    Political_mama,

    1. The physiology of the human body is ample evidence against why homosexual and/or lesbian same sex relationships are normal.

    2. More evidence is that homosexual and/or lesbian same sex relationships are unable to procreate unto themselves.

    3. This is quite evident in science.

How do you reply to this?

Note: I respect every individual and the life that they hold.

Isn’t it great how the new Environmental Protection Bill is moving American automakers to produce green cars?

Chevy proudly announces the release of their new full size hybrid SUV. This environmentally designed SUV “only” weighs 5,600 pounds and will “only” put you back $52,000.. And BEST of all, it will provide the owner with a sound 21 mpg city and 22 mpg highway!

    Isn’t this wonderful!!!

This technologically superior vehicle, designed with the latest in energy efficiency, barely meets the CAFE standard for new cars of 22 mpg - based upon the 1985 fuel economy standards.

It took 23 years, but we are moving now!

And this isn’t even the FUN part yet. Under the 2007 new federal regulations - which our new “green” thinking Congress, automakers have until 2020 to meet a “fleet-wide” average of a (hold your breath) 35 MPG!!! Yip-yippeee~!

Meaning, like Chevy reflects today - maybe after another 23 years - year 2043, they will announce an SUV which meets THE NEW HIGHER STANDARD!!

And with people keeping their cars longer, we will enjoy MILIONS of vehicles clogging our roads with less than 35 MPG for decades to come.

Of course our policitians will pat themselves on the back for being green, speeches will be made in their honor, and all of them will be out of office and retired without having changed a damn thing.

Pretty sad if you ask me. Today, in 2008 I am driving a 2003 hybrid from overseas which gets 44 mpg.

Let’s all gather together and give thanks for the BIG THREE US Automakers and our great green federal government. NOT.

Please don’t ask me to cry when the Ford’s and GM’s close down. Despite the loss of high paying union jobs - it may be the best thing to happen for our environment.

Is this a flat out lie, or is Hillary delusional?

“In December 2007, Hillary Clinton spoke about her 1996 trip to Bosnia and said that, “we landed in one of those corkscrew landings and ran out because they said there might be sniper fire.”

“On March 17, Clinton described the same trip but said that she now remembers “landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.””

She either lied or is delusional.

Either way, we don’t want her answering the phone at 3 AM.. At least, not from the white house.

“Bill and Chelsea Clinton have been touting Hillary Clinton’s commitment to Africa on the campaign trail by telling voters that “Hillary was the first U.S. Senator to call Darfur genocide.”

Chelsea talked about her mother’s record on Darfur to Stanford University students, saying that she was “really proud that…mom was the first Democratic senator to call Darfur conflict genocide in May of 2004, and put a lot of pressure on the Bush administration to recognize it as genocide.”

As it turned out, the first senators who actually called Darfur genocide were Russ Feingold, D-Wisconsin, Mike DeWine, R-Ohio, and Sam Brownback, R-Kansas.

Hillary Clinton’s first press statement referring to Darfur as “genocide” wasn’t until March 16, 2006.

Some will say Hillary did not lieabout Darfur, it was Bill and Chelsea. Yes, but this was a part of her campaign strategy and she never distanced herself from their false statements.”

And speaking of being green. I read an editoral where both Hillary and Obama propose an 80 percent reduction of carbon emmissions by the the year 2050.
Of course, green voters will applaud our great green politicians. But both will be out of office or dead by 2050.

    Hey cosmo,

    Check this out from Snopes:

This is in regards to Al Gore’s mansion. Care to reply?:

    http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/house.asp

    Glass Houses

    Claim: E-mail compares George W. Bush’s eco-friendly ranch with Al Gore’s energy-expending mansion.

    Status: True.

    Example: [Collected via e-mail, 2007]

LOOK OVER THE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE FOLLOWING TWO HOUSES AND SEE IF YOU CAN TELL WHICH BELONGS TO AN ENVIRONMENTALIST.

    HOUSE # 1:

A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400.00 per month. In natural gas alone (which last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not in a northern or Midwestern “snow belt,” either. It’s in the South.

    HOUSE # 2:

Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university, this house incorporates every “green” feature current home construction can provide. The house contains only 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on arid high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in winter and cools it in summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas, and it consumes 25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers and shrubs native to the area blend the property into the surrounding rural landscape.

HOUSE # 1 (20 room energy guzzling mansion) is outside of Nashville, Tennessee. It is the abode of that renowned environmentalist (and filmmaker) Al Gore.

HOUSE # 2 (model eco-friendly house) is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas. Also known as “the Texas White House,” it is the private residence of the President of the United States, George W. Bush.

So whose house is gentler on the environment? Yet another story you WON’T hear on CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC or read about in the New York Times or the Washington Post. Indeed, for Mr. Gore, it’s truly “an inconvenient truth.”

Origins: This e-mail comparison between the homes of President George W. Bush and former vice-president Al Gore began circulating on the Internet in March 2007 (shortly after the latter’s film on the global warming issue, An Inconvenient Truth, won an Academy Award as Best Documentary). Short and sweet, there’s a fair bit of truth to the e-mail: Al Gore’s Nashville mansion is something of the energy-gobbler the e-mail depicts, while President Bush’s Crawford ranch is more the model of responsible resource use the juxtaposition portrays it to
    be.

According to the Associated Press, the Gore’s 10,000 square foot Belle Meade residence consumes electricity at a rate of about 12 times the average for a typical house in Nashville (191,000 kwh versus 15,600 kwh). While there are mitigating factors (further discussed in our article about the Gore household’s energy use), this is still a surprising number, given that the residence is approximately four times the size of the average new American home.

The Prairie Chapel Ranch ranch home owned by George W. Bush in Crawford, Texas, was designed by Austin architect David Heymann, an associate dean for undergraduate programs at the University of Texas School of Architecture. As the Chicago Tribune described the house in a 2001 article:
The 4,000-square-foot house is a model of environmental rectitude.

Geothermal heat pumps located in a central closet circulate water through pipes buried 300 feet deep in the ground where the temperature is a constant 67 degrees; the water heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. Systems such as the one in this “eco-friendly” dwelling use about 25% of the electricity that traditional heating and cooling systems utilize.

A 25,000-gallon underground cistern collects rainwater gathered from roof runs; wastewater from sinks, toilets and showers goes into underground purifying tanks and is also funneled into the cistern. The water from the cistern is used to irrigate the landscaping surrounding the four-bedroom home. Plants and flowers native to the high prairie area blend the structure into the surrounding ecosystem.
Other news articles published in 2001-02 provided expanded descriptions of the ranch house:
“By marketplace standards, the house is startlingly small,” says David Heymann, the architect of the 4,000-square-foot home.

Constructed from a local limestone, the house has eight rooms in a long, narrow design to take advantage of views and breezes. A porch stretches across the back and both ends of the house, widening at one end into a covered patio off the living room.

The tin roof of the house extends beyond the porch. When it rains, it’s possible to sit on the patio and watch the water pour down without getting wet. Under a gravel border around the house, a concrete gutter channels the water into a 25,000-gallon cistern for irrigation. In hot weather, a terrace directly above the cistern is a little cooler than the surrounding area.

Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into purifying tanks underground — one tank for water from showers and bathroom sinks, which is so-called “gray water,” and one tank for “black water” from the kitchen sink and toilets. The purified water is funneled to the cistern with the rainwater. It is used to irrigate flower gardens, newly planted trees and a larger flower and herb garden behind the two-bedroom guesthouse. Water for the house comes from a well.

The Bushes installed a geothermal heating and cooling system, which uses about 25% of the electricity that traditional heating and air-conditioning systems consume. Several holes were drilled 300 feet deep, where the temperature is a constant 67 degrees. Pipes connected to a heat pump inside the house circulate water into the ground, then back up and through the house, heating it in winter and cooling it in summer. The water for the outdoor pool is heated with the same system, which proved so efficient that initial plans to install solar energy panels were cancelled.

The features are environment-friendly, but the reason for them was practical — to save money and to save water, which is scarce in this dry, hot part of Texas.
(NOTE: The floor plans shown at the web site westernwhitehouse.org are not accurate reproductions of the size and layout Bush’s Prairie Chapel Ranch house. They are elements of a parody.)

Well, I never thought I would live to see it.

    But it’s happened.

I just purchased the current issue of People magazine (with Heath Ledger on the cover), and it’s evidently official: A man is pregnant and will soon be giving birth. Yes, someone’s knocked up who, well, doesn’t have knockers.

At least, he no longer has knockers.

This man evidently used to be a she, but now she’s a he, and he wants to get in touch with his, um, feminine side (and his lingering uterus) and have a child.

Now, I’ve never been one of those femmes who “wants men to feel my pain.” I don’t want men to undergo pregnancy and childbirth. It’s obvious (and for obvious reasons) that women were designed to give birth. We’re sensitive; we’re empathetic; we’re caring; we call if we say we’re going to call; we remember to put the cap back on the toothpaste. I wouldn’t wish labor pains on both parents - if both are devastated, they cannot help one another. So they both lose. My main complaints are rape and sadism - not the fact that women get pregnant.

We’re not better than men - we’re just different.

And I gotta attest - seein’ someone with a moustache and a-muscles and a-pregnant stomach hasn’t really sunk in yet.

And here’s something else to ponder if you’ve got the Wichita Flu of ‘08 and you’re trying to bring something up and can’t…..

How will this newly-male nurturer handle childbirth? I’ve heard quite often that men can’t handle physical pain as well as women do. I never paid much mind to this, since my pain threshhold is somewhere below comprehension. However……..

While hospitalized in the E.R. in August 2006, I hadn’t been supine for more than 10 minutes before I heard sounds. Terrible sounds. Wailing sounds. Mournful sounds. Tortured sounds. Non-joyous sounds.

There was someone in severe pain in the room next to mine - and it wasn’t someone with a joy trail.

My normally empathetic nature was somewhat compromised that night. That and the fact that some idiot in my apartment building had mistaken me for the long-haired transgender who lived one floor above me - and I had to assure the nice doctor I wasn’t a he. And had never been a he. (”You sure don’t look like a man,” the nice doctor gravely intoned. That was probably the high point of my hospital stay.)

I asked the nurse several times to “give that poor man something.” Several times, she waved me off. I tried to be stoic. I tried to be spiritual. I tried to tend my own garden and rise above this man’s sufferings. But the moans of Gethsemane continued. Loudly.

Finally, I couldn’t take it any more. “For Chrissakes, this is 2006 - not 1906!” I bellowed. Give this poor man some Vicodin or morphine or SOMETHING! He’s in PAIN!” The look I got from the nurse was indefinable - but it probably belonged on Mount Rushmore. Then I had the temerity to ask what they were doing to him to induce such travail.

“They’re just trying to take his blood,” she deadpanned.

Nothing more probably needs to be said at this point.

    American:

I understand your concern here. My own feelings are certainly more complicated than they were a decade ago. Gender confusion - and the mental anguish which accompanies it - is a very painful and unfortunate condition.

And there are documented cases of humans being born with sex organs of both genders. In cases like these (they are rare, granted - but they do occur), what is a person to do? I’ve never experienced this excruciating dilemma - but I do know that life can be excruciating enough without gender confusion.

In summation - my feelings about this case are uneasy. Is this person now a man - after having been born a woman but confused all his/her life? Technological/surgical advances have allowed her to become a man.

Is this current situation somewhat troubling to me? It is. But I purport no moral authority, nor any desire to poke my nose into anyone’s personal life. But People magazine made it our business, so my complicated perceptions are a reality.

    American:

Please - let us be respectful of those rare, but tragic, cases which do occur. Hermaphrodism has occurred throughout the ages. I am unsure as to the genetic(?) causes of this, but I have seen televised documentaries which prove evidence of both genders’ sex organs on a single individual.

Can one only imagine the anguish this inflicts?

As for People magazine, they are probably more accurate than, say, the National Enquirer. I would certainly not place the Eagle on a par with tabloid trashery.

In this current issue, I saw the pictures with my own eyes: It’s a pregnant man, who evidently retained his/her uterus from his days as a woman. I’m having some difficulty with this - it was disconcerting to see this. I don’t feel hateful or disdainful.

    I am simply uneasy.

People magazine is probably not perfect - nor is the Eagle. But hermaphrodism is very real - and very rare. But the pain it inflicts on the individual afflicted - especially when puberty strikes - should not be discounted.

Al-Udeid, about 20 miles south of Qatar’s capital of Doha, has the military’s (That’s U.S. military) longest runway in the Middle East.

About 3,300 U.S. troops, mostly Army, are stationed at the base.

And at least one USAF troop. My son-in-law. ;) Can’t wait to hear the story on this one!

Clinton Culture of Corruption Campaign Continues!

    http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/politics/blog/2008/04/why_did_billionaire_pay_clinto.html

Why did billionaire pay Clinton $15 million?

The political reporter Thomas Edsall points out an interesting nugget in his column that the Clinton campaign seemed to gloss over when they released eight years of tax returns yesterday.

Bill Clinton received about $15 million in payments from billionaire Ron Burkle since 2002.

The Los Angeles-based mogul has long been tied to the Clintons and has been one of the most prolific fundraisers for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

In a press statement accompanying the release of Clintons’s tax return, the campaign summarized where much of the couples money came from over the last eight years—a Senate salary, presidential pension, book royalties and a whopping sum of $51.9 million in speaking fees earned by President Clinton.

But glaringly missing from the summary was mention of $15 million in fees paid by Burkle’s Yucaipa Global Opportunities Fund since 2002. Forbes magazine listed Burkle as the 91st richest American last year.

The Clintons ties to Burkle have drawn scrutiny for some time. Last fall, the Wall Street Journal reported one of the former president’s aides had helped arrange a partnership between Burkle and young Italian businessman named Raffaello Follieri.

That partnership later fell apart and Burkle sued Follieri of misusing funds to keep up a lavish lifestyle of fancy meals and rides on jets for him and his girlfriend, actress Anne Hathaway.

Clinton Culture of Corruption Campaign Continues!

Colombian Government Terminates Contract With Clinton Adviser’s Firm
    by FOXNews.com
    Saturday, April 5, 2008

The Colombian government has terminated its contract with the lobbying firm of Hillary Clinton strategist Mark Penn after he publicly apologized, under pressure from the rest of the Clinton campaign, for meeting with Colombian officials earlier in the week.

Penn held the meeting to discuss a pending trade deal on behalf of his lobbying and public relations firm, Burson-Marsteller Worldwide — but Clinton aides were infuriated at him since the Democratic candidate is a staunch opponent of the deal. Penn backtracked, releasing a statement Friday calling the meeting “an error in judgment.”

But that response ticked off the Colombian Embassy, prompting the country to sever its contract Saturday.

The embassy statement said: “Mr. Mark Penn, President and CEO of Burson-Marsteller, responded to claims by Union representatives who questioned his relationship with the Colombian Government by declaring that it was an ‘error in judgment’ to meet with his client the Colombian Ambassador on March 31. The Colombian government considers this a lack of respect to Colombians, and finds this response unacceptable.”

The statement said Penn’s firm had been conducting “consulting services” for Colombia since March 2007, working toward the approval of the free trade agreement, but that the contract will be terminated.

The Clinton campaign learned of the meeting when The Wall Street Journal reported on it Friday.

Clinton officials were furious Penn would divert attention from Clinton’s campaign to curry favor with the Colombian government on behalf of the free trade deal. One chief concern was that Penn’s meeting conflicts with Clinton’s statements denouncing Colombia for using violence against union organizers.

The Clinton campaign stressed that Penn’s meeting did not shake its stiff resistance to the trade deal, and Penn later apologized.

The Blind Trust was unblinded on April 27, 2007 and the assets, with the exception of U.S. treasury notes and federal bonds, were sold on May 11, 2007. The tax information in this release is based upon the best estimates of the Clintons’ tax attorney.

Why don’t you just read Hillary’s web site Chas?

I don’t watch CNN. They lie too.

On Hillary’s web site, you can download her 2001 thru 2006 tax returns.

Hillary says on her own web site that she will file an extension for 2007, BECAUSE SHE HASN’T FILED HER 2007 RETURNS YET!

Can you read Chas? Or are you stupid? Or a LIAR?

The buzzword of this election is “CHANGE.”
Candidates toss it around without saying what they
want to change to.Years ago, there was an old tale in the Marine Corps
about a lieutenant who inspected his Marines and told
the “Gunny” that they smelled bad. The lieutenant
suggested that they change their underwear.
The “Gunny” responded, “Aye,aye, sir. I’ll see to it immediately.”
He went into the tent and said, “The lieutenant thinks
you guys smell bad, and he wants you to change your
underwear. Smith, you change with Jones, McCarthy,
you change with Witkowskie, Brown, you change with Schultz ….”
“Change, now get on with it.”
A candidate may promise change in Washington but the stink remains.

Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, or Charlton Heston died tonite.

Interchangeable actors during their heydays in the 50s… they were the poor man’s Victor Mature.

Heston plays Moses and believes that’s his role in life.

It’s kinda funny considering Right Wing icons: John Wayne (draft-dodger), Randolph Scott (Cary Grant’s lover), Chuck Heston (whore)…

Ronald Reagan (not one Jap got past Burbank).
