Lets look at New York real quick. Cops shot an unarmed man 51 times. How many times does this happen? Rarely!!! Does that make it justified?, NO!! July 1st in kansas the General public can have Machine Guns and Sawed Off Shotguns. How often do people shoot eachother? About 300 homicides State wide yearly. KCMO has 100 plus homicides a year. KCKS has about 75. Wichita has about 75 too 100, a year. The current Guns hold up to about 9 to 10 bullets. A machine Gun holds about up to 24. 1 opinion with the ammunition of 4 people. 4 votes in 1 hand. With an extra clip, 4 more opinions. 8 opionions in 1 hand. How many people have to defend themselves from 8 peoples opinions at any given time? If I cannot convince 8 people with my brains and my mouth, should I be allowed to have the “Fire Power” of 8 people to get the last word in? Hell No!!!! The Governors Legislatures are wrong. I wish we had Legislatures that worked for us. We could vote for them and recieve what we, the citizens need. We could call it a Democracy. We could hold elections and have rights and freedoms. We could set boundaries that we all have knowledge of and ways to helps others follow them. A system of peer review and a place where we could feel safe and just in communicating our concerns of the breeches of these boundaries. 1 day I hope to see that “We the People” have a structure that is ours. We seem be forced to follow in the Governors Legislature. They decided that it is now Legal to discuss arguments with the “Fire Power” of 8 people in the hands of 1. The stray bullets will hit us because people argue in all neighborhoods. Babies are shot yearly with stray/miss guided bullets. 1 day we will have peace, until then Governor Sebelius and the Kansas Legislatures have chosen “PIECE”, slang for gun. Please, if you are about to argue with a gun, let me know. I will just get out of the way. I cannot dispute the argument or the way it is conducted. Legislatures in Kansas have secured this right to you by passing Legislation in effect as of July 1st 2008, please just give me the right to move out of the area of the argument. The General public will have to go through the same federal process that most states already allow thier citizens to do.
They will have to apply for a license, pay fees, go through a couple of back ground checks, and be approved by local law enforcement.

What guns are you talking about? Most full size 9mm pistols can hold up to 15 rounds. Most full size .40 and .45 caliber pistols can hold around 13 rounds.
Only when you start getting into sub compact and compact pistols do you get 9 rounds or single stack full size pistols.
Most Assualt Rifles have a 30 round clip size not 24.

Nathaniel??? If Law Enforcement can get their “Service Equipment” thru the “Kansas-Partnership Program”, why do we need Legislation? If the Feds regulate the Lisence for possession of these arms, why do we need Legislation? Basically, what was broke that needed fixxed? Why did the State need this Legislation? And, people do use guns to argue. The also use knifes and nun-chucks. They use cars and ball bats. When is Legislation going to regulate these items? A sword might be nice to use to get a point across. Nun-chucks can be very conclusive when it come to arguing, or using them to finish one. Again, what has stopped the general public from getting these things all along? Common sense, Federal Law, being removed by the Governors Legislatures who want State Tax revenue and fees for these sales and Lisences. If the Federal Guidelines are going to be followed, why does the State have to have its own? How can the State have its own if the Federal Regs are what are followed? Where can the State tell the Feds, how to regulate Federal policies? Cops have earned the right to have these items under intence policy. These gun shows are wrong. The Governor and Legislatures are attempting to allow these show sales of Guns away from policies set by and regulated by Feds. Again, those that are trained to use and posses these items have routes and proper policies. The general public doesnt even deserve the right to apply!!! I am an idiot for trying to stop the supply of guns to people for stupid uses. I am an idiot for trying to stop these guns from getting to people who cannot justify having them. Not every cop can posses these. That is weird. They go thru training and are told no. Not every cop is swat. But, Legislature is allowing the general public to become citizen swat. U.S. Senator Ken Salazar has asked today that the owner of 850 KOA “reprimand” Rush Limbaugh for what Salazar calls Limbaugh’s “clear exhortation” for riots during the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

Katherin Shuffield, 30, a bank teller who was five months pregnant, was critically shot in a robbery Tuesday morning at a Marion County, IN bank. One of her twins died Thursday night, and the other died Friday morning. They were not killed by a bullet, but died because of their mother’s serious gunshot injuries.
In order for manslaughter charges to be filed in Indiana, the mother would have had to have been at least seven months pregnant.
[I do not think the mother, if she survives her injuries, will feel better knowing that the government of Indiana tells her that her dead children, killed just after viability, were not victims of manslaughter.]
Police are searching for the killer.

Rozlynn Rodgers, 19, of Chicago, IL was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the April 4 death of her 5-month-old daughter, Makalah. Rodgers told authorities she drowned the child because she no longer wanted to be a mother, because she couldn’t go to parties.
Rodgers also was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer during her arrest.

An abandoned newborn boy was found Friday in some bushes in Palmetto, FL covered with ants and flies. The baby was rescued by retired Bradenton Police Capt. Randy Petroskey, 52, who happened to be at the location with his son Nick, 17. After medical treatment, the boy was found to be in relatively good condition. Police are seeking the mother.

It makes me wonder if you really know what you are posting or not.
If a person knows that the two verses you quoted have nothing to do with each other, why would they be posted together, with no explanation mind you, expect to expect something other than the response I gave?
I just listened to Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s sermon from April. 13, 2003 on ” Confusing God and the government” - John 11:35 and Luke passage “Jesus wept”.
I clearly do not see the connection between the time of the nation of Israel in John and Luke (whom Jesus lived in) and the nation of the USA today.
The differences are very stark.
Israel was under Roman domination.
The US is not under domination.
Is Reverend Wright attempting to draw a similarity between the Roman Empire and the USA?
Again, the differences are very stark. They do not come even close to being the same.
I appreciate his illustartion of the scripture, but I do not see this attempt at trying to connect Rome and the USA.

There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!

Ollie replied, ‘Yes, I did, Sir.’

What I was getting at was that Reverend Wright’s sermon is trying to place his church (Trinity UCC Chicago that has it’s main focus on African Americans) in modern day America as a direct parallel with the Jews in Israel under Roman domination.
I just do not see the connection or similarity.
The last two thirds of his sermon is political ranting and raving about “Confusing God and the government”.

He is very forceful on that theme, because that is one of the themes of liberation theology as a whole!!

I made a mistake by simply pasting an email from a retired partner of my company into the blog. A man usually quite reliable and accurate, one I greatly respect in spite of his mistake. But this time I found out his email was not accurate, and I very quickly said so. My mistake was rushing to post because of the hour and other interests going on at the time.
A mistake…YES, a grave sin, of course not, ridiculous to even suggest. A very common embarrassment, but then you and your friends ARE ridiculous, as you prove over and over, and are now.
Like the Gordan Lightfoot sings in his very perceptive folk song “The House You Live In”, he states, “Be calm in the face of all common disgraces and know what they’re doing it for”. That is very telling in this case as well, for all to perceive. What,(?)…are they doing it for, and why?
They, including you, are doing it doing it because you are small, petty, cowardly little people, to be pitied.
My admission came very quickly, but like a pack of jackals, the scavengers that you, BlueJay, and Monkeyhawk are, you take it and go into a frenzy, all you can then do is continue on and on about a minor mistake. Remember you will now be held to a like standard, but I imagine with your lack of character, along with your fellow scavengers, you will continue to feed to the point of gluttony revealing the true shallowness of your character.
