Politics-free best wishes for Kennedy

kennedyWhat a relief that partisanship has been set aside on Capitol Hill regarding Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., and his diagnosis of a cancerous brain tumor. When the news of Kennedy’s condition came via BlackBerry to lunching GOP lawmakers Tuesday, Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., led his colleagues in a prayer for the liberal lion so many Republicans have reviled for so long. “I prayed for grace and peace for Sen. Kennedy and his family,” Brownback told an aide. “I prayed for healing.” Brownback was a natural choice, given that he and Kennedy have collaborated on issues such as illegal immigration and Down syndrome.

I disagree with Senator Kennedy on a great many things… but I have always respected his passion for his party’s politics and the fervor with which he has always pursued it. My family’s prayers are with he and his family as well.

I’m so glad to see a thread on Kennedy.

This man, like him or hate him, has dedicated his entire life to public service. His illness now signals just one more challenge in a life full of challenges and tragedy.

His family has suffered the loss of many of their brightest and finest and their loss is America’s loss.

Edward Kennedy and his family need our prayers and support in this time of trial.

    Thank you for the thread.

I am a capitalist, to the core.
However, this is not the thread for such stuff as you posted.
I watched a brother die from a brain tumor.
    It is awful.
I pray that the Senator makes peace with God, vanquishes any demons that still trouble him, and lives long enough to see the hearts of those of us who have challenged him, all these years.
I, for one, wish him no pain, and a speedy recovery.
