No easy jokes about Obama — yet

obamahandsup4.jpgThe New Yorker cover depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as fist-bumping terrorists inspired the New York Times to examine the challenge that comedy writers are having in trying to make fun of the Democratic presidential nominee. The comedic line about John McCain is set: He’s old. But Barack Obama’s race and politics complicate the funny factor. Mike Sweeney, the head writer for Conan O’Brien on “Late Night,” is optimistic: “We’re hoping he picks an idiot as vice president.”

Osama Obama is easy to make fun of. He has virtually zero executive experiences, avoids making controversial commitments when voting (votes present) and his legislative record is practically non-existent.

If clean and articulate were the only attribute for the Presidency, then every motivational speaker out there would surpass Obama in content and in ability as being qualified to gain the office.

Obama is still one of the top two most liberal Senators and he is fooling no one with his flip/flopping dogma.

Either candidate will make for great late nite talk show host materials. I’m sure either will be the brunt and butt of many jokes and satires.

Oh my gosh, no kidding. The more effective Obama proves he can be the more “Conservatives” attack him. They’d rather have someone incompetent in office – but get their way – than do what would be best for our country.

Obama seems to think he can make up all the rules. If you talk about his policies or associations you are engaging in far right smearing. He is an elitist who thinks the sheep are stupid.

Obama KNOWS the sheep are stupid! That’s why when his policies and associations are skewed and reported inaccurately he speaks out. Of course the stupid sheep have previously decided who to listen to so don’t hear the corrections. Luckily, those 25percenters are fewer in number.

Obama is an Iranian nuke sympathiser.
    Hard to joke about that:

“4) Obama, who rarely shows up for work since his campaign began and misses 89% of Senate votes in the last quarter of 2007, goes out of the way during that last quarter of 2007…despite the overwhelming support for the passed Kyl/Lieberman amendment …to show up in DC, and propose a new resolution on November 1 which would reverse Kyl/Lieberman and “coincidentally”satisfy Hussein Fadallah’s concerns about the US declaring War. To provide cover, Obama claimed he was doing it to constrain President Bush, but the following AP story reveals that he was trying to nullify the Kyl/Lieberman amendment.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrat Barack Obama introduced a Senate resolution late Thursday that says President Bush does not have authority to use military force against Iran, the latest move in a debate with presidential rival Hillary Rodham Clinton about how to respond to that country’s nuclear ambitions.

Clinton’s campaign accused Obama of playing politics instead of taking a leadership role from the outset.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said the Illinois senator drafted the measure in an effort to “nullify the vote the Senate took to give the president the benefit of the doubt on Iran.”

Burton was referring to an amendment sponsored by Sens. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., and Joe Lieberman, an independent from Connecticut, that passed 76-22 on Sept. 26 and designates Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization.

Here’s the official record of the resolution from the Thomas Library of Congress
Notice Obama could not find a SINGLE OTHER SENATOR to COSPONSOR. His resolution of course died.

S.J.RES.23 : A joint resolution clarifying that the use of force against Iran is not authorized by the Authorization for the Use of Military Force Against Iraq, any resolution previously adopted, or any other provision of law.
Sponsor: Sen Obama, Barack [IL] (introduced 11/1/2007) Cosponsors (None)
    Committees: Senate Foreign Relations
Latest Major Action: 11/1/2007 Referred to Senate committee. Status: Read twice and referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations.

Why would the Senator that is best known for 140+ “present” votes in the Illinois State Senate, and for failing to go out on a political limb on many key issues, go out of his way to introduce a resolution to a US Senate to overturn a resolution that only 37 days earlier that Senate had overwhelmingly passed. It had also passed the House of Representatives one day earlier. What had changed in that 37 days? Obama had already established for the record that had he been present on September 25 he would have voted against the Kyl/Lieberman amendment. There was certainly no significant action by Iran in those 37 days to justify a softening in US posture. But something had happened …publicized outrage from Sheik Mohammad Hussein Fadallah, Hizbullah’s spiritual leader.

    5) Obama meets privately with Hizbullah’s spiritual leader’s friend, Imam Hassan Qazwini, the spiritual leader of the Islamic Center of America

May 14 08 Obama meets privately with America’s top Imam. Obama could easily have invited him to take part in an already scheduled meeting with 20 other local leaders. Obama declined; instead Obama requested a private meeting with the Imam. The same Imam also confers in private with Hezbollah’s notorious spiritual leader, Sheik Mohammad Hussein Fadallah

Imam Hassan Qazwini the spiritual leader of the Islamic Center of America – Dearborn Michigan, the largest Mosque in North America met yesterday Wednesday May 14, 2008 with Senator Barack Obama the Democratic presidential candidate. The private meeting between the two took place at Macomb Community College – Michigan. In this meeting Imam Qazwini and Senator Obama discussed the upcoming presidential election, the Arab-Israeli conflict in the Middle East and the War in Iraq.

Furthermore, in the end of the meeting Imam Qazwini offered a copy of his newly released book ‘American Crescent’ (see cover at right) to senator Obama. Imam Qazwini also invited Senator Obama to visit the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn. Source

The photo showing the Imam meeting Obama was published in the Detroit Free Press. Additionally, Imam Qazwini is close to Sheik Mohammad Hussein Fadallah (Photo Source: Debbie Schussel.com)”

It looks like Obama wants to be the “Senator from Iran”!

Franklin is once again trying to throw that radical Muslim mud onto Obama hoping it will stick.

GWB and the entire Bush family are cozy with the Saudis (which is where most of the 9/11 hijackers came from) and I don’t see any Republicans worried about that relationship.

If this meeting was so secretive, then how is it you seem to have all the facts? I am more concerned about the fact the Iraqi prime minister Maliki personally went to Iran to reassure them of their safety from the US. And Maliki did this right under Bush’s nose after we have spent billions of dollars “liberating” their country and what thanks do we get? But rather than be upset about this, Bush and Republicans want to spend even more billions of dollars in Iraq and for what gain?

So, Franklin, if you’re so worried about Iran getting nukes, you might want to pressure your boy Bush into asking Iraqi’s prime minister why he is so loyal to Iran. I don’t trust Iraq or Iran. The only power they have over us is the oil. When the US becomes independent of the Middle East oil, that is when the US will once again become the superpower we once were.

BTW, if Iran is such an evil of axis, then why does GWB allow the US to export goods to them? Does profit come before loyalty to one’s country?

My sister reported seeing a bumper sticker that went something like: “Sure, Obama sounds good, but is the country really ready for a president with a brain?”

Now, I found that really funny. YMMV.

In between lame softball broadsides and the mean-spirited “humor” that’s only “funny” to archrighties, there are some decent jokes at Linda’s link.

    I particularly liked this one:

Like any experienced Chicago politician, Obama would go the cemetery to register voters. One night he came across a grave so old and worn that he couldn’t make out the name on the tombstone. The staffer holding the flashlight got impatient and suggested they just move on to the next plot. Obama angrily exclaimed, “This person has a much right to vote as anyone else here!”

You’ve still failed to provide any link or source where Maliki stated he would protect Iran from the U.S.

    _____

Can you not Google? I found several sources when researching for true facts, not just those facts you want to believe given by King Rush or whoever you listen to on talk radio. I’ll give you one though since you are unable or unwilling to even try to Google. – Try Voices of America. Just Google al Maliki visit with Iran June 2008 and see how many media sources covered the story.

For being such a knowledgable political hack you seem to think you are, I would think you would already know this but maybe I have you confused with someone that truly cares about his country?

And don’t try skating around the word ‘protect’. Iraqi’s prime minister went personally to Iran to assure them that Iraq will not let the US harm them from their bases – in my book, is that not the same as protecting our sworn enemy, Iran, from us? If not, then what do you call it? At the least, it is betrayal to us after we have spent billions on their country and now they want us out – isn’t that enough proof for you that Iraq and Iran cannot be trusted?

McCain does not have a stellar voting record during this campaign. Look at both their voting record for the 1st quarter of ‘08. And if memory serves me, McCain didn’t vote on the FISA bill.
