How low is world public opinion of President Bush? Former Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Hu Jintao are more trusted than Bush to “do the right thing regarding world affairs,†according to an international survey coordinated by the Project on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland. Not that authoritarian leaders Putin and Hu rated high in trustworthiness; they just scored better than Bush.

How could Bush do the Right Thing in world affairs?
He hasnt figured out how to do the Wrong Thing Right yet!!
Well Mr. Brownlee, if you had a clue, you would realize that Americans in general are held in low regard by the rest of the world.
This is nothing new and it is doubtful it will ever change as long as the United States is the leading economic and military power.
Of course, who comes begging if they need something? Yep, those same countries that ‘bad mouth’ the U.S.
The world had eight years of articulate speech, a sound economy with a huge surplus, and carefully crafted international relations with Clinton.
With Bush they got the bottom of the barrel and WORST PRESIDENT EVER.
Had Bush even been mediocre he would have gotten a pass.
“Regular” lies –
“…if you had a clue, you would realize that Americans in general are held in low regard by the rest of the world.
“This is nothing new….”
After 9/11, just about every nation in the world was on America’s side.
Then George WMD Bush screwed it up. At just about every opportunity.
“…are more trusted than Bush to “do the right thing regarding world affairs,” according to an international survey…”
All depends on who you are asking and what is considered ‘the right thing’. The survey is meaningless.
I would rather bash the news media than our own presidents past and present for trivia like this. Americans aren’t needed by others, just their money and their williness to help others in time of need.
Those are not lies MH. Try living outside if the U.S. for a few years and you understand the mindset of the World.
The 911 thing, unfortunately was just a pity party by the other countries. Most could care less and can probably point to worse tragedies in their own country.
No George Bush didn’t screw up anything; he just put some moral and mental handcuffs on duh libs and there was nothing they could do about it.
Sucks to be you doesn’t it MH?
Well, I currently on overseas work contract, and I can assure you with a high confidence level, that Americans are still regarded highly in many respect. It is mainly the current Administration (some may even call it a junta) that they deride. Having said that, there are some circles who do wonder how the general population can be frightened (”terrorized”) and bamboozled into electing Bush in 2004. The 9/11 global phenomenon was a REAL deal. People did felt the hurt of the American people. It was a true sympathy, not just a “pity party”. Those who perished that day had come from all over the world. So, enough with your own “Self Pity Party”.
“No George Bush didn’t screw up anything; he just put some moral and mental handcuffs on duh libs and there was nothing they could do about it.”
…..what “moral and mental handcuffs” are you blathering about so early this morning McLiar?
This kind of asinine comment usually gets posted by you from your 10pm – 1am haunting hours.
“No George Bush didn’t screw up anything; he just put some moral and mental handcuffs on duh libs and there was nothing they could do about it.”
Fleetwood- You better watch out! Regular is going after your cherished and well earned BDP award!
There you go, two more libs that are incapable of commenting on the topic, but comment on other posters.
Sad, but true…Libs have no mind of their own.
……..but it’s more fun to comment on the asinine poster!
Besides, the topic is pretty well cut and dried! The bush criminal organization is despised around the world; let the war crimes tribunals begin!
Glad you’re back Apophis!
Reguliar posted yesterday something about nobody cared what I thought or posted. I had to laugh because most of the time I don’t care either!
I certainly don’t take much of what is written here seriously.
This is a virtual world and anybody that thinks its real or “the truth” is nuts.
Did anybody bother to look up the results of the survey and see that Ahmadinejad scored directly ABOVE Bush?
Now why did Phillip fail to give the guy who is a holocaust denier credit for scoring above Bush?
Perhaps such a revelation would have effectively revealed that the survey has no clout whatsoever.
Thanks for the dead ender Phillip.
I’ve been back for most of the week KS Native, I’ve just been very busy. I was on vacation last week (took the Mrs. on an Alaska cruise). Next week, I’ll be in DC on business so you’ll have to b****-slap the cons in my absence.
FYI……………..I think you post very insightful comments. Anything that makes the poodle/cons dance, is a worthy post!
Survey is beyond meaningless. Most “surveys” are, but this one is even more so.
Now isn’t that sad if Iran’s leader scored just above Bush.
Here’s the thing, its the ones who wield the most power who are the ones who are more watched. Iran’s leader hasn’t attacked anyone….yet.
The neocons disagree with the survey so it must be spot on!
Don’t accept any diminished respect for Americans from this “poll”. Polls come and go and can be framed one way or the other and to produce the result the sponsor wishes. Americans are well liked, though sometimes travel internationally under a Maple Leaf as a fallout from Bush. I saw exactly that it Frankfurt in a huge bar close to the railway station and was amused, not annoyed. Bush and those who elected and sponsored him mystify our friends and give warmth to our enemies. We will all get over it, move on and complain about the next manufactured crisis.
I always find it interesting that the con posters here are such international experts on polling/surveys.
The former head of the KGB is held in higher regards than our president? That is interesting.
Check out this honor which is being bestowed on our “greatest president”:

Guess I will have to join my fellow citizens from San Francisco in doing that symbolic flush on 01-20-09. :)
Steven- A truly fit memorial; I guess the adage is true: Good work is it’s own reward!
Here’s flushing to you George!
In fact, to honor this monument, maybe we need a grass roots movement to change the name of toilets from “crappers” to “bushers”?
???
Just a thought.
Guess the new world order slogan is “Better Red, than Inbred!”
Even Bush trusted Putin more than he did others. Remember “I looked into his eyes … “
I think that was his man crush talking.
I think that the crux of the survey isn’t that people trust these world leaders but that they dont
Who knew de-nile was in Kansas? heheheheh. Amazing that the cons can just dismiss this with a wave of their hands and a big fat razzberry.
And when no one wants to help the poor pitiful USA when push comes to shove with peak oil, dont bother to ask why.
Gster, I think we should adopt your suggestion. If we did it here, maybe it could spread.
“It could be a movement”.
Pun intended.
Must have been the same man crush he had on the former leader of Pakistan.
Say Eagle, you only have 7 more months to slam Bush.
Can’t you do better then this?
Remember, Obama is gonna need all the help he can get to get elected. Since there is nothing positive about Obama to cause a reasonable person to vote FOR him, EAGLE, you need to keep beating that BASH BUSH drum and pretending that Obama is running against BUSH.
Keep beating your dead Bush drum, if it makes you FEEL better.
Only seven months? kewl!
Let’s see it’s actually:
6 months, 27 days, 22 hours, 1 minute…
Keep watching closely! This madman can still cause MUCH trouble in these remaining days!
Did you know soooo many people are interested in the bush countdown that its now a Firefox add-on??
I think the majority of Americans trust Putin more than bush!
If Obama win’s he’s gonna have it made. Anybody (except ancient McCain) is going to look good after Bush.
The achievement bar is set so low….
I want a bush countdown clock.
You said it, KansasNative. The Clinton administration was great. I think it’s time the neocons all go have a beer with Bush. Five’l getya ten, he ends up being prosecuted when they get to the bottom of a few of the messes he’s created.
“It could be a movement”.
Pun intended.
an “anti-masacree movement”?
There I was, sitting on the Group W bench …
Guess I will have to join my fellow citizens from San Francisco in doing that symbolic flush on 01-20-09.
I’ve always said that if everyone flushed their toilets at the same time, Lake Cheney would be empty.
Now we have a chance to find out!
Looking at the accompanying photo, I would say that Putin LOOKS like a spy, whereas Bush looks like Alfred E. Neuman.
The BBC reports to-day that Uncle Sam is being sued by Her Majesty (well the City of London actually) for non-payment of road tolls and other American Embassy vehicle infringements totalling millions of pounds. I thought only the Russians did that to New York! Gawd are we that broke? I wonder if Putin pays up promptly when cited, hmmm…….
A George Bush Memorial Sewage Treatment Plant? Only appropriate if it doesn’t work. Still, it’s almost as good as the Colorado university where the students voted to name the cafeteria after the only man in the state to have been charged with cannibalism.

=================================================
Really? It’s the Liberals who have known from the start Bush has done nothing but lead this country on a path that will take decades to straighten out.
It’s the 28%ers who seem to have no mind in their unwavering support for this idiot. . . and the mind is a terrible thing to waste, so obviously they have already reached that point.
Putin, Hu, and Bush…now there’s the true “axis of evil”.
Didn’t Bush think that Putin was his soul mate or something stupid like that?
Mary- I thought Bush said something about his cell mate; did I misunderstand?
One Trackback
allergy…
nice post about this…..
