Top officials also complained about torture

aschcroftIt wasn’t only FBI agents who complained about interrogation techniques used on detainees. According to a Justice Department report released this week, so did former Attorney General John Ashcroft (in photo), FBI Director Robert Mueller and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, then assistant attorney general in charge of the criminal division. One of their concerns was that the abuse could taint any legal proceedings against the detainees. And that has happened. A top Pentagon official recently chose to drop charges against a detainee who was roughly interrogated at Guantanamo, the Washington Post reported.

Well thank God there are even Bush Cronies who know right from wrong. Sadly, they didn’t speak out earlier when it was unpopular. That would have been the brave and noble thing to do.

I think many knew speaking out could be life threatening. This administration is not just corrupt but evil. I put absolutely nothing out of the bounds of possibilities as they have proven they have no regard for laws or human life. bushco isn’t your run of the mill politicians, they are insane!

The American Judicial system used to be notorious for not finding guilt when a confession was forced, but that was in the pre-bush days.

Those responsible may still be held accountable, and McCain is running for president — that makes this story timely.

    Investigations are ongoing.

McCain’s stated position has been on both sides of torture. Which is it? Can’t there be ONE topic where his deep-seated conviction is the same no matter who he is speaking to?

I still have hope the full truth can be exposed, and it is important enough that it can’t be forgotten or brushed under the carpet.

Notice bush croies weren’t stating concern for the immorality of the actions, only the legal repercussions.
