Sebelius picks Tiger over turkeys

turkeyGov. Kathleen Sebelius will miss the 22nd annual Governor’s One-Shot Turkey Hunt next weekend in El Dorado, sending Attorney General Stephen Six in her place. “Good God, every opportunity she gets to leave Kansas, she takes. This is starting to get ridiculous,” responded Christian Morgan, executive director of the Kansas Republican Party. Never mind that it’s the first hunt she’s missed since taking office, and that many a Kansas Republican would like to be in the Democrat’s shoes that weekend — watching Tiger Woods and the rest of the best of the best at the Masters golf tournament in Georgia.

There are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize Sebelius. This isn’t one of them.

driving along a bend in the old smokey the other day I saw like 40 acres of turkeys. There were hundreds of them. Kansas is becoming a turkey horror story. They’re everywhere.

Christian Morgan is just jealous. Masters tickets are almost impossible to get without good connections.

It’s not a real tough choice. 22nd annual Governor’s One-Shot Turkey Hunt or The Masters, golf’s premier event…

    It’s on my “bucket list”.

    No, not the turkey hunt.

I give up, what’s a one-shot turkey hunt? YOu do a Barney Phife on the legislature of your choice? Never heard of it before, but then again, I oppose hunting on principal. Principally because I generally have the 99 cents for a McBurger.

BTW, I’m not sure it’s such a good idea the republicans pointing out the amount of time our elected officials are out of state.

I know, that’s why they call this a red state.

Well, reg, To watch Tiger is to watch a legend in his own time. Unless something terrible happens, he will break Jack’s majors record by a bunch. What he does both on and off the golf course is truly amazing. He is the real deal, and someone people can look up to. Not bad for someone who plays golf, what?

Did Christian Morgan make any negative comments about our Republican Senators, Brownback and Roberts, too?

You mean she’s NOT going to the Dinah Shore Classic?

    Color me surprised…

Maybe her sudden aversion to hunting has something to do with her national political ambitions?

Wouldnt want to piss off that part of obama’s constituents, eh?

There are some things worth getting excited about. This isn’t one of them. Making this an issue shows shallowness and silliness.

It is nice to see a Women attend an event at a club that will not allow women to be members.

Why isn’t she standing up for women rights?

The turkey hunt is no big deal because they set up a tent for her and then run the turkeys by for her to take five shots at. That is not what I call a hunt. More like a setup.

You do wonder though why the Governor is spending so much time flying out of Kansas. Not to mention the CO2 she is creating with the state plane.
