?
“We need someone who cares about Barney Smith instead of Smith Barney”
Damn! Republicans must be the worst people on the planet. Sounds scary.
Hazy, soft-focus Obama biography on now. Good stuff.
Uh HUH!
“Welfare to work”
Let the con appeasing begin.
High, high production values. As political theater goes, looks great.
BlueJay – what is wrong with enabling people to work and succeed?
Message: “he’s one of us.”
Here we go: speech time.
Red, striped tie.
“Welfare to work” = “Sorry about your health problems. Here’s three crap jobs and no day care. Good luck!”
Teary-eyed girl in audience.
The next President of these United States of America is NOW speaking!
Barack OBAMA!
Barack smiles.
uh oh, the cheers were shorter and softer than Bill Clinton’s. :D
“…I accept your nomination for the Presidency of the United States.”
BlueJay – it is all in the implementation.
Thanks Hillary Clinton.
Props to the Big Dog.
“it is all in the implementation.”
More like exploitation.
Didn’t thank Gore–at least, not yet.
“We meet at one of those defining moments.”
The only way I want to come together with cons is over dueling pistols.
“…but the failure to response, is the direct result of the failed politics of Washington and the failed politics of George W. Bush.”
The cons bought and BROKE government.
Hey let’s work with them!
“…that sits on its hands while a major American city drowns before our eyes.”
“Enough!”
“This election is our chance to keep the American Dream alive.”
Obama hasn’t figured out he isn’t running against Bush.
Neither has the Democratic party.
“On November 4th we must stand up and say, ‘eight is enough!’”
Geeze, are you Dems all on some kind of dope?
He isn’t elected yet…..and won’t be.
Get your feet on the ground….for once.
What does it say about your judgment when you think george bush has been right 90% of the time?
Senator McCain like to talk about judgment. What does it say about your ‘judgment,’ when you say George Bush has been right 90% of the time?”
I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to take a 10% chance on change.”
boxtop and mccluer are some of this nation’s biggest whinners!
Boxlock,
You’re so over. Barack Obama is landing direct hit after direct hit. Gloves are off, and your senile old hack is dazed and bloody. Metaphorically.
“I don’t think Senator McCain doesn’t care about the circumstances of millions of Americans–I just think he doesn’t know.”
“Welfare to work” = “You’re on your own.”
“In Washington, they call this the ownership society.
What it means is, ‘you’re on your own.’”
Well, it’s time for them to OWN their failure. And that’s why I’m running for President of the United States.”

But, I thought “whinner” was spelled winner.
BTW, whiner is spelled with one “n.”
As a teacher of our young, impressionable minds, I was shocked to see a teacher to be so lax and careless with spelling.
……………..the Repukes are being totally PUMMELED!
God, Obama is KILLING. He is absolutely on. He’s landing blows, but without seeming angry.
STICK IT IN YOUR ARSE MCCLUER……………I’m typing while watching the speech!
…..threaten to hurt someone in the last 8 hours?
“It reminds me of my Mom…who once turned to food stamps, but was still able to send us to the best schools in the country with the help of student loans and scholarships.”
I’m SO glad things went so well for his mom.
That was before “welfare reform” I believe?
….did you get admonished by your reichwing thug-buddies?
Speak up mccluer!
“I don’t know what kind of lives John McCain thinks celebrities lead, but this has been mine.”
…anecdotes, finger pointing and the ever tiresome “change” message…
When is the Osama Obama going to give us a plan?
the repuke answer: Vote for the senile old-man!
“Government should not solve all our problems, but what it should do is what we cannot do for ourselves.”
promise, change, finger pointing, simplistic plans without method, change, change, change
Basic Management 101:
One of the first rules for a manager, don’t implement massive changes if you want the company to stay solvent.
“I will cut taxes for 95% of all working families.”
“In ten years, we will finally end our dependence on oil from the Middle East.”
How about creating some GOVERNMENT jobs?
Cut out the middle man.
………are you you going to tell us all about your MELTDOWN earlier today mccluer?
Who else have you threatened today?
It feels like the grownups are back.
“Coal and nuclear industry? Send me money!”
“I’ll invest 150 billion over the next ten years in new, renewable sources of energy.”
“Oil is a stop-gap measure Obama admits.”
A measure in which the Democratic Congress and Senator Obama have consistently voted against, keeping oil prices high by their inaction.
Will you repeal “No Child Left Behind’?
“recruit an army of teachers…”
Teachers’ salaries are paid by the individual states you dolt.
dolt = mccluer
“Now is the time to keep the promise of equal pay for equal work, because I want my daughters to have the same opportunities as your sons.”

You mean daughters like Michelle Obama who is an attorney?
That kind of opportunity that was afforded to her?
“Individual responsiblity” = “You’re on your own.”
“If John McCain wants to have a debate about who has the temperament and judgment to serve as the next Commander-In-Chief, that’s a debate I’m ready to have.”
“John McCain likes to say he’ll follow Bin Laden to the Gates of Hell–but he won’t even follow him to the cave where he lives.”
I think he needs to propose and inspiring new initiative, like, “I pledge we send George WMD Bush to Mars by the end of this decade!”
……………..I’ll settle for sending he and cheney to prison
“We need a President who can face the threats of the future–not keep grasping at the ideas of the past.”
You don’t defeat a terrorist network that operates in eighty countries by occupying Iraq.
The party of Kennedy was NOT the party of Roosevelt.
Barack Obomba states he stood up and says he was against the Iraq War – problem is, Osama Obama wasn’t even a U.S. Senator then. He tried to compare himself to a U.S. Senator.
BTW, Senator Biden, Obama’s Vice President nominee, voted for the Iraq war.
As chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 2002 he stated that Saddam Hussein was “a long term threat and a short term threat to our national security” and that United States has “no choice but to eliminate the threat”.[22] After the Bush Administration rejected his effort to pass a resolution authorizing military action in Iraq only after the exhaustion of diplomatic efforts,[23] Biden argued that Saddam Hussein possesses chemical and biological weapons and is seeking nuclear weapons;[24] he subsequently voted in favor of authorizing the invasion of Iraq in 2003. wiki
What part of Republicans are greedy exploitive SCUM does he not get?
They don’t serve red American or blue America–they serve the United States of America.
“So I’ve got news for you, John McCain–we ALL put American first.”
I have NO common purpose with Republicans.
Sorry KFG, Obama said nothing about endorsing gay marriage, but he did say you could visit your gay friend in the hospital.
Mighty big of him don’t you think?
“This election has never been about me–it’s about YOU.”
“Thank you my sheep! Let me introduce you to our new friends the wolves!”
“In defining moments like these, change doesn’t come from Washington–change comes TO Washington.”

I can only promise my son that this country sucks and does not care about him until such time as he is old enough to be sent off to fight and die for….someone else.
Uh oh, Obama is referencing a Republican Minister, Martin Luther King, Junior.
Boxlock,
Sounds like you’re a little peeved that Rush Limbaugh’s plans to disrupt the Democratic National Convention proved so impotent and failed so utterly.

You name it coward….you won’t, you just talk and your talk is cheap, worthless in fact.

President Obama.
What a typical, predictable speech by Obama.
Good for cheer leading, totally lacking substance.
America’s Family — The President, the first lady and their daughters.
And they’re playing Brooks and Dunn: “Only in America.”
That’s IT?
I heard a whole lot of “reach out” when I needed to hear a lot of hit back.
Do you all notice that Regular is the only dissenting voice here tonight? Poor guy, he’s trying to hold his own.
BlueJay, stop helping him.
Gorgeous spectacle. America, meet your next President.
A bit messianic, but it comes with the territory. Just don’t let President Obama go near a flightsuit and all will be well.
White folks and black folks, embracing and weeping.
God I think Keith Olberman is going to wet himself.
I found the speech con lite.
I still can’t figure out why being popular, inspirational, motivational, and someone who draws huge crowds is a negative?

Bumper sticker mentality…
Islamic terrorists are going to blow you, your car and your bumper sticker right off the road.
It will certainly be, about you.
This is my take on Obama’s speech.
America set a tee-ball for him to hit. He should have hit it pretty easily as his Primary Election run has shown that he is a great teleprompter speaker.
I say that he swung and missed twice. The third swing he hit it pass the pitcher mound. That’s about it.
He was too nervous and too fat at first. He probably should have had a cigarette before the speech to calm him down a bit. The first 2/3rds of his speech was the recycle talking points that every other convention speaker said since day one. That I thought was a major mistake. A total miss at the tee-ball bat.
But at the end he got his good mojo back, but it was at the very last four minutes of his speech.
It won’t convince anybody on the fence tonight. Obama has a lot of work to do to November if he’s going to seal the deal.
And the Democratic white folk will head back to their elitist, exclusively white sections of town.
Not this Democrat. Not in this rainbow neighborhood. You should see my granddaughter’s school, where whites are in the minority. We teach that everyone, regardless of color, religion, sex, economics, sexual orientation and all the rest, is equal to the next.
Obama follows terrorists all over the place.
I believe Obama would follow Osama, just like Obama once worked for terrorist William Ayers!
linda,
You responded “I am positive they’re out there!” after I referred to them all as zombies.
You seem to agree they are zombies.
The use of ‘there’ as opposed to ‘they’re’ didn’t trip anyone up except those fixated on the smallness.
If it was about me, he’d listened to half the party.
Is that all ya got, Boxlock?
Half the population pays No Income tax, or very little income tax, at all.
How in the hell do you give someone a tax break that does not pay taxes?????
It was an excellent speech. He made points I agree with mostly. I don’t think he’s going to get there by playing nice though.
I’m ready for November. I want to see if this ploy fails yet again. The guys with the white hats can’t win based on the fairy tale anymore- we learned that with the past two elections of Bush.
“In defining moments like these, change doesn’t come from Washington–change comes TO Washington.”
Damn right, CF. Another great line.
We lost “It takes a village” Hillary Clinton for “personal responsibility” Barack?
I have no candidate.

That’s enough Predestined, that’s enough.
Oh Oedipus….has momma taken the computer away again?
Now that’s not exactly fair BJ- he really did bring the village- but in a different way.
ictBest = Joe Williams
What a maroon.
The speech left me flat.
It is trademark Obama tossing the base to the wolves to reach out to the cons.
It was a subtle chance for you to recognize the proper use of the word, without bringing it to everyone’s attention, thus perhaps embarrassing you. Subtle doesn’t seem to work.
I wasn’t happy with the reaching out to the cons either.
Just like when McSame plays the videos about how Obama dropped us- may be true- but the enemy of my enemy is not my friend.
You don’t have to respond to these paper tigers anymore, Apophis.
Their day is done . . .
Get used to “President Obama.”
“Now that’s not exactly fair BJ- he really did bring the village- but in a different way.”
Not really.
He wants to work with the landlord that owns the village.
I needed him to tell the landlord he was out of a job.
Franklin!!!
With all respect intended, because I agree completely with you, but do you realize that Exxon pays more in taxes alone than the bottom 50% of Americans. It is companies like that, and higher income earners, that are making it possible for the laggard to even exist in this country.
And they think Obama will make it better…stupid.
CapnAmerica = a.k.a Weak Man.
Up to your bs know nothing.
Oh Well. Have a nice life. Cause I could less about it.
I hear that Exxon makes $1500 a second in profit. But they also pay $4000 in taxes per second too.
That’s fast money, yo!
“Subtle doesn’t work”, uh…no, when all you’ve got to complain about is typos when someone is responding quickly.
“Get used to “President Obama.””
Thanks no.
No more than I consider bush “my” President.
We have lost SO much. Obama only asks us to surrender more.
How many members of the Broncos football team would you vote for?
Capn,
The shrimp Apophis called me out. I am simply responding to him, and will gladly consider any challenge he offers.
But, as expected….he shrinks from his offer.
Typical!
What are they running for and what are their qualifications? After we have those facts, I’ll be better able to answer.
Obama actually will be a decent president, if elected.
Just as Bill Clinton said last night, the opposition to his candidacy said the same thing, but he turned out pretty good.
NAFTA, PTS with PRC, Welfare Reform and a number of other issues, which he championed. The far left was more pissed off with Clinton than any Republican, except for the Monica thang, and with that, the Republican prudes who thought that was important, can go pound sand. It’s a non-issue. The man likes young tang, and why blame him.
My brother will still vote for him.
My sisters and my mother and the friends I have heard from were not moved.

The Invesco stadium (how can you take shots at Smith Barney while giving Invesco so much publicity?) Anyway, the Invesco stadium is often full, for Football games.
I would add, the largest marches on Washington, in history, have been prolife marches.
Crowds are easy to produce. Most of the people in Denver were NOT in the stadium.
Actually Franklin, the largest march was “March of Women’s Lives” in 2004. That was a pro-choice rally.
I’ll look forward to the crowds McCain produces since they’re easy to produce! I haven’t seen him draw them yet, but I’ll keep looking since I know it’s easy!
A question to you hard core Dems; Are you guys going to watch the Republican National Convention? Or at least McCain’s speech?
I will watch. I won’t change my schedule as I did for the Democratic Convention but when it’s convenient, I’ll tune in.
Check the latest in commercials against Obama.
Notice how Obama is the only one on stage without his hand over his heart during the playing of the National Anthem.

And STILL no explanation why VP was not offered to Senator Clinton?
That is likely fatal for Obama’s hopes.
It doesn’t matter. The poor and suffering never have a candidate in this country.
That’s one good thing about America, it is possible to have a peaceful revolution, every 4 yrs.
The America Obama described is an idealist one, but Obama sounds like an Idealist with ideas. He’s more of a threat to the establishment than the radicals of the 60’s ever were.
If you thought you missed something by being too young for the 60’s, I think you’re going to see the real revolution (evolution) of America.
One of the most important items to me was energy independence, that is a top priority of America. If we can achieve it, we can be on the cutting edge of technology and manufacturing.
The desire for revenge is one of our more primitive instincts, if we don’t get past it we can never move on as a nation. If you have two groups that take turns sticking each other in the eyes, all you end up with are a bunch of blind people.
Really, Blue Jay, give it a rest.
Nobody except for Obama would dare to say this:
It’s not because John McCain doesn’t care. It’s because John McCain doesn’t get it.
For over two decades, he’s subscribed to that old, discredited Republican philosophy — give more and more to those with the most and hope that prosperity trickles down to everyone else. In Washington, they call this the Ownership Society, but what it really means is that you’re on your own. Out of work? Tough luck. You’re on your own. No health care? The market will fix it. You’re on your own. Born into poverty? Pull yourself up by your own bootstraps — even if you don’t have boots. You are on your own.
Well it’s time for them to own their failure. It’s time for us to change America. And that’s why I’m running for president of the United States.
You see, we Democrats have a very different measure of what constitutes progress in this country.
We measure progress by how many people can find a job that pays the mortgage; whether you can put a little extra money away at the end of each month so you can someday watch your child receive her college diploma. We measure progress in the 23 million new jobs that were created when Bill Clinton was president — when the average American family saw its income go up $7,500 instead of go down $2,000 like it has under George Bush.
We measure the strength of our economy not by the number of billionaires we have or the profits of the Fortune 500, but by whether someone with a good idea can take a risk and start a new business, or whether the waitress who lives on tips can take a day off and look after a sick kid without losing her job — an economy that honors the dignity of work.
The fundamentals we use to measure economic strength are whether we are living up to that fundamental promise that has made this country great — a promise that is the only reason I am standing here tonight.
Because in the faces of those young veterans who come back from Iraq and Afghanistan, I see my grandfather, who signed up after Pearl Harbor, marched in Patton’s Army, and was rewarded by a grateful nation with the chance to go to college on the GI Bill.
In the face of that young student who sleeps just three hours before working the night shift, I think about my mom, who raised my sister and me on her own while she worked and earned her degree; who once turned to food stamps but was still able to send us to the best schools in the country with the help of student loans and scholarships.
When I listen to another worker tell me that his factory has shut down, I remember all those men and women on the South Side of Chicago I stood by and fought for two decades ago after the local steel plant closed.
And when I hear a woman talk about the difficulties of starting her own business or making her way in the world, I think about my grandmother, who worked her way up from the secretarial pool to middle-management, despite years of being passed over for promotions because she was a woman. She’s the one who taught me about hard work. She’s the one who put off buying a new car or a new dress for herself so that I could have a better life. She poured everything she had into me. And although she can no longer travel, I know that she’s watching tonight, and that tonight is her night as well.
That’s enough Predestined, that’s enough.

FDR couldn’t have said it better than that.
Because in the faces of those young veterans who come back from Iraq and Afghanistan, I see my grandfather, who signed up after Pearl Harbor, marched in Patton’s Army, and was rewarded by a grateful nation with the chance to go to college on the GI Bill.
——————–
The new GI Bill is a hell of lot better than the old GI bill which I had. The only thing it paid for was partial tuition; no books or monthly stipend like the new GI bill.
Boxlock, Bush is/was a cheerleader; Obama is a visionary.
The new GI Bill is a hell of lot better than the old GI bill which I had.
Hmmmmmm…
When was this bill passed? This year? Under a Democratic Congress, as you so love to point out.
I say it was passed by CONGRESS. Maybe not the best and strongest bill it could have been, but improvement (as you stated) is good.
Barack Obama’s comments on not wearing the American lapel pin on his chest.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E0ycYEGtqU
Barack Obama is not American enough to wear the national symbol on his chest, he WILL NOT represent the United States of America by disgracing it with his lack of devotion and patriotic sense to the country.
Good words Phantom. Thumbs up on that.
But we also have to understand that Obama nor McCain is going to save you. Conservatives nor Liberals are going to save you. Democrats nor Republicans are going to save you.
Politics are the art of compromise, which many of the dealings has nothing directly affecting our lives.
Politicians give out wish lists, but it is up to us to do what we can. The Space Race was a great example of that. It wasn’t Government, it was the people of the USA that said they wanted to win in Space. :)
Energy Independence isn’t going to come from a leftist ideology (far from it) nor a corporate pandering ideology. It’s us! Not sacrifice. Not sit and wait for Uncle Sam. Not wait for a handout. It’s going to be done by thousands upon thousands of people, from huge corporations to an individual working on an invention in his garage. It is a mind set. One that cannot be done with most of the nation looking for a government freebie.
Obama talks about his mother’s and grandmother’s experience in another time Capn.
I live in the here and now.
Obama offers me no hope.
Sheesh and we wonder why so many people in this country do not even bother to vote. Why should they? The cons will f$%k you. The Dems will say “I love you.” and then f$%k you.
The bush america deserves damnation. It is the Republican leaders that have damned America. Damn them to hell!
But we shall overcome.
Besides the lust for revenge that was missing, what did you disagree with?
Regular? Barack wore a lapel pin tonight. If he did or not, doesn’t matter. That is a big time non-issue. So much so, it’s like asking you what you had for breakfast 11 years ago. It does or shows nothing.
New Gallup poll: Obama 48, McSame 42
And that was BEFORE the speech tonight.

No, it shows Obama is a dishonest flip flopper.
Having breakfast and being proud of the American flag are two different things.
And, it is a big deal. Obama WILL NOT set a foot on Air Force One, the American Flag Bearing Aircraft representing the United States.
If Obama despises wearing the America flag on his chest when it inconveniences him, what he’s going to do when he visits another country? Spray paint out the American flag on the aircraft?
Oh wait, never mind, Obama has already done that. He had the American flag removed from his plane and replaced with his “Oboy” logo.
He offers tax cuts for the middle class, cheaper ins. premiums for the uninsured, the same ins. congress has for the uninsured, tax incentives for companies that keep jobs here, helping America retool to build the vehicles of the future, higher education for those that not only serve in the military but for those that serve the country. Restoring our position in the world, upholding constitutional rights. Ending torture as a tool of the military. I’m sure I’m leaving some out.
(first uninsured shoud read insured)
Reg. if that’s your best shot, your party’s in deep doo doo.
Better to carry the flag in your heart than on your lapel.
BlueJay, at least they will feel better.
People actually think that Obama is going to radically change their own personal lives.
The sane of us know, that is just a fairy tale, but you can’t blame them for wanting to believe that. Just as people believe in Jesus as the Son of God.
But Obama has to play that role. All Presidential Candidate has to play to the suckers of our society for the vote. In office, they do what they can, but they aren’t going to reach out at save you personally.
You’re a number and a demographic. That’s all. That is how government is run, it is never anything personal. Governments are humanless organizations. Obama and McCain are going to run it the same way.
It’s just the way of life, people.
Don’t know about you, but I’d like to live in the America Obama talked about.
Obama says,
“Don’t tell me Democrats won’t defend this country.”
At large? I wouldn’t why would I? What’s my stake?
The real enemies of America are corporate greed and power. Take THEM on Barack. Then come on back and talk to me.

You haven’t read the whole thread, I’ve been commenting all night about Obama’s short comings.
Obama is a flip flopping, inexperienced loser who befriends terrorists, accepts campaigns from them and promotes anarchy then denies he did it.
I think Obama may be as genuine as Bill Clinton in caring about people, and wanting to improve their lot. I also think he shares the same values of the middle class and less fortunate.
If he achieved only a part of what he talked about, it would be a big step in the right direction.
I also think he might not get to live to see the end of his first term. The rich don’t like to be messed with.
Phantom. Obama’s America, probably isn’t too bad. But at the moment, I would have to say that I personally like McCain’s. I don’t agree with everything McCain has to say or believe it (we all never really do to any one person anyways) McCain just keepin’ it more real that Obama at this time.
That can change from now till November. But Obama is going to have to shake off the radical leftist that have a lot of puppet strings with the Democratic Party. That is going to be very tough, and probably won’t happen, meaning that will cost Obama the election.
He’s got to shake off the radical leftist and not have anything to do with any of their ideologies or representatives. He needed them for campaign funds and help get him through the Primaries, but can he shake the cakes?
The only way they can be taken on is with the masses behind him. That was Clinton’s strength.
Mccain is just maintain the status quo. The status quo sucks.
Now you are starting to waver a bit Phantom? Not live to his second term? Less-fortunate (a phrase that is ridiculous only to say that people are just unlucky or having nothing good about them).
People who cannot help themselves are called Dependents. And as a caring society, we as a people and with the government, help those who cannot help themselves.
Somebody or a family that is having a tough time? Join the crowd. Billions of people find it hard to live everyday. It’s called life. Not less fortunate.
Saying somebody is less fortunate is saying that they are denied an entitlement that is owed to them. That is ridiculous. A phase that the Catholic Church uses for many generations to conger donations from their congregation.
08-29-08:
Happy Birthday: John McCain, Michael Jackson, and J R…
I honor you all for different reasons.
But yet, you all are Americans whom I respect and will work for this day. And many days to come…
Night all,
Steven
Congratulations to Barack Obama on a terriffic speech, about Truth, Justice, and the American Way!!
And now, lead on O fearless leader!!
In the words of Obama, regarding the Right Wing thinking people among us: ENOUGH!!! ENOUGH!!!
Phantom, You will be surprised. I mean, you believe that McCain is Bush 3rd term, status-quo as you say, but every person is different and every administration is. McCain will run things differently from Bush. That is for sure.
What are you hoping for from Obama? Free health care? More money in your pocket?
January 17, 1955, at 11 am EST, NAUTILUS’ first Commanding Officer, Commander Eugene P. Wilkinson, ordered all lines cast off and signaled the memorable and historic message, “Underway On Nuclear Power.”
_______________________________________________
August 28, 2008, Obama the khaki messiah said he would “find ways to safely harness nuclear power,”
_______________________________________________
What a maroon!
Less fortunate in my writing referred to lower class, which I consider a crude term.
Personal health care is not one of my immediate concerns, although it could be in the future. A better economy is something the country definitely needs.
A growing disparity between rich and poor, and the disintegration of the middle class is something we all should be concerned with.
There’s quite a difference between gaining 7500, and losing 2500 for most people. Backwards is not a good direction. In my opinion the country stopped moving forward as a whole, and it stopped with the election of 2000.
I think I will turn in.
I don’t like separating people by social economic status. We are all people, rich or poor, it doesn’t matter.
The poor would like to be rich, I understand that. Everybody wishes to be rich.
But the Rich get richer, because they keep on doing the things that make the rich. The poor get poorer, because they keep on doing the things that make them poor. And the so called, people who are doing okay (gov term, middle class)keep on doing the things that make them okay.
That is how life is.
Can governments radically change social-economics status of their people? Sure they can. Leftist forms of governance is a real fast way to bring massive poverty to your country. Uncontrollable corruption is another. Weak leadership is another.
Bush Administration? I don’t think so. He sucks, but McCain is right, the economy in America is on a firm footing. It can do better, but we are doing ok as a nation. The Bush Administration isn’t putting you in the poor house.
There is a lot of factors with that number you tout. 1. illegal immigration. 2. baby boomer retirement.
That alone skews the numbers. But you can believe anything you hear, so long as a person with a D says it. So I understand.
Good night Phantom. Love chatting with ya!
ict- The rich that I know goes takes a few days off from their work during the week to play golf. How is that doing what makes them rich? The poor I know cry when their child gets sick and has to take a day off once every three months- because they can’t afford to take the time off and are afraid to lose their job.
Wow i should have read the rest of that statement. I can’t argue with someone who is obviously so disconnected from reality.
How many poor people do you see squandering money on the country club golf scene during the week?
Just curious.
Here I’ll break it down.
The Poor, work for the money.
The middle class, works for good money.
The upper crust, has the money work for them.
I missed the part of the speech promoting ‘anarchy.’
People actually think that Obama is going to radically change their own personal lives.
Maybe some people do, but the majority are waiting for the chance to make those changes themselves, without being held back or held down.
As Obama said, it’s not easy to pull yourself up by your bootstraps when you have no boots.

What a typical, predictable speech by Obama.
Good for cheer leading, totally lacking substance.
===================================================
Actually, there was a ton of substance. He did, in fact, explain, though, why the McCain people would be unable to understand that fact. Looks like he knew what he was talking about.
Like the guy or not, he CAN speak. He is one of the best political orators I’ve heard. Clear, concise, no obvious gaffs. Compare that to Bush . . . . . . . . . still waiting . . .
———————-
So you like motivational speakers?
Why don’t you elect one of those Ronco Widget speakers?
“It slices, it dices, it chops and it’s only $9.99!”
======================================================
Is that your answer to bushspeak? Because if that’s all you got, you ain’t got nothin’
………….so sorry to dissapoint you boxtop!
Immediately after President Obama’s speech, I chose to go to bed. I knew I needed to get up and to my classroom early this morning. I wanted to get some work done so I don’t have to take as much home over this long LABOR Day weekend.
I wasn’t aware a choice to hit the sack early actually makes me a “coward”. Then again, you reichwingers are a bit warped.
The offer is still there little man. Since you mentioned my mother, maybe you’d like to debate her in public first. It might be more of your speed to go at a 75 year old Democrat. She’d slice and dice your sorry a** easily though.
LOSER
Apophis,
You just keep talking….back it up coward….where.
You are the one flapping your gums about meeting and you are too coward to do so.
I am saying put up or shut up.
If you feel the need to bring your mother…fine, whatever you need little man.
Hey, you don’t need to cower like you do.
All I want to do is find out who to name when I go to the school administration with some of the things you have said on the blog.
You say you’re such a big man….in your middle school, ha, so do what you say and name a place or give a name.
Again, put up or shut up, everyone is tried of your big mouthed….mousie attitude.
‘tired’, not ‘tried’ above.
Oh and Oedipus, what are you afraid of if you are so well respected, (in your own mind anyway) with someone approaching the school about you?
Here’s a poll, interedtingly, before today, when questions were asked about obama they were pretty equal both sides, but today:
