The real problem with congressional ethics today is that according to the religious right, immorality is only about sex, and anything else goes! Considering how many of our congressmen couldn't get it up with a bottle of Viagra, most compensate by acting morally upright while looting the public trust without a qualm, scruple or care.

Come on no republicon can deny that the cons have been FAR more involved in scandals lately. And lo and behold they all get a pass. Remember when they were all acting as if they were the party of responsibility and morality. HA. They're the worst offenders and then they defend it.

By the way, Judicial Watch is a group of anti-dems. So whatever. I know the republicans like to create all these non biased sounding groups, but that's all they are are big fat propaganda machines.

You question the family values of a man with two (count 'em, two) families? Can you do better?

"How does the latest having a mistress and a baby out of wedlock effect his duties as a Congressman?"

If they say they are a person who has "family values" and vote to tell me what or what I can not do in the privacy of my bedroom, then they have no business being in Washington. Republicans are hypocrites.

List of Democraps taking Abramoff money.

=========================
It's been reported over and over that "no Democrat" took money "directly" from Abramoff. The Republicans that were convicted in the Abramoff scandal took bribed directly from him.

It's kind of like mccain running on ethics reform, republicans have held themselves as the party of values, why wouldn't they be called on it?

Point is: Both parties have their respective closets to hide in, and congress has done little, if anything, to investigate or correct the problem. That would take real Americans doing what should be done, and from what I read, there are few, if any, left in Washington. Just a capital full of bloviated, senile old hacks looking for a lifetime retirement check, dem and rep.

http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/scandal-rocks-ohio-attorney-general-s-office

—————

Marc Dann, the Ohio AG in the above article is a Democrat.

Paul Morrison, the former Kansas AG also entangled in harassment charges as a result of an affair with a subordinate, is a Democrat.

Elliott Spitzer, the New York governor and former New York AG who was frequenting call girls while prosecuting similar illegal prostitution rings, is also a Democrat.

The fact is that when people are given power, some are not going to be able to handle it properly. Doesn’t matter what party, race etc… One is just as susceptible as another. Where there are people involved, there will be moral failures.

Yeah Crapn, diverting billions of dollars to a personal fortune for personal gain and supporting terrorists organizations is much less important than a misdemeanor charge in Idaho.

What Democratic Names?

Oh, let's see...

Let's start with Senator Feinstein who was asked to step down from committee after showing her Husband's company preferential treatment in getting multi-billion Department of Defense contracts.

Or the Congressman, William Jefferson and the freezer money...

Let's see, Congressman Joseph A. "Joe" Sestak, Jr, who was found supporting, attending campaign fund raisers of an agency, CAIR, that has known terrorist ties and is an apologists for terrorist's attacks.

the list goes on...

outlander, there are certain words (including the name of the state our current president hails form) which trigger that "awaiting moderation." No rhyme or reason to it and you're right that they never are moderated.

We elect some hum-dingers, don't we!?

Does running for public office draw the dregs or do we manage to choose the worst?

Maybe it's what happens to an average person once they get into office and part of the system?

It would be interesting to see if the incidence of UNlawfullness and IMmorality is higher among elected officials than the general public.

I wonder why posts that are "awaiting moderation" are never reviewed? I can't figure out why they are flagged. I've even removed all links and still get flagged.

Is it the Eagle or the blog operator that is responsible? EDITORS?

Rep. William Jefferson, D-La.,

And I guess the "D -La" is a typo?
Poor Ronda, the left see you as the Eagle's right-wing verse of a Kansas Rush L. And the right see you as Move-on-dot. org's local reporter. Messenger, lay your head on the block!

Washington D.C. has become that joke about the Dallas Cowboys. The team had to stop the practice of the huddle. Most of the team being on Probation and not allow to associate with other Felons. The question whether their actions effects their duties as elected officials is the deciding factor.
How does the latest having a mistress and a baby out of wedlock effect his duties as a Congressman?

What Democratic names, ReguLiar?

Actually, the story was too kind. The guy didn't just father a child--he had two families.

It was polygamy.

He believed in "family values" so much, he decided to have two families at the same time . . .
