You know it’s an election year when . . .

donkeyToday’s Opinion Line in The Eagle includes this comment:
“You know it’s an election year when Republicans act ‘compassionate’ and are pro-small government again.”
That made us wonder: How might you bloggers end a sentence beginning with those words: “You know it’s an election year when . . .”?
The floor is yours.

You know it’s an election year when you open your eyes first thing in the morning.

(elections never end, not these days, do they?)

But, in the spirit of things, you know it’s a POTUS election year…

…when the Democrats put forth a foreign policy, and even spend some time talking about it.

…when the Republics suddenly begin making noises about spending.

…when prominent white Democrat males affect deep South shouts and calls in urban black churches…and African-Americans respond.

…when the Republics, in horror, just run and hide from the NAACP.

…when Republics take herculean steps to hide massive donations to the dark underbelly of American culture (Swift Boats, war on Christmas, war on Christianity, eeeevil gays, etc.).

…when Democrats are somehow surprised — shocked! — when in late September the dark underbelly of America somehow takes 5% of their support over to the Republics.

    Big eye roll…

Because, ya know, morris is so moderate…

    heheheheheheheheheheheheheh!

Get back to blowing melvin and big coal, big ag and big pharma!

Geez, what the hell does morris think he was elected to do? Provide good government or some crazy thing? Or further the wingnut agenda?

As a former resident of Stevens County, and my family now lives in Seward County, I keep in touch with what is going on in Western Kansas. I tend to be enraged every time Morris or Neufield open their mouths.

Does anybody remember that Sunflower stiffed its mostly foreign, i.e., Japanese, investors out of $2 billion when it built the first plant? Look for it to do the same thing if this new plant is built. My uncle hated those a**holes and worked as hard as he could – to no avail – to keep it from expanding.

My God, not only does this latest raping not pass the stink test, it has become a prime example of what to look for. Remember Watergate and any other greed-head endeavor: Follow the money. Somebody’s getting paid off big time.

You know it is an election year when the media fall all over themselves trying to get face time with the candidate of their choice (which is Obama – the media darling).

“New York Times cited research by the Tyndall Report, which monitors newscasts, which found that America’s networks devoted 114 minutes to covering Obama in the last month and just 48 minutes to McCain.”

“John McCain, whose own visit to Europe and the Middle East in March received much more low key media coverage. No anchors accompanied McCain on his tour.” All major networks are sending their leads to endorse, excuse me, I mean “report” on Obama.

When newspaper editors like this one post a dig at republicans. Unfair and unbalanced.

I TOTALLY agree American Way! I’ve been asking for more coverage of McCain for weeks! I want the camera on him 24 / 7 and the microphone at his mouth and “open” every second! Let’s demand he have no time uncovered! It would only be fair.

“Let’s drop the pretence that this is a fact-finding trip [by Obma] and call it what it is: the first of its kind campaign rally overseas,”
    guardian.co.uk/world

Interestingly, the media overseas is somewhat startled by the disproportionate airtime given Obama.

I have no love for John MClame, but it should be of concern to Americans how our news is being slanted.

Not too far from George Orwells, ‘1984′?
The offical controlled media was Newspeak.

Recall Syme, a Newspeak expert. “His job was destroying words. Synonyms and antonyms were used to create shades of meaning, and useless. The aim of Newspeak was to narrow the possible thoughts a person can have to a point where thought will be impossible because there will be no language in which to understand it.”

Hard to cut through all the Obama glamore and captivating speaking to find facts. For instance, what does “America cannot stand another president who doesn’t understand the threats which confront us.” really mean? Is there substance to any of the talking points?

What you’ll notice, and this may strike you as being a bit odd, is that all the quoted prices by the Republics will be almost identical. As such in order to succeed, one should have your eyes. Simply put, the Democrats must use a ” what you see is what you get ” display, also known as Western Kansas, pronounced, ” wiz-ee-wig “.

You know it’s an election year when…

The news starts talking about how bad things are such as gas prices, Global Warming, etc. (except this year they are leaving about the Iraq War).

The democrats start talking like they care about what the religious Christians think and that they are for their issues too.

The republicans start talking like the democrats about certain issues just to get their votes such as gay rights and so on.

I say ENOUGH already, don’t they know we have finally figured out that they ALL are lying to us!!!

    Speaking of flip-flops –

“The term flip-flopping doesn’t do justice to Mr. McCain’s self-contradictory economic pronouncements because that implies there’s some rational, if hypocritical, logic at work. What he serves up instead is plain old incoherence, as if he were compulsively consulting one of those old Magic 8 Balls.
