It needs to be made clear to every senator–especially you-know-who–that stripping this provision is worth killing the bill, if necessary and that having no bill is better than having a bill that allows the Executive to excuse private-sector crimes.

There are petitions, email, and good ‘ol postal letters (perhaps the most effective, with proper cc:s) available to influence to end result. Public pressure kept the first awful bill from becoming law. Let’s stop this now, folks.

Thus, you implied that only conservatives have faith. This is, by the way, a categorically false statement.

Thus, at the very least you clearly posted insults to entire classes of people based on your perception of their agreement with your principles. This is hardly friendly behavior. It is also arguably every bit as hateful as the posting behavior of those you claim (to the extent that one can glean the emotional state of people from what they post).

Here, however, is the capper.

To be real honest, I am sick of the debate regarding gay rights and gay marriage.

I am sick that there IS a debate.

In a country that “prides” it’s self on being a beacon of freedom, why is this an issue? Why is the behaviors of a few a cause for such outrage by the many?

The nonsense about suspending the gas tax is just an example. The opportunistic attempt to tie into the hypothetical God and Guns crowd after Obama’s gaffe represents another.

Obama is no saint, never thought he was. And your claim that they have “no right” is complete and total bullsh*t. They have every right to advocate for this and to get it through. There are those of us who are straight who have the emotional and intellectual maturity, and for that matter the simple decency, to not try to deny people who love each other romantically to make a lifetime commitment to one another. What right do YOU have to tell them differently? Your claim that they have “no right” is simply an empty assertion, meaning nothing. And regarding the majority comment you so like to bring up at this point, as I have pointed out before…

1) When the Supreme Court ruled on the Loving case, the “majority” of citizens opposed interracial marriages. Yet, you yourself have indicated that you consider the ruling to be correct. Therefore, there is already precendent for disregarding the “majority”.

2) The demographics are changing. The majority of my daughter’s generation does not believe that gay marriage should be outlawed. My step daughter helped to found a gay straight alliance at her high school.
