Two requests for Wichita’s second city manager citizens committee of 2008, as the 16-member panel convenes today at City Hall under new chairwoman Misty Bruckner to try to replace Pat Salerno (in photo), who was supposed to replace City Manager George Kolb: Be as transparent and open with the public as possible (something that may be more difficult given the larger role this time of a national search firm). And please — please — identify and interview more than one finalist for the job.

We have an acting city manager in Scott Moore. The City of Wichita needs to get back to the basics such as repairing the city’s aging infrastructure, etc. Forget another expensive search for another east coast whiz kid. We haven’t had a real city manager since Cherches left.
And Wichita citizens need to look at a restructuring of the city and county organization charts.
More like City manager search reflux.
They swallowed and it came right back up.
They got our attention with their last “attempt” to fill this position. We know they can’t be trusted and we need to pay careful attention!
Wouldn’t it make lots of sense to allow Scott Moore time to show his skills at this position? Sure less expensive and may show the perfect person is already found!
Y’all are lucky to have Scott. I bet Austin would LOVE to have him back! I know Ellsworth would.
There is some really wrong things going on in Derby, soon to come out if people that have done wrong aren’t written up or fired for going against the policy that they wrote. Maybe the CM should look toward Wichita
