Winning message on personal responsibility

obamaIn a speech Monday to the NAACP, Barack Obama didn’t back down from the tough and needed message he’s been giving to the black community on personal responsibility, especially on fatherhood.

“If we’re serious about reclaiming that dream, we have to do more in our own lives,” Obama told the NAACP audience to loud applause. “There’s nothing wrong with saying that.”

The Rev. Jesse Jackson might think that Obama is “talking down” with this message, but it’s a winner with most Americans.

What’s going on now…the most liberal Senator in this country sounding like a conservative.
That’s what conservatives have been saying all along, but of course them being called racist, bigoted, selfish, etc. while doing so.
Jackson is a money grubbing, racist-bigot, with a goal of dividing people and races, and stands to lose if blacks, and of course everyone for that matter, becomes more responsible.

A good positive message that only a person perceived as black could deliver to the NAALCP. Of course, it is directed to the black community at large.

And the Rev Jesse Jackson, he of the blame game, desperately tries to hold on as his grip loosens…

Barack Obama wants to be the black Ronald Reagan.

    Told ya.

I haven’t voted for a Republican (honest about it or otherwise) for almost 25 years. I aint gonna go back to it now.

No, he sounds like a human who is concerned with his fellow man.

    Maybe you should try it.

And so am I, with kind of a tough love attitude.
You can’t help folks long term by making them feel entitled to things provided by others.

While supporting the same old liberal policies that encourage people to run away from their responsibilities, Obama talks up responsibility.

Obama advocates not letting the father have any say over the decision making process of whether the baby lives or is aborted, yet insists that the father should be “responsible” for the child post utero.

    Typical Obama speach:
words, words, words….applause (repeat at least 10 times)

It’s kind of like when the the Fed Chairman talks up the importance of protecting the value of the US dollar while simultaneously inflating it with bailouts and low interest rates.

Watch what they do, not what they say.

The Jackson family and the Obama family have known each other for years.
Michelle Obama is God Mother to one of Jesse’s grandchildren.
This is mostly theatre, designed to get a few people to believe that Obama is a “new kind of South Side Chicago politician.”

So far, it is all talk. What POLICY changes would Obama make, that would enforce personal responsibility?

Jesse Jackson has long been an enabler of Chicago street gangs.

Obama is not much better. In the state legislature, Obama voted AGAINST a measure that made the promotion of gang activity, or promoting crime as a part of gang activity, a crime.

Gang initiation usually requires a rape, murder, or other illegal act. Obama would not stand against such activity.

Obama could talk against the “Don’t snitch” or
the “stop snitching” gang bang culture. That might help.

I doubt that Obama will say anything that might upset the hip-hop, gang bang culture.

Chicago has experienced one of the worst periods of gang violence in history, over the last year.

Farrakhan, Pastor Wright, Jesse Jackson, Michelle Obama and Barrack Obama all live in Chicago.

If the American press covered murder, in Chicago, the same way the American press covers murder, in Bagdad, Obama would not have a chance.

    Horsecrap, on both counts.

people who fall into the circle of influence of the: Russian, Mexican, Italian mafia, Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs, good ol boy rednecks, all have rules about snitching so it isnt just a “black” thing

Yeah, let’s criticise Obama for asking fathers to take responsibility.

That way we can justify a vote for the guy that dumped his first wife and mother of his three children after her disabling injury to marry a girl 17 years younger with a 100 million dowry.

The Russian, Mexican, Italian and other gangs have not made t-shirts and ball caps that say “stop snitching” or “don’t snitch” and they don’t make rap music that condemns snitching.
Besides, even if other groups are doing such things, Obama STILL should have the guts to attack hip-hop gang-banger culture head on.

No, On Tougher Penalties for Gang-Bangers
In 2002, Obama voted “NO” on HB 1812, a bill designed to toughen penalties for crimes committed in furtherance of gang activities.

    Well of course it is.

Because most Americans live a bad reality.

They get up every day and dutifully punch a clock.

To make money for someone else.

Who is Barack making money for? His message seems to be show up, punch in go to work.

Who is he doing that for?

Reminiscent of Jesse Jackson’s 1988 stump speech…. “They work HARD… They take the EARLY Bus… They make money for somebody else, and barely get by on their own!!” (paraphrase of Jackson’s stump speech)

Actually, one of the secrets to getting rich, from those “rich” people who have talked to me, is to ENJOY your work.
If you find that impossible, find another line of work!
Some people think that they are entitled, with little or no effort, to what everyone else has earned.
    Risk is involved, as well.
Those who never better themselves, take no classed to keep up, do not study the current industry trends etc, do NOT deserve the same reward as those who do.

Effort and reasonable risk-taking produce results.

Sulking, complaining and envy will not make you happy.

And why is it MY responsibility to take care of those who CHOOSE not to be educated, skilled, or ambious? You get out of life what you put into it..if all you do is sit on your ass and whine…well, what can you expect?
I want us to take care of those who CAN’T take care of themselves, not the ones who are too unmotivated to take resposibility and do something about their situation. Life is tough for ALL of us, so get over it already.

    Uh yeah there kinda is.

From the remarks posted in the link, Obama does not define what dream he is saying that about.

He is just, as usual, talking. He does a LOT of talking.

He doesn’t have much of anything interesting to SAY.

It’s amazing. Obama has all the bases covered as usual.

IF he is elected and fails badly, why it will be OUR fault! Pretty slick.

It’s also a strategy that will lose him votes.

So answer my question, JR…why SHOULD I take care of people who are capaple of taking care of themselves but choose NOT to? I’ll save my time, energy, and love for the ones who who CAN’T take care of themselves.

BTW..It’s my husband’s hanger…not mine, and it’s been finished for a long time. Dave likes toys…what can I say?
