Belated bye-kus for candidates

paulronThe Wall Street Journal’s James Taranto has sent off each presidential candidate with a haiku. Here are two long-awaited ones:

“She was sure to win
“Then sure to lose: either way
“Inevitable” (Hillary Clinton)

“He kept his promise
“And announced he had pulled out
“Though not of Iraq” (Ron Paul)

    Good-bye, my country
Killed by gangsters who “know best”
    From the Left and Right.

Hillary, dodged the bullets in Bosnia,
But couldn’t dodge the Robert Kennedy ricochet.
Perhaps it was the stain on the dress or
the idea that she couldn’t wash the skin of Obama to a lighter color.

Ron Paul, a modern Texas Ranger,
Who tried to use traditional common sense,
Found himself saying farewell to both.

Ron Paul reminded us what the party should have been and how this country should face the problems in the world. He is the first candidate in as long as I can remember that I am enthused about. So we ended up with John McCain? A made over Neoconservative whom in order to get the nomination has forgotten all that is means to be a Republican and a American.
