Hispanics moving to Obama

obamahispanicsHispanics are clearly moving toward Barack Obama, according to a new Gallup poll that shows he leads John McCain among Latinos nationwide by a lopsided 62 to 29 percent.

This is a troubling election fundamental for the GOP, which had hoped McCain could make inroads among Hispanics. As columnist Ruben Navarrette Jr. observes, it also dispels the primary punditry theme that Obama has a deep-seated “problem” with Hispanic voters. Not true — they just liked the Clintons more.

Good…looks like people are starting to wake up to the fact that things need to go in a different direction than they are now…that is if we care about surviving.

Clinton was the gavorite of Hispanic voters, but they will naturally gravitate toward the Democratic party.

The Democrats are the champion of the working classes, and a large percentage of Hispanic voters fit that category.

Hispanics know that a McCain presidency will be more of the same “trickle down” economic policies that have failed the middle class since 1980.

This country is ripe for new leadership, and a new direction. Bush has failed miserably.

..and wasnt it ANTI who commented on the “large loophole” that allows nic switching? RFL, boxlicker, etc….

I wish the WE editors had taken ANTI up on his offer to clue them in on the “loophole”.

Heheheheh. And for you racist bass turds out there, I see the Hispanic community is smarter than the majority of Kansans. The Hispanics have learned, after going gop for a while, that it is NOT good to vote against your own self interest.

Kansas voters have learned that lesson not so much…

I have no doubt that someone determined to set himself up with a host of sock-puppets could still do so, ANTI.

The registration process slows things down to the point that it’s time-consuming, however.

Kinda takes the fun out of it for those few who find disruption fun.

There’s no question that the number of hit-and-run posters and sock-puppets has fallen way off since registration, as predicted.

    And that’s a good thing.

I wish middle America would wake up and realize that Democrat policies are more aligned to benefit them. Republican policies aid large corporations, outsource jobs, give tax breaks to the upper class, and yet, Kansans (and many other “red-staters”) are duped into voting for them election after election.

Agreed, And who is accusing whom of “nic-switching”?

Answer: Immature Liberals who can not argue the issues posted by those with whom they disagree. Therefore, they libel the poster with baseless accusations. (Prime Example: KFG)

Personally, I couldn’t care less who is nic switching or who isn’t. But of course I argue for and against ideas and have little interest in succumbing to the 3rd grade level of accusing other posters of nic switching. If your idea or position stinks, posting it 10 times by a different nic won’t make it smell any sweeter.

Unless of course you are a brainless liberal who determines the viability of a position by the number of posters who post in agreement.

In contrast, those who argue an opinion using completely defensible logic and reason need not have a mob of posters to agree with him/her. Therefore, such a poster need not accuse opposing posters of nic switching since logic and reason is ultimately more tenable then fickle mob influence.

Maybe KFG and other like minded insecure liberal accusers, will eventually grow up and obtain this level of confidence in their own ill-thought out positions and cease for accusing other posters of nic switching.

I think it’s possible many Republicans wouldn’t know what to do without their fear.

They aren’t always sure what it is they’re supposed to be afraid of — increased taxes is a big one, and, of course, liberals are very scary (all that diversity, those choices, that thinking and taking responsibility). Then there are gays and people of “color,” and terrorists! Oh, and differing religious beliefs, although it’s never real clear what is an acceptable religious belief since they don’t want to alienate any “believer.”

Luckily there is always someone to tell them what the latest fear is and make up the wild stories and lies they buy into so easily. While they tremble in fear they are violated by the very people who direct their fears and tell them they are the protectors.

But hey, it has worked. It doesn’t work as well as it once did.

bush has been the best ambassador the Democratic Party could ever have! His corruption, his war, his economic policies, his expansion of BIG government and BIG business, his arrogance, and his lack of respect for the Constitution of the United States of America have allowed some to break free of the indoctrination into reality.

Some are even seeing that The Grand Ole Party was taken over and isn’t grand any longer.

Hey, if personal attacks are your MO – go for it!

Attack me! I’m a big girl (actually much bigger than I wish but that’s another story…).

Your post said you, “argue for and against ideas and have little interest in succumbing to the 3rd grade level of accusing other posters of nic switching. If your idea or position stinks, posting it 10 times by a different nic won’t make it smell any sweeter.”

You proceeded to use most of your words to libel posters. I’ll give you that you didn’t accuse them of switching nics, just libel them in other ways. All in the details, I guess. Some attempts to libel are OK, others not so much.

Evidently we share the ability to see in others what we are better to ignore in ourselves. We must both be human and we must both have an opinion. Imagine that!

    Linda,

I showed how the reflex of accusing other posters of nic switching is immature since it diverts attention away from discussing the issues (which should be the only reason level headed adults choose to participate in a discussion on politics, religion, ethics, science and culture).

Since the accusers would naturally rather accuse other posters of nic-switching instead of effectively refuting the opinions that those so called nic switchers are posting, they reveal an intrinsic insecurity in their own opinion on issues.

I libeled no one since I provided the logical basis for my accusation.

It is already pretty late with 4000+ US servicemen dead in Iraq, an economy that is tanking, and huge federal deficits.

The government is spying on us under the cover of Patriot Act.

How can someone stand themselves after writing lies, like Obama stands for an “unlimited open border?”

IF this is a case of self-deception rather than lying, it is even worse. A liar knows he is violating the truth. The self deceived don’t even know what the truth is….

The Hispanics are probably afraid of the evangelicals getting back into power. After all, it is the evangelicals who are so fiercely against the illegals and John McCain has been pandering to the evangelicals to get their vote.

My viewpoint about the illegal immigration is that we already have the illegals here, give them amnesty, put them on the taxpayer rolls and make it a level playing field for all workers.

But I suspect that big business is against that idea. I would be willing to bet that if current illegals were given amnesty and became real taxpayers, their jobs would soon dry up due to big business finding yet another group of ‘illegals’ to exploit for their cheap labor.

The illegal problem is not so much just about Hispanics but the insatiable appetite of big business for cheap labor.
