“Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback says China will spy on Olympic visitors, including journalists and human rights activists. To which President Bush said, ‘Since when do you need an Olympics to do that?’” — Comedy writer Jim Barach, quoted in Newsday

Well, duh . . . It’s a communist country. Spying is what they do. Brilliant deduction, Sam.

Sure looks strange to see Brownback’s name and brilliant in the same sentence. Could only happen with sarcasm! ;-)

” I think I’ll give our Chinese brothers some pointers on the fine art of spynification. Shoot, I’ve had years of experience; how do you think I got through Yale and ventriculated to Harvard?” stated President Bush.

I am certain that Bush will work in a chance to say “me love you long time” while visiting the officials there.

I hope he does not stop in Isreal on the way home. They are pretty damn close to launching attacks into Iran to take out suspected nukes.
Don’t want Bush to help start WWIII.

Sounds like China has their own Homeland Security with warrantless wiretaps and searches.

Rev. Pat Mahoney, Brandi Swindell, and Michael McMonagle were detained after Chinese police broke up a press conference in Tiananmen Square where the group was attempting to speak out against China’s forced abortion policies, religious persecution, and other human rights violations. The three were taken into custody and spent several hours at a Beijing police station where their cell phones were disabled and they were threatened with lengthy jail sentences. Authorities demanded that they pay $2,000 apiece for immediate plane tickets out of China. The group refused, stating that they had done nothing wrong. Supporters in the United States became concerned after having no communication from the group for over 24 hours.
Eventually, the Chinese government paid for the tickets and put the three Americans on an Air China flight back to Los Angeles with only a plastic bag of personal items. The rest of their luggage remains in China.
