Kansas claimed sixth place on an unenviable top 10 list this week: drunken driving. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 21.1 percent of Kansas drivers 18 and older said they’d been impaired by liquor at least once in the previous year while driving. That compares with the national average of 15.1 percent. Among Kansas’ neighbors, only Nebraska scored worse, with 22.9 percent. A Kansas Department of Transportation spokesman suggested to the Topeka Capital-Journal that the state’s alcohol numbers are improving, but leaders should seek other ways to drive down this dangerous number.

If you drink and drive, you are a sub-human moron. You endanger others, as well as yourself. If caught, you should have access to all vehicles denied, license pulled and spend time in jail. If caught again, it should be treated a a felony. Just plain freakin’ stupid to drink and drive.
You know what’s really glaring? Most, if not all, of the states listed with the highest amount of drunk drivers are red states. Maybe the ‘publicans need that shot or six to get through the day after listening to their own BS:-0
J maybe there should be a study to determine if those drunk Drivers in the Red states are not “bitter” Democrats? But my guess would be it is evenly divided between lower middle class Republicans and Bitter Democrats!
. . . or they’re just plain rednecks:-)
They need to set up more sobriety checks every where , including and if not importantly near established areas that server liquor.
Lost a whole family of good friends to a drunk driver. I have no pity for drunks, they cause misery around them.
How about the DP for drunk drivers who kill
Hmm
Seems all of the posters so far might benefit from a good drink.
Lighten up people.
One night a guy in jail for DUI complained to me that there was one cop whom was out for him. “This cop knows where I drink and where I live. The cop drives by and see my car at the bar, then waits about four blocks from my house. On the street he knows I always drive down to get home, then bust me! F&&King Pig!” I thought about it then asked, “has it ever occurred to you to take a different way home?”. He slapped his forehead and said “Man I feel stupid!” I smiled and said “well go with the feeling!”. DUI are easy to catch, they do not think they are criminals and are not very bright.
