I don’t watch South Park because I don’t find it amusing. As in, “not funny”–lame, obvious, and smug. SO smug, in fact. I though the first movie was pretty funny, but “Team America” gave up on the humor in favor of making a heavy handed ideological point. I grant that the puppet sex WAS pretty funny.

One of the things about being in MY skin, which is to say, that of being a practicing Christian with a Jewish heritage and a WASP last name, is that people feel comfortable using anti-Semitic stereotypes and slurs because they think you’re not Jewish. And they get REAL quiet when you tell them you are. I’m an adult with a big mouth who isn’t afraid of a fight; obviously. But in every case, I ALWAYS would prefer that the person had not said what he or she said. It’s just no fun, and is generally a losing proposition, to have to call someone out–as the current exchange makes abundantly clear.
