As for the rest of the list:

Accountability and self-reliance are not in step with a bigger and more powerful government to provide for your retirement, health care, and education.

Working hard without excuses is contrary to ‘you can’t therefore government should do it for you’ mantra.

And go look at the application of campus speech codes and wonder if progressives want to treat their neighbor as they would like to be treated.

Pretty cut and dried really.

WASHINGTON – Echoing comments by Barack Obama, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius predicts that Republicans would undertake “a major effort to try and frighten people about him” because of his race.

“That has been the Republican playbook for the last eight years,” said Sebelius, an Obama ally. “‘He’s not qualified, he’s somebody who should scare you. He’s too liberal.’ ”

Sebelius, a two-term Democrat who is often mentioned as a possible running mate for Obama, said those were all “code words” to try to make voters uncomfortable.

“I don’t think anybody’s going to go directly at the race issue, but that’s going to be an underlying theme,” she said in an interview this week.

Sebelius has defined RACISM in terms of daring to question Obama’s experience or ideology. According to our governor, Republicans and others who say “He’s not qualified, or he’s too liberal”, are really saying “He’s black, don’t vote for him”?????

Shame Governor Sebelius. Shame.

One of the charming moments during Obama’s appearance in El Dorado last winter was when he introduced his grandmother’s cousin or niece or something — it got a bit complicated — who was sitting in the audience.

It wasn’t a campaign moment, it was a family reunion moment. This elderly lady explaining the family tree and it seemed absolutely irrelevant that Barack had darker skin than she. It was absolutely a race-neutral moment; a moment that wasn’t “speaking to power” but just a distant relative explaining how the family tree (as with all of us) takes twists and turns.

It was simply a genuine personal moment.

RepubliCONs hate to admit it — and it is positively Rovian that they’d try to portray Obama as an “elitist” — but the Democrats have a candidate who really has lived the American dream. Work hard, get smart, earn your way into the best education available, succeed… as opposed to John Sidney McCain the Third (for Shrub’s 3rd term) who got into Annapolis due to his daddy and grand-daddy and who got out with four people with worse grades than his.

Most die-hard Republic Party advocates (Bill Kristol comes to the top of the mind, but they are legion) got that way because they picked the right parents.

Obama most certainly picked the wrong father to make make him a “comfortable” choice for President of the United States. But his personal character and intelligence and achievements have brought him to the brink of the American Dream.

And his writings and his speeches demonstrate that he understood the traditional Kansas values of his mother and grandparents.

As much as his skin color has affected his life’s journey, Obama is comfortable in his skin as a slightly more tanned offspring of traditional “white” America. He’s most certainly learned the irony, first hand, of a nation that declared its independence by declaring “…all men are created equal,” and founded a government by declaring some men were 3/5ths of a human.

You CONs can attack Obama for all sorts of political differences you might have, but you’re absolutely suicidal if you introduce the race card into the discussion.

Obama is just as much a white boy Kansas grandson as he is the spawn of a Kenyan. More so, probably, given the way his childhood and adolescence and young adulthood worked out.

The guy his classmates called “John McNasty” crashed four planes before he got shot down over North Vietnam. He was reckless. He was hot-headed. But he was the son and grandson of 4-Star Admirals, so he got a pass.

McC*nt sold out and “confessed” to war crimes after torture so he could earn preferential treatment from his captors.

McBush has proven himself willing to say anything to advancee his position.

He’s now pro-torture, pro-raping-the-enviornment, pro-tax-cuts for his wife the ultra-wealthy, pro-corruption (the Keating Five), and pro- (before he was con- ) Shrub’s Big Oil-pandering energy policies.

I would remind fellow bloggers that one of my links, on this thread, is to a Black Medical Doctor.
That Doc’s basic thesis is that the very racist “Bell Curve” theory is bogus, primarily because of the extensive cross-racial heritage which is America.
That Doctor uses the evidence that we have had 5 Presidents, in our Nations history, with Black heritage to attack the “Bell Curve” racist theory.
