Roberts should beware of video stalkers

videocameraDemocratic Senate candidate Jim Slattery isn’t the only one impressed by polls showing him only 9 percentage points behind Sen. Pat Roberts. The Evans-Novak Political Report recently said such polling suggests Slattery could give Roberts “a run for his money. If Roberts runs a smart race, he’ll win, but a misstep of ‘macaca’ proportions could put this one in play.”

Hey Rhonda…how about, if Slattery wins, YOU resign from the Eagle?

Otherwise you are all talk…blah, blah, blah.

Excellent idea. The KDP needs to follow Robert’s every public word and move, with video and audio, because you can bet he’s not talking about children’s health care and he’s not saying nice or true things about Obama or Jim Slattery or Sebelius. He’s out there fear mongering the seniors, the farmers, the Rotarians and the American legion boys. Roberts operates best in the dark. Let the sun shine in — and track, analyze and publish the sources of his campaign money. Big Oil, Big Telecom and Bush’s defense contractors?

If Slattery runs smart, Roberts loses. Slattery needs to tie Roberts to his voting record, and demonstrate that Roberts has been nothing but the Republic party and bush flunkie.

What’s sad is most voters won’t care that his foot-dragging on the pre-war intelligence investigation has left America more vulnerable and behind the curve on fixing our intelligence means and methods…

Given that Roberts is a proud alumnus of the MaxGrobnik (does that sound like a Russian Mafia name to anyone else?) charm school, we need to make sure that his video stalker is female. Perhaps Patty will then slip up with the B-word like he did last election cycle. Priceless!

    Balanced? Bitter? ‘Bama? Brunette? Breast?

The last one reminds me Steven of something I caught on Fox this morning. Bridgett Carlson (former Miss America) and another quite impressive looking ladie were interviewing a guy (I think it was Rich Lowry) about I think Obama’s lead among woman voters. He started his reply with: “I think he wants to make the breast , er best, possible choice…”

My wife got a kick out of that.

    Dear Outlander,

I’m surprised *you* didn’t get it. Fuax News hires a bubbleheaded bimbo to interview a partisan hack, and they consider this “serious journalism.” Did you really expect something erudite from Lowry in response to an interviewer whose only qualifications for the job is to give Rupert Murdoch a reason to keep renewing his Viagra prescription?

    Seriously.

Surely you remember outlander, Roberts called his opponent a b-word that rhymes with witch. The man is a real class act.

Dear Tom: You sexist pig. I know this outside your area of expertise, but there is no reason that a beautiful woman cannot be intelligent.

But the Miss America had no reference other than to let the reader know that she is not hard on the eyes, nor was the other reporter.

If you don’t get it Tom, you don’t get it. Sincerely.

Good job, US Atty Gen. Melgren.
All the people ask for is justice. Call’em like you see them.

Not that party affiliation is important, but .. .?

Wichita, KAN. – Michael L. Goodrich, 47, Baxter Springs, Kan., is charged with two counts of extortion, one count of wire fraud and one count of intimidating a witness. Co-defendant Timothy J. Schooley, 29, Baxter Springs, is charged with one count of extortion.

Goodrich is the County Attorney of Cherokee County, Kan.

“The indictment alleges that Mr. Goodrich received money and favors not due to him from the owner and employees of Sensations Gentleman’s Club in Galena, Kan.,” said U.S. Attorney Eric Melgren. “Mr. Goodrich also is charged with attempting to prevent Assistant County Attorney Garth Adams from giving a truthful statement to agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.”

According to an indictment returned Wednesday by a grand jury meeting in Wichita:
    – Goodrich unlawfully obtained money and favors from Hai Ching Ying, the owner of Sensations Gentlemen’s Club, and from Tom Dekeyser, the manager of the club. The crimes are alleged to have occurred at various times from Jan. 1, 2005, through September 2007, in Cherokee County, Kan.
    – Schooley approached Jason Carsley, an assistant manager of Sensations Gentlemen’s Club, to ask for money to be used for the waitresses and dancers at the club. Carsley obtained permission from the owner and/or manager of the club and gave money belonging to the club to Michael Goodrich.
    – Goodrich received money and property from Sensations Gentlemen’s Club in exchange for favorable and preferential legal treatment for the owner, manager and employees of the club.
    – On March 29, 2007, Thomas Dekeyser, manager of Sensations Gentleman’s Club, called Michael Goodrich for the purpose of discussing future preferential legal treatment to be given to Dekeyser for a traffic ticket received March 29, 2007. Goodrich dismissed the ticket on June 4, 2007, without Dekeyser paying any fines or costs.
    – On July 9, 2007, Goodrich attempted to intimidate Assistant Cherokee County Attorney Garth Adams in an effort to alter a truthful statement that Adams was planning to give to FBI agents.

Upon conviction, the alleged crimes carry the following penalties:
    – Extortion: A maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
    – Wire fraud: A maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
    – Intimidating a witness: A maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation worked on the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mona Furst is prosecuting.

As in any criminal case, a person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The indictments filed merely contain allegations of criminal conduct.
