Glickman thinks Tiahrt is doing fine

Dan Glickman, former 4th District congressman and current chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America, is supporting state Sen. Donald Betts’ campaign to unseat Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Goddard. But Glickman apparently doesn’t think too badly of Tiahrt, who defeated Glickman 14 years ago. In an interview on the Politico Web site, Glickman was asked how he thought Tiahrt was doing. “I think he’s doing fine,” Glickman said. “I suppose I like him better than my wife or kids do.”

Betts is a Traiter, he voted for Illegals when the bill was being worked on!

In my limited interactions with the Kansas members of the house and senate. Of all of them Tiahrt has been the most willing to interact with the population of his district. He is also the most given to giving platitudes.

Betts, a nice man, but a straight line Democratic Party ideologist. No ‘change’ in that man or his voting record.

I don’t think Glickman votes in Kansas any longer, does he?

I do vote in Kansas. My opinion has more clout than Glickmans.

I don’t think Tiahrt is doing fine.

That’s rather interesting that Glickman would say that. After all, he’s contributed a substantial sum to Betts’ campaign. From the FEC’s website:

    GLICKMAN, DANIEL R. WASHINGTON
    DC 20016 03/21/2008 1000.00 MOTION PICTURE ASSOC OF AM/CEO 28990827107

Glickman should be ashamed for supporting Betts out one side of his mouth while supporting Tiahrt out the other.

    “Betts is a Traiter”

Traiter, from the French, to treat. So Betts is a treater. Yes, Betts will treat us to a better future if he is elected and retires Tiahrt. I couldn’t agree more.

    Dittos to LindainKS.

Where does Glickman live these days, Hollywood?

After the campaign that Tiahrt ran against Glickman, one would think that alone would be enough to make him detest Tiahrt.

Some democrats are just “too nice.” Kerry, for one . . .

    Thanks, MP.

Whatever happened to “freedom” fries anyway?

85 percent of English language words are derived from French roots. Doesn’t stop the ignorant xenophobes (i.e., CONs) from wanting to ban all-things-French from our culture.

The Republican who came up with the “freedom fries” nonsense apologized. He is now opposed to the illegal occupation of Iraq and sides with the majority of Americans.

Tiahrt is a good man, a great leader, and a wonderful Congressman.

Todd kinda sold out Boeing when he voted with McCain to allow foreign biddersfor the tanker deal. Burned out, sold out. Same Old. Same Old. Time for a change. (Even his hair is Old School.)

Glickman is a damn lobbyist. He has to say nice things about incumbent Congressmen. I’m sure that Todd & Dan are best buds now.

Tiarht a good man, okay I’ll buy that.

A great leader? No, I’ll have to pass on that one. A great leader does not run over everyone that disagrees with him like Tiarht has. A great leader knows how to compromise to govern.

A wonderful congressman? Again, I’ll have to vote no on that one as well. A wonderful congressman knows there are all kinds of constituents, not just those that will kiss your feet.

The headline “Glickman Thinks Tiahrt is Doing Fine” is unfortunate in that it implies that I support him for re-election. While I try not to say anything publicly negative about current political figures, I certainly did not mean to imply that I support Todd for re-election. I strongly support Donald Betts in his effort to become the Fourth District Congressman, and have in fact campaigned with him in the past and expect to do so in the future again.
