Governors waiting for call this year

At the National Governors Association meeting recently in Philadelphia, there was a bit of buzz about whether any of the assembled might win the running mate lottery this year — after three decades during which presidential showdowns always featured either a former or sitting governor in either the Republicans’ or Democrats’ top spot. Gov. Kathleen Sebelius garnered attention as a possible Barack Obama pick, of course, as did Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, whose mother, like Obama’s, grew up in El Dorado. Associated Press noted that no governor has been chosen as a running mate since 1968, when Richard Nixon tapped Maryland Gov. Spiro Agnew. That ended badly five years later, when Agnew resigned amid a bribery scandal. “Maybe that’s why — it took that long to forget,” said Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack, who was considered for John Kerry’s ticket in 2004.

I think it is really down to her or Evan Bayh. I think it will be one of those 2.

Osama Obama will select someone from a swing state or a heavily populated state so he can carry said state.

She did not handle the national news very well at all.

You don’t run away. If you have taken a position on an issue you should not run from it.

“as did Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, whose mother, like Obama’s, grew up in El Dorado”

Surely the El Dorado COC can do something with that.

    I dunno. Something like:

“El Dorado. We breed big time politicians. Come visit anyway.”

I see how well Russell took advantage of producing both bob dole and arlen spector. Well, arlen lived there only for a little while. But still…

“Russell. Producing oil and wingnuts since before you can remember…”

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been putting together a “What to do after The Rapture” file for my unsaved loved ones.

We’ve made it clear to my daughter that if she doesn’t come to Christ before we go that she is to get this file and share it with everyone. I’ve got a list of names and contact info to put in the file.

Anyway, yesterday I just felt very strongly that not only should I remind her of it, but to witness to her for the millionth time and give her complete instructions on what to do as soon as we are gone. I even went so far as to tell her as soon as we are gone that she is to go to a house that belongs to a friend (he’ll be gone too) that’s WAY off the grid. I’m going to talk to him about it tomorrow and get Mapquest directions. He loves her like his own granddaughter so I know it will be fine since all of his loved ones are going too.

I gave Tiff the pin # to my atm and credit cards. I told her to make sure that she plants as big a garden as she can and learn to can food. And told her to not worry about the kids because they will be with Nana. I put instructions in the file about how to start the generator, where her Daddy’s guns are and how to load them, where the spare car and truck keys are, ec cetera.

I mentioned this to my Pastor and he said it’s a good idea to share with all of us who are saved.

Lighten up outlander. The guy is hysterical, whether he means to be or not.

I think his schitck is satirical like God’sPottery on The Last Comic Standing. God’s Pottery was an act of a couple gay seeming fellows who were ardantly optimistic fundamental Christians. In the “doing the dozens” competition they were complimenting their opponents’ mothers. I didn’t think they could get their bit to work in that competition, but it did. They were very very funny. Too bad they got voted off of the show.

RWNB reminds me of the Heaven’s Gate bunch. Time for some kool-aide?
