Roberts breaking his civility pledge?

robertsSen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., pledged last year that he would campaign for the office and “not campaign against anybody.” But the Kansas Democratic Party is complaining that Roberts already has released two advertisements that campaign against his presumed Democratic challenger, former Kansas congressman Jim Slattery. The latest ad portrays as a bad thing the fact that Slattery has been a lobbyist, even though lobbyists work with all members of Congress, including Roberts.

The simple the office is the better. And that is the biggest and worst losses I’ve ever experienced all came not from the office or reading two advertisements wrongly. If you got two advertisements, you need to use it accurately and follow what it says.

It was a good ad, I saw it. Says a lot about lobbyists in D.C. out of touch with the public and in the tank for major companies.

Roberts may as well break his civility pledge and remain consistent. Consistently pandering. Consistently showing the only thing that matters to him is being reelected.

The ad states all FACTs – Yes, Jim Slattery has been a LOBBYIST for the last 14 years – Yes, he earned $4.4 million in a year. How is it a negative ad if you are just stating facts?

SLATTS should cut the Roberts’ campaign a check for brining Kansans up to date on what he has been doing in Washington for the last 14 years! He was working for SPECIAL INTERESTS! He really doesn’t jive with OBAMA’s message of CHANGE.

Heck, Obama wouldn’t even accept a contribution from Slattery. Ha! He sent it back – and it was $50!!!!!

Roberts is a snake in the grass. Like his idol bush, watch what he does, not what he says.

If Slattery worked for Roberts, I may have to reasses my opinion of him!

If Roberts son is an Airbus lobbyist, Slattery ought to do a commercial on that! Would hit home with many Kansasns.

The man who called his female opponent a b*tch in the last election cycle is pledging civility? Yeah, right!

An Airbus lobbyist? That can’t really be true, can it? If it is, what a gift.

    The man has no shame!
This week, the Slattery campaign issued a multipage press release claiming, or raising questions about, whether Roberts did, indeed, fail to give the proper support to Boeing, perhaps because he received $14,000 in campaign contributions from Northrop Grumman.

Slattery campaign officials claimed the so-called “buy American” provision was removed from the 2006 Defense Authorization Bill with the help and support of Roberts. Slattery supporters also claimed Roberts’ son, David, lobbied the Senate on behalf of EADS concerning the Defense Authorization Bill.

A Roberts spokesman acknowledged Roberts received the $14,000 but said he also received campaign support from Boeing. They said it is likely every member of the Senate Armed Forces Committee received contributions from most every major American defense contractor. They claim Roberts was not a part of the Bush effort that opposed the “buy American” provision. Bush said if the provision was included, he would veto the Defense Authorization bill. It was removed and the measure passed the House and Senate.”
