“You can’t run this country from the left ditch or the right ditch. You have to run it right down the middle of the road,†Jim Slattery, who plans to file today as a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, recently told a Salina gathering. He also called Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., one of the Bush administration’s “most loyal troops†from 2001 to 2007, and said Roberts has “never had an opponent in his life who’s run a competitive race. He’s in for one this year.†Maybe, but first Slattery has to beat Overland Park railroad engineer Lee Jones in the Democratic primary on Aug. 5.

I want to thank JWINK for pointing out that Senator Roberts is a former marine & Kansas newspaperman. I will also tell Slattery that the danger for idealistic liberal & conservative politicians & journalists is not to get stuck in the “right” or “left” ditch. The real danger for elected officials, politicians, journalists & community activists to get trapped in the dunghill of hypocrisy, elitism, narcissism & self-delusion represented by the clique of self-promoting nepotistic attorneys, politicians & journalists.
As the curtain descends on Bill & Hillary Clinton’s presidential ambitions, does any one in America actually believe that the Clintons ever represented any political ideal other than their self-promotion. Their Nixonian blind ambition led to amorality which ultimately led to immorality. Who cares is the president lied under oath? Congressman Tiahrt starts every political speech with a joke to remind us tht all politicians (himself included I presume) are liars. The joke is about a politician coming across 2 boys fighting over a dog. Todd & his opponent, State Senator Don Betts are perfect examples of cowards who are afraid to spend any political capital to expose evil to protect the constitutional rights of their constituents. Even though Don is on the State Senate Judiciary Committee & serves with Fred Six & Gloria Flentjes on the Supreme Court’s Commission on Judicial Qualifications, Don Betts will demand answers from his buddy, Patrick Woods, who works for Governor Sebelius on SRS issues. Betts & Oletha Faust-Gaudeau will not ruffle any feathers at SRS risk because it would hurt Bett’s new career opportunity as a bureaucrat for USD 259 and Gaudeau’s dreams of following in Rip Gooch’s & Carl Brewer footsteps to become an Uncle Tom insider & friend of Bob Knight and a darling of the clique of fascists at the Wichita Bar Association, the Wichita Eagle and Wichita State University journalism & government faculties.
I appreciate that the Eagle allows me to post these blogs. It is so ironic that Kansas Supreme Court Justice Carol Beier graduated from KU with an under graduate degree in journalism and worked for a newspaper in Kansas City before she went to law school. Beier is a former law partner at the Wichita office of Foulston Seifken and a close friend with Eagle reporter Ron Sylvester, Jack Focht & his wife Gloria Flentje. Beier is the justice who is responsible for monitoring the scandals in Sedgwick County for the Kansas Supreme Court. There is not an ethical or courageous judge, journalist and elected official in Kansas except for State Rep. Jim Morrison from Colby. The Eagle and every other newspaper in Kansas refuses to interview Morrison about his documentation of the numerous civil rights atrocities in Sedgwick County committed by Nola Foulston’s office, pro-life GOP district court judges & candidates for judge and by career SRS and law enforcement employees.
Pat Roberts & Karl Rove know better than anybody that propaganda is more important than principle because the celebrity media journalists like Dan Rather, Rush Limbaugh & Katie Couric and the liberal & conservative civil rights activist only care about their own self-promotion. The only thing that matters to the news reporters from the Bonnie Bing School of celebrity journalism is to promote themselves as power opinion makers who can create personality cults for boring elected officials like Kathleen Sebelius who has been mentioned as a VP candidate or recently did a fashion photo shoot for a fashion magazine.
Underneath it all, there are no real differences between the ambitions, ethics & ideals of different politicians who claim to be polar opposites. The only thing that matters is marketing and the appearance of power. Do Jim Slattery & Pat Roberts, Todd Tiahrt & Don Betts, Ted Kennedy & Sam Brownback, Troy Newman or Al Sharpton?? Open government records advocates Sen. Tim Huelskamp & former Eagle editorial board editor Randy Brown care enough about constitutional rights and free speech to inquire about civil rights atrocities? They only care about trying to climb to the top of the dunghill in Kansas.
I won’t hold my breath waiting for conservative Christians Ken Canfield or Russ Jones to call Jim Morrison and ask him for documentation of the human rights atrocities committed by the Wichita court system against the disabled air force vet Joe Liddle from Iowa and Todd & Rhonda Wait. Ken & Russ are too busy working using their God given political talents to gather prove themselves a king makers and kingdom builders by promoting GOP judges & legislators. I think that Martin Luther King, Barry Goldwater, Hubert Humphrey and yes even Jesus would be disgusted with the politicians, judges, journalists and religious leaders in Kansas. Any one from the above newspapers or the politicians’ offices can contact me if they want me to e-mail scanned documents about these human rights atrocities involving Joe Liddle & Todd Wait.
