John McCain has a tricky challenge: winning Christian conservatives without losing moderates and independents. “His election hopes rely on drawing in the political middle and Democrats who might be turned off should he woo the religious right too heavily by, for instance, highlighting his anti-abortion position more on the campaign trail,†the New York Times reported.
“If McCain tried Bush’s strategy of just mobilizing the base, he would almost certainly fall short,†John C. Green, a senior fellow at the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, told the Times. “Because the Republican brand name is less popular and the conservative base is restive, McCain has special needs to reach out to independent and moderate voters, but, of course, he can’t completely neglect the evangelical and conservative base.â€
So how is he doing with the conservative base? Not so well, particularly after he denounced pastors John Hagee and Rod Parsley.
“For John McCain to be competitive, he has to connect with the base to the point that they’re intense enough that they’re contagious,†said Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council. “Right now they’re not even coughing.â€

It doesn’t matter if he appeals to the evangelicals or not…the majority of Americans are fed up with the right and it’s pro war, f**k the rest of world attitude. It’s time for a new outlook on the problems and a fresh approach to the solutions. I predict Obama will beat McCain in a landslide.
I saw a great bumper sticker last night:
McCain/Satan — 2008
I can’t believe conservatives don’t realize the dangerous liberal demagogue running for the Democrat Party. If conservatives don’t get off their butts and vote for John McCain, we will be left with a radical left-wing president who will raise our taxes through the roof, tax oil companies so gas reaches $5 a gallon, and try to impose socialized medicine and other New Deal-esque programs on our country WHICH ARE DOOMED TO FAIL. Wake up, people. It’s time conservatives stop whining and vote for McCain. If you want Barack HUSSEIN Obama as your next president, then you are truly stupid.
As for you, Mary Caruso, why do you worship Obama so blindly? Why do you love this man who stands for NOTHING except failed liberal policies? You must like astronomical taxes, unlimited abortion, and the welfare state.
It looks like the John Sidney McCain the Third (for Shrub’s 3rd term) campaign isn’t monitoring comments on their web page that sells golf gear.
Yeah, golf gear!

You listen to too much conservative talk radio, ICT. I’m always amazed at how you cons scream about Democrats and taxes when it was a Republican administration that got us into this worthless and needless war to the tune of 1 billion dollars every 3 days…the TRILLION dollar war that SOMEONE has to pay for and you bitch about social programs funded by taxpayer money?
Obama has the common sense to see that “staying the course” is only taking us down. He has the insight to see that corporations are running the country and squeezing the life blood out of all of us, he has the intelligence to see that we’re in a healthcare crisis and that too many Americans can’t even afford to get sick. He has the insight to see that we have to reconnect with the rest of the world and try to restore our image as an example of Democracy, instead of forcing our will on other cultures by overthrowing their governments, especially when they are no threat to us.
The executive branch of the goevernment has little to do with the abortion issue…we’ve had many pro life presidents since Roe vs Wade, and the last time I checked, abortion on demand is still legal.
What the hell is “radical” about wanting affordable health care for every American, staying out of other government’s affairs when they’re not threatening anyone and they don’t affect our national interest, and establishing an effective foreign policy? It’s LONG overdue for some common sense to be back in the White House.
Talk about failed policies…you don’t have to look any further than one G.W.Bush

“so gas reaches $5 a gallon,”
And the great thing is that Obama will accomplish that THIS summer as just a candidate!
Just like CANDIDATE Bill Clinton was blamed for Ruby Ridge by at least some of the Right-wing radio talking heads.
Speaking of the presidential election brings to mind something very funny I once saw in an old issue of Rolling Stone magazine. I remember it well…..
It was early August of 2004. I had just purchased the 8/19/2004 issue of the music mag and had plopped into my seat at the AMC Creve Coeur theatres in St. Louis. Before reading a certain incendiary article nestled lovingly within its pages, I saw something else: A delightful pic of a man and woman kissing. Fully clothed, so it wasn’t porno fodder. ‘Cause I’m not a porno fan. But the image had a caption, and it went a lil’ something like a-this:
“I’ll let you see Bush if you promise not to vote for him.”
That made me laugh. I know Bushie’s not runnin’ for re-election this time. But McCain and Bushola are virtually one and the same. And I find Bush’s politics obscene – as obscene as that item in Rolling Stone……..
I heard an interesting discussion yesterday evening about attempts by the McCain camp to woo Hillary Clinton supporters. The conclusion was that he would need topick a pro-choice running mate. I wonder if he will do that. And, if he does, what will the Hagee-Parsley wing of the GOP do?
Mary,
ICT is a hit and run poster. He/she/it will never see your reply. People like him/her/it think they can do damage by posting b.s. with nothing to back it up.
I started to say that if Obama could do all the things ICT said he will do, the office of the President would have more power than any other branch of the government. And then I remembered what the current administation has done, and I realized that when Obama steps into the White HOuse, he WILL have a boatload of power, thanks to GWB.
I’ll be giggling over that throughout the day.
When McCain actively sought the endorsements of the likes of Hagee and Parsley, it backfired didn’t it? Wasn’t that about the time Obama’s preacher Jeremiah Wright was in the news with his wacko views? Hagee and Parsley have just as wacked-out views as Wright. And then throw in Pat Robertson and the late Jerry Falwell into the mix and John McCain is not looking very good to the voters sick and tired of the evangelicals trying to run the show.
Besides, if evangelicals were really voting their morals then perhaps they should research into the truth behind John McCain’s first marriage and what happened.
From an article in the London Times:
Bush voiced regret at divisions in the international community created by the war in Iraq, adding: “I think that in retrospect I could have used a different tone, a different rhetoric.”
He admitted that his use of phrases such as “bring them on” and “dead or alive” had “indicated to people that I was, you know, not a man of peace.”
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080611/ts_nm/bush_europe_rhetoric_dc
Ya think? I’d be ROFL, if he wasn’t leaving OUR country in such a mess.
And then we have McCain singing “Bomb, Bomb, Bomb. Bomb Iran.”
Yeah, you Republicans have another real winner there. /sarcasm
McCain’s balancing act.
Against bush’s tax cuts but wants to keep them for himself.
Against torture but votes FOR torture.
For family values for everyone else, not for himself tho, as he is “below” all that sort of stuff.
He’ll take money from wherever he can get it with NO regard for ethics!
All the dust up earlier in the week about refusing to meet with Rev. Graham? First lie that he had refused such meeting, compounded by his campaign officials LYING when they said they were working on such a meeting. NO contacts from anyone according to Rev. Graham spokesperson!
In McCain’s world it’s acceptable to counter one lie with a bigger lie! And proof that within his “organization” the left hand has NO idea what the right hand is doing! Like we need that kind of “organization?”
Ya know. McCain is whatever and whoever the current audience wants him to be. Obama could invite him to co-host a rally and we could watch him turn into a member of the Democratic Party. Would he act the part well enough to be called an eveill libarilll???
This thread illustrates yet another reason I’m glad I’m not a liberal. I couldn’t stand to wake up and be so negative every day. Negativity can shorten your life folks!
McCain is doing what he can to juggle interest groups, just like Obama. The base will come around fine. When the alternative is the most liberal senator in Congress, it won’t be a problem. I notice that McCain is going arranging to meet with evangelist Franklin Graham (Billy’s son)to work on that.
He has an uphill battle, but isn’t it amazing what with all that has gone on that is unfavorable for the Republicans that the Democrats managed to nominate someone who is vulnerable.
Cool.
Mom,
I’m sure the evangelicals can find a Bible passage to exonerate McCain’s treatment of his first wife.
Pre, I think it was Ben who recently pointed out the speeches bush is giving in Europe make him seem like EVEN HE is against bush! Ya suppose he has a brain cell and is realizing that bush guy isn’t someone anyone could admire?
outlander,
Me, negative? I didn’t know laughter was negative.
Do you think Franklin can find the right Bible passage to help him with that ex-wife problem?
Linda,
Did he have a brain cell to begin with? Destroyed by booze and coke, long before he ever considered entering the White House…and the reason the Repubs wanted him in there. A brainless monkey is much easier to control.
It pleases me to see that even Dubya has aged considerably. He looks like hell. tee hee
(see outie? Lots of grins and giggles today.)
outlander, there isn’t anything positive about bush or McCain running for bush’s third term.
Maybe you could enlighten us about the positives you see? All we ever get from Republicans are the negatives about the other side. Best I’ve read is that McCain isn’t Clinton or isn’t Obama or isn’t as bad as someone else…
I’m listening. Without comparing him to someone / anyone, what policy of McCain’s do you support and approve of? What about his character inspires you? What from his Senate voting record tells you what he favors? Got anything about McCain that is a positive?
A friend who has had a divorce tells me Linda that there is no good Bible verse for an ex wife problem.
That is why you should avoid having an ex-wife.

Easter Bunny, I think you need to work on your humor. It seems sort of mean mean and nasty.
Ol’ Shrub isn’t even trying anymore.
I heard a sound bite on the radio this morning with him
lying totelling the Germans, “I have no plans to establish permanent bases in Iraq.”Now wait a minute.
I thought McBush’s rationalization for his hundred-year war in Iraq was the long-term maintenance of U.S. military outposts in Korea, Japan, and… Germany!
Luckily, the Germans have a twisted sense of humor. Otherwise there would have been a laugh track on that sound bite. (No one was hit in the crotch; now that’s German humor!)
Dear Inferior,
Gee, all those things you fear from the democrats are already here as republican programs. True, this administration isn’t taxing to pay for it’s ill-advised war of choice, but it’s borrowing the money to blow that will have to be repaid in inflated tax dollars over the next twenty years.
As far as “socialized medicine” goes, we’ve had it for decades in it’s most expensive form- the ER! The democrats (who aren’t beholden to the HMO’s) want to find a way to have healthcare at a reasonable cost to everyone. It’s the republicans who insisted that the Medicare Drug Program be forbidden to negotiate with the pharmaceutical giants for drugs at the same prices the rest of the world gets. As a result, we’re paying three and four times the cost for prescriptions as any other country, and you want to continue that ripoff?
I’m not so particularly FOR Obama as I am AGAINST a third term for this utter failure of an administration, and that’s what the gop is trying to run with McCane. If Mickey Mouse were opposing him, he’d have my vote!
Is it what McCain’s Senate vote was or what he says as a candidate that we should believe?
Are words now more important than actions? Words spoken when something is desired seem suspect to me when the prior actions have been opposite.
When someone figures out what in the world McCain’s positions are and which one should be believed, would they explain here, please?
Monkey is a real political operative. He can tell lies about John McCain on one hand, while trying to tie him to George Bush with the other. Democrat multi-task.
You are very valuable to your party, sir.
Ok, gotta go before the negativity and cynicism of this black hole suck me in. Later.
But you haven’t led us to the light by telling us about all those positives!
“When someone figures out what in the world McCain’s positions are and which one should be believed, would they explain here, please?”
John WMD McCain has voted with Bush 95% of the time – that pretty much lays out his positions for you – a Bush third term.
Guess we’re gonna need to settle for Rox’s giggles and grins. ;-)
“outlander” babbles –
“Monkey is a real political operative. He can tell lies about John McCain on one hand, while trying to tie him to George Bush with the other. Democrat multi-task.”
I think I speak for most people, “outlander,” when I say, “Huh?”
No, seriously. What in hell are you talking about?

Seems the most negative post I saw here was from Mr. Inferior. Hardly a “liberal”; I think he is one of yours outlander.
An interesting column in the Eagle by Frank Rich regarding the differences between Obama and McCain.
http://www.kansas.com/205/story/430823.html
“Given the dividing line separating the two Americas of 2008, a ticket uniting McCain and Hillary Clinton might actually be a better fit than the Obama-Clinton “dream ticket,” despite their differences on the issues.”
Let that one sink in…………………
A big percentage of people who identify themselves as “conservative” will vote Republican even if Satan himself is on the ticket. They have bought the lies — hook, line and sinker. I have a 90 year old neighbor whose only income is her Social Security check; she’s convinced — no, she’s afraid — that a Democrat — any Democrat –will raise her taxes. (She pays NO taxes.] She’s ashamed of George Bush, but she’d vote for him again. So, there’s McCain’s base — the racists, bigots, warmongers, oil company execs, angry “hard working white people,” and fearful little old ladies. I hope they make up less than 50 percent of the population. Guess we’ll find out.
We often fear what we don’t understand. The Republican Party — the party of fear and lack of understanding (or stupidity!).
Ah, the aged white voters, watching Fox News all day, buying into the scare tactics of the Republican Party.
That pretty much describes my father.
He lives alone in Florida, rarely gets out and mostly sits in his chair in front of the TV.
He rails against “socialism” while collecting SS checks each month. He rails against “socialized medicine” while being on Medicare. The list goes on.
Of course, back in the Sixties, he thought that there should be a law against long hair on men, despite having a traditional Jesus painting on the wall in the living room.
Something here just reminded me of a really good line from one of the old Planet of the pes movies >>>>
What we do not understand, we either worship, or we kill.
Yeah, let’s put more Democrats in power.
I mean look how well the Democratic Congress has done! (cough)
Get ready for a true majority and then step aside or go with the flow of progress! Coming to a Congress near you!
Linda — Check your email!! Later all!!
“I mean look how well the Democratic Congress has done! ”
Look how well the Republics did when they controlled both Houses and the Presidency.
Good article/column…………………….
“Daniel Gross – Bushed – Can the president do more about the economy?”
http://www.newsweek.com/id/140848
It kind of makes you want to scream “We’re screwed.”
WSC – quite a contrast. My father-in-law – a marine who took a bullet in Korea – stays active and involved. He is supporting Obama.
“I mean look how well the Democratic Congress has done! (cough)”
Irregular – AS YOU KNOW – without 60 votes for cloture the Democrats do NOT control the Senate.
“He is supporting Obama.”
Sigh……………. My father’s politics have not changed all that much over the years. Much to his chagrin and disgust, his oldest turned out to be a flaming liberal. I am concerned that he buys into the Fox News scare tactics and the e-mailed BS stories that go around, but he is who he is.
My father thinks Barack Obama is a Muslim that refuses to say the Pledge……………
Only in America.
McCains Problem is social Conservatives at best are lukewarm to him at worst you got James Dobson abstaining from voting. Fiscal Conseveratives your gonna have a certain % jump ship to the Lib. Bob Barr along with the Libertarian Republican voters, people who supported Ron Paul. And of corse is sucking up to guys like Rev. Hagee is going to turn off Moderates and Catholics.
It’s great to see all of the arguing going on in here today.
Apparently I haven’t gotten through to most of you. I’ll try on more time.
There is no difference between Republicans and Democrats in todays politics.
I love the divide and conquer technique that they have used on us Americans. It is very clever.
You all still have a true conservative choice. The only one who is looking out for all Americans, not just a certain group. His name:
Ron Paul
You all have been warned. You can argue amonst eachother whilst the politicians grab more power, or you can come together and take what is rightfully yours back.
Read, “The Revolution: A Manifesto”. Go to Mises.org and learn about true economic freedom.
It breaks my heart to see all of you Americans arguing amonst yourselves. They are doing whatever they want in front of your face, and you don’t even see it.
Take the country back! It is yours, not theirs!

——————-
Well Bent-out-of-shape, since you have relegated to name calling, I’ll call you bent-out-of-shape.
The Democratic Party was thrilled in receiving the majority in which the could control both the House and the Senate.
It appears they have yet another excuse, not having 60 votes in the Senate.
What’s is it going to be next time? Not enough coffee cake in the break room?
They are sent there to represent and lead, not moan and groan.
Paul-bearer “Objectivist” offers –
“The only one who is looking out for all Americans, not just a certain group. His name:
Ron Paul”
Yeah? And where are “all Americans” when it comes to voting?
You guys remind me of the kid who doesn’t make the junior varsity team and counts on NBA superstardom because Michael Jordon was cut from his sophomore team.
Yeah, it could happen, I suppose.
But most people are convinced that Ron Paul, and his adherents are certifiably, dependably, and constitutionally nuts.
Your political philosophies aren’t necessarily crazy but, as with fine cuisine, sometimes it’s all in the presentation. And Libertards don’t get it.
If the only way you can succeed is to have the system change, you won’t change a thing.
Actually, I kinda like some of the Paul-bearers’ policies, but they are totally tone-deaf as to how to get into power to implement those policies.
If Ron Paul is the answer, you’re asking the wrong questions.
Ron Paul’s not going to be the Republican nominee, I doubt they even let him speak at the convention.
“Regular,” of all people, rears up on his hind legs with –
“Well Bent-out-of-shape, since you have relegated to name calling….”
Yeah, “Regular.”
We all know how much you hate name-calling.
Give me a break!
In-fuc#ing-credible!

For every one like your Dad WS, there are 10 who are scared to death by Democrat lies about the Republicans wanting to take away their social security.
Monkeyhawk said:
“Yeah? And where are “all Americans” when it comes to voting?”
It’s called education. We have been taught for three generations that this is the way it is. It is new for some of us, but if you seek the truth, you will come to the same conclusion that I have. I’d say that “All Americans” just don’t know any better. I don’t blame them either. Look at the places who try to teach us. Critical thinking has been thrown out of the door in todays educational system. The media doesn’t help either by suppressing the message of true freedom.
“But most people are convinced that Ron Paul, and his adherents are certifiably, dependably, and constitutionally nuts.”
Who is to thank for this statement? He is not nuts, but you have been told that he is. If you think the media look out for your interest over all others, I think your are sorely misinformed.
“Your political philosophies aren’t necessarily crazy but, as with fine cuisine, sometimes it’s all in the presentation. And Libertards don’t get it.”
How should I present it? I would think that what we currently have is enough to prove our case. “Libertards”? I am sad to see that you look at people in groups. You can label me whatever your told to label me as, but at least I look out for you, and your interest. Thomas Jefferson started the Republican party. His vision is the true heart and soul of the party. I don’t look at people in groups. We are all americans, and human beings for that matter.
“If the only way you can succeed is to have the system change, you won’t change a thing.”
System? If Congress, Senate, and the President followed the law of the land, it wouldn’t matter who was elected for office. They are bound to do only that with is authorized by the Constitution. You may have small differences, but nothing that would impact you like todays “system” has.
Actually, I kinda like some of the Paul-bearers’ policies, but they are totally tone-deaf as to how to get into power to implement those policies.
We are running for the offices all over the country. You are right, going from the top down is wrong. The President doesn’t really have the power. We are gaining Republican committeeman and woman slots all over this country. We are gaining Congress seats as we speak. The message of freedom is popular. We are not stealing these seats or infiltrating. We are outright winning with a truly great message.
If Ron Paul is the answer, you’re asking the wrong questions.
It’s not Ron Paul necessarily, it is his message. He is just the medium for spreading the message. I know that we don’t live in a free country, do you?
What planet did the very subjective “Objectivist” wander in from??
Sounds like a Libertarian Shill to me…
The message of freedom is popular.
The revolution is begun brother.
ICT, perhaps you didn’t realize this, but the New Deal pulled the country from despair. It was one of the most successful changes in policy EVER.
It floors me how much you people ignore and how disasterous your policies you support have been. Bush warned at one time that if we passed democratic policies then we’d have four dollar a gallon gas…and guess what? It DID NOT pass…and we still have over 4$ per gallon gas.
Seriously, are you people just this damn stupid?
“This thread illustrates yet another reason I’m glad I’m not a liberal. I couldn’t stand to wake up and be so negative every day. Negativity can shorten your life folks! ”
We’re FED UP with your disaster! People can’t pay the bills, losing their butts, and soldiers are still dying for a lie while the villian that killed American citizens in the worst attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor runs free. yeah that tends to make people just a tad bit on the p’o'd side.
By the way, the bible is good for excusing poor treatment of women..and others for that matter.
“Given the dividing line separating the two Americas of 2008, a ticket uniting McCain and Hillary Clinton might actually be a better fit than the Obama-Clinton “dream ticket,” despite their differences on the issues.”
If that happened, not even I would vote for Hillary.
Ron Paul would be disasterous for our nation. Libertarianism would send us directly into a 3rd world nation.
Wow. Wesley Clark makes a great point about McSame’s claim to being a “national security expert.” McSame’s got thin resume, pretty much limited to flying an airplane. He’s got no hands-on policy making or executive level experience, other than managing his office.
Clark also says, “McCain’s weakness is that he’s always been for the use of force, force and more force. In my experience, the only time to use force is as a last resort. … When he talks about throwing Russia out of the G8 and makes ditties about bombing Iran, he betrays a disrespect for the office of the presidency.”
To a hammer, everything looks like a nail; to an old Navy pilot, everything looks like it needs to be bombed.
Age aside, the guy is just too Old in his POV and too thin in his experience.
Ron Paul would be disasterous for our nation. Libertarianism would send us directly into a 3rd world nation.
Yeah, freedom, liberty, a well founded monetary system. Yup. Straight to the third world.
BIG f’in eye roll.
Political Mama said:
“Ron Paul would be disasterous for our nation. Libertarianism would send us directly into a 3rd world nation.”
Care to elaborate. I have 100% truth-based facts that state otherwise. How about you start thinking about our future and that of your childrens. The mistakes of the past are going to hurt in the present to fix. They are going to hurt real bad, but if you don’t fix them now, the future will be even worse.
I have to try and come at these things from a different approach with people who speak like you do. You see, people who repeat things from public school textbooks and media pundits still think that there is a difference between Republicans and Democrats. Once you realize that there is no difference, you will see the world from a better perspective.
Read, “The Revolution: A Manifesto” and go to Mises.org for a real economics lesson.
Objectionable,
” I know that we don’t live in a free country, do you?”
Hell, I feel pretty damn free! I can get on this blog and tell you reactionaries where to stuff it, I can go to Argentina if I want and I can walk down any street in town without worrying about having to pack heat. How free do I need to be?
Object,
Yes, please vote for Ron Paul and bring your friends. Balanced budget. No unnecessary foreign entanglements. Reduce giant federal bureaucracies. Citizen involvement. By the way, your hero and mine, Dr. Paul, he earned his own way into med school and into Congress. His Daddy didn’t help him. No kidding. You go, Objectivist. Please share your views with the Koch family and the erstwhile con’s across our great nation.
The cons and religious zealots are going to vote for McCain regardless so he need not worry about them. They are a bunch of loser-in-life nutcases that cling to the bibles and guns and will vote for anybody and anything with an “R” next to it.
Remember when Limbaugh said liberals would become extinct and you’d have to keep a couple around on college campuses just so people could see what they looked like?
Yeah.
Barack Obama, President.
Democratic Senate.
Democratic House.
Wipe out, heheheh.
“there are [old people] who are scared to death by Democrat lies about the Republicans wanting to take away their social security.”
outlander, you people DID want to steal our social security. You want us to have to invest it in the stock market.
Dude, that is no longer social security. That is what we had before we had social security–a lot of people who had lost money in private investments . . .
“outlander, you people DID want to steal our social security. You want us to have to invest it in the stock market.”
If I recall, it was a choice. No “have to” at all.
There is no question about which is the better long term decision. I would be happy if I got my money back now and we would call it even.
It is call “social” security, after all. You people love that.
Why not trust people to save for their own retirement?
You know you people are cheating Black folks with this program?
BDPF . . . a brick wall would see reason before you would.
Not gonna even dignify your bleatings of protest with a response . . .
Remember when Limbaugh said liberals would become extinct and you’d have to keep a couple around on college campuses just so people could see what they looked like?
Yeah.
Barack Obama, President.

You know Capn, that could happen I suppose. But y’all will blow it. You will think that an electoral victory is an endorsement of liberal ideas, instead of folks just being pissed at the Republicans.
Start implementing the socialist crap and it’s all over. In fact, it may be good for America to see far left wackos in action.
But you guys still can manage to again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Nominating Obama was a good first step.
You know, it might be fun to start playing a little offense in the blog too. My life isn’t going to “change” if Obama’s elected.
Sorry to say that to the lib political junkies here, but your life isn’t going to be “changed” by an election either. If you are an unhappy person, you will still be unhappy. If you are lazy and no account, well maybe Obama will throw you a bone somewhere. But you will still be lazy and no account.
But if you are an optimist, you will still be an optimist, and you will go along your happy, productive trail.
Point. Don’t depend on a politician for your happiness.
Peace. Out.
I am sorry for you outlander.
You are extinct and you don’t even know it.
“Socialism” as you call it, is people agreeing to look out for one another.
Your bible called for that didn’t it?
But your “God” is a little loose on the instruction. “He” gives you an out and let’s you blame human suffering on the sufferers.
Your “God” being these last many years absent, well?
Someone has to take that role.
That would be government of by and for the people.
The lord your God is of course free to intervene.
Waiting….
Waiting….
Given government or “God” outlander who is of the next world and not this one?
I choose Government. I am part of Government. I know not your “God”.
Maybe he should run for office or otherwise evidence his presence?
Thanks for the sympathy, JR. You know what? You are wrong about socialism. It will never work here.
But cheers. If we keep getting enough of your brother Democrats infiltrating from the south, you all may be able to vote yourself some nice benefits from the producers.
JR: You have to accept God before he will act on your behalf. You can’t say “screw you God” and expect to have Him on your side. In this case, the egg has to come before the chicken.
But He will meet you more than halfway.
Peace. Out.
Of course socialism will work here Outlander.
It already is working here.
Your God? Not so much. Oh he is good at assigning who to hate. Or rather, he has representatives who tell us who we should hate.
Your “God” should run for office. “He” would lose.
Political Mama, the early portion of the New Deal actually made the Great Depression WORSE. It took WWII and the jobs produced by the war effort to finally end the Depression once and for all. FDR proposed the New Deal just to turn himself into a left-wing demagogue who fooled all of the idiots who voted for him four times.
Does anyone remember the last time a Democrat president served a full term with a Democrat Congress? Remember some guy named Jimmy Carter? Don’t you remember gas lines, 15 percent unemployment, 10 percent inflation, and the Iran hostage crisis. Yes, Democrat control of the government really works well, doesn’t it?
In the two years Clinton was in office and the Democrat Party controlled Congress, we had the largest tax increase in American history foisted upon us, but thankfully, not one Republican voted for it.
If you want $6 gas, unlimited abortion, gay marriage, cut and run in Iraq, and anti-Semitism in the White House, by all means vote for Barack HUSSEIN Obama.
Every time you fill up and you pay more and more for gas, remember the Democrat Party has consistently voted against new drilling. What are we trying to preserve in Alaska besides a bunch of wasteland?
And I was just going to bed.
I look forward to better knowing you ICT.
For now, I’m gonna call you “Itchy”
I know you and yours real well “Itchy”. I listen to your programmers on talk radio every day. You don’t make a single point I have not heard from your masters.
I will know what you are going to say before you say it.
Welcome to the Jungle.
If we had listened to Jimmy Carter and had gotten off the foreign oil in the 70’s, we would not have high gas prices today!
I remember the Iran hostage crisis but I also remember Reagan and Bush giving weapons to Iran through the Iran-Contra affair. By George W. Bush’s logic, wouldn’t both of these men be traitors for giving aid to the enemy?
As for the economy in the Carter years, there was high unemployment rate but I don’t recall middle class working people having to work two jobs to make ends meet.
And what does gay marriage have to do with anything?
“I remember the Iran hostage crisis but I also remember Reagan and Bush giving weapons to Iran through the Iran-Contra affair. By George W. Bush’s logic, wouldn’t both of these men be traitors for giving aid to the enemy?”
Yup, but Bush’s daddy gave them all a pardon. Cheney even continued to do business with Iran when there was an embargo against Iran.
In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his second wife, the Arizona Beer Queen, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point,
BarbieCindy McSame playfully twirled John Sidney the Third (for Shrub’s 3rd term) McCain’s hair and said, “You’re getting a little thin up there.” McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, “At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c*nt.”McCain’s excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.
Balance that.
Here’s a balanced ticket:
McCain/Cheney 2008
The Republic Party has nominated a man who makes Cheney appear youthful. Who better to run Shrub’s 3rd term?
Lauer: If [the Surge is] working, Senator, do you now have a better estimate of when American forces can come home from Iraq?
McCain: No, but that’s not too important.
Four More Years!
Four More Years!
(and 96 more)
Shall the potter be regarded as the clay; that the thing made should say of its maker, ‘He did not make me;’ or the thing formed say of him who formed it, ‘He has no understanding’”? (Isaiah 29:15-16)

This is for JR.
Hey, Monkey.
What did McCain say after that?
Go ahead. We’ll wait.
Couldn’t find it? I don’t believe that. Never mind Monkey. I’ll post it for you:
McCain: “No, but that’s not too important. What’s important is the casualties in Iraq, Americans are in South Korea, Americans are in Japan, American troops are in Germany. That’s all fine. American casualties and the ability to withdraw; we will be able to withdraw. General [David] Petraeus is going to tell us in July when he thinks we are.
“But the key to it is that we don’t want any more Americans in harm’s way. That way, they will be safe, and serve our country and come home with honor and victory, not in defeat, which is what Senator Obama’s proposal would have done. I’m proud of them. And they’re doing a great job. And we are succeeding and it’s fascinating that Senator Obama still doesn’t realize that.”
There Monkey. I’m sure that you feel better now that your lie by omission has been remedied.
