Hamas Confirms: Carter To Meet Terrorist Leader
Thursday, April 10, 2008
By Joseph Abrams
NEW YORK — A senior Hamas official has confirmed that former President Jimmy Carter will meet with Khaled Meshal, the exiled head of the Palestinian terror group Hamas, during a visit to Syria next week, according to the Associated Press.
Whew, that was crazy. Damned database connections !!!
This is a great (short read) - and no it isn’t Dr. Paul. Great for both sides of the aisle.
Glenn Beck: America needs a 12-step program

Obama’s wife gives away Socialist Goal.
Let’s lower the expectations of everyone to the Socialist level. If anyone has too much pie, let’s take it away and give it to those who need it!
http://ace.mu.nu/archives/259776.php
Most Americans, [Michelle Obama] said, don’t want much.
“They don’t want the whole pie,” she told the women. “There are some who do, but most Americans feel blessed just being able to thrive a little bit. But that is becoming even more out of reach.”
After law school, she and Barack were beset by loans they’d still be paying had her husband not written two best-sellers, “The Audacity of Hope” and “Dreams From My Father.”
Those debts early in their marriage, she said, equips her husband to better understand the problems many Americans face.
Should she become first lady, she said she’d focus on family issues.
“If we don’t wake up as a nation with a new kind of leadership…for how we want this country to work, then we won’t get universal health care,” she said.
“The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.”
Poor Obama, had so many student loans after going thru law school at Harvard.
Feel real sorry for him.
We should have free Harvard law school’s all over the country for everybody!
Sol, Glenn Beck has some good ideas, but here’s how Liberals will interpret his 12-point plan:
- Step One: Admit we are not powerless.
*** The Government has a lot of power - and it needs more power! How else can Government take care of everybody if it doesn’t get more power?
- Step Two: Believe that a power greater than ourselves can restore us to sanity.
*** There is no God. Government is the greatest power on Earth!
- Step Three: Decide to take our power back.
*** When The People have all the power, they are so stupid and incapable that they just screw everything up. Government should take it’s power back, on behalf of The People.
- Step Four: Make a complete and fearless moral inventory.
*** The People have no morals, and don’t need any. The Government is the authority to judge us all right or wrong.
- Step Five: Admit our wrongs, and our rights.
*** George Bush is the one to blame for everything that is wrong. And the rest of the Republicans are also to blame, but mainly George Bush is at fault. Achievements? America has none. America is evil and needs to be changed now! Democrats will give us the Hope we need to Change!
- Step Six: Be ready to remove our defects.
*** Look out you nasty Republicans, and Big Evil Corporations. You will be eliminated!
Telecom Whistleblower Discovers Circuit that Allows Access to All Systems on Wireless Carrier—Phone Calls, Text Messages, Emails and More
Babak Pasdar is a computer security expert who was hired in 2003 to help restructure the tech infrastructure at a major wireless telecommunications company. What he found shocked him. The company had set up a system that gave a third party, presumably a governmental entity, access to every communication coming through that company’s infrastructure. This means every email, internet use, document transmission, video, text message, as well as the ability to listen to and record any phone call.

About that 4th amendment…

Obama was overheard singin this song when he thought the microphone was turned off:
Bye-bye Miss American Pie
Raised the taxes on the Rich
took away their pie
and made them cry
And them good ole boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye
And Singin’, “this’ll be the day the rich die!”
“this’ll be the day the rich die!”
And so the Rich were dead and gone
And we sat around singin songs
Living off the fat, of the land
Drove my Chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
All the workers had up and died
And no one was around,
To make pie!
And them good ole boys were just sittin around
All the whiskey barrels had gone dry
And they were Singin’, “this’ll be the day we all die!”
“this’ll be the day we all die!”
Cause no one was around,
To make pie!
And they were Singin’, “this’ll be the day we all die!”
“this’ll be the day we all die!”
Heck Sol, we don’t need the 2nd Amendment, so why should we (or how can we) keep the rest of the Constitution?

Clinton, Wal-Mart Founder Trade Praise in 1991 Video
On the campaign trail, Senator Hillary Clinton’s ties to the retail giant Wal-Mart are coming under new scrutiny today following the release of videotape during her time as a company board member. Clinton sat on Wal-Mart’s board between 1986 and 1992. In a videotape released by the Center for Public Integrity from February 1991, Clinton heaps praise on Wal-Mart at a ceremony marking the reopening of its original store in Arkansas.
Hillary Clinton: “I’m so proud of this company and everything that it represents. You know, anytime I travel and I tell people I’m from Arkansas, and now finally they’re raising some real positive things about us, no matter where I go. And Wal-Mart’s on top of the list, and everybody wants me to tell them about Wal-Mart and Sam Walton and Helen Walton and all of the Wal-Mart associates. And it just makes me feel real good about what we’re able to do and what we can show and the kind of leadership we’re given.”

“Telling the story
By DALE HOGG dhogg@gbtribune.com
Historians are on a mission to save key World War II landmarks
From an extensive network of Army Air Corps bases scattered throughout Kansas, Nebraska and elsewhere in America’s heartland, young pilots set off on training missions in the formidable World War II warbird, the B-29.
These airmen, some young enough to have never driven a car, learned the skills necessary to fly the beast-like bombers in combat with the goal of bringing Germany and Japan to their knees.
Meanwhile, near the myriad air fields, the influx of servicemen and civilian base personnel altered the faces of small towns like Great Bend and Pratt.
Now, 60 years later, as this generation passes and the massive hangars that once housed the planes and other structures fall prey to Mother Nature and passing years, a new corps of warriors has embarked on a new mission.
Their target: Save at least the hangars before the memories of that conflict’s impact on the prairie slip into the dusty folds of time…

As long as the democracy is what the US wants.
If it’s not like in Palestine, we just put a world-wide embargo on it and crush it like a bug.
That’s democracy, Bush-style. Heads we win, tails you lose.
And Max would never call the Israeli Army who crushed an American to death with a giant bulldozer in the process of stealing Palestine land “terrorists.”

NEW YORK — After weeks of double-digit leads in what has become the biggest prize for Hillary Clinton’s survival in the nomination process, Pennsylvania, her lead now seems to be shrinking. New polls indicate Clinton’s lead over Barack Obama in the Keystone State may be as close as 6 points. Sound familiar?
I don’t know Capn, if I had sworn my mission in life was to destroy you, would you meet with me?
Hammas reason for being is to destroy Israel. Yeah, let’s meet with Hammas and have a frickin tea party with em.

Dear Nazi,
Masturbate in public much? Judging from your compulsive posting, sure seems like it.
Breaking news today: torture–oh, sorry, “enhanced interrogation–was discussed and approved at the highest levels of the Bush Administration by a group called the “Principals.” The group included Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, John Ashcroft, Colin Powell, Donald Rumsfeld, and George Tenet.

Elton John’s Hillary Clinton Fundraiser Concert Meets With Controversy
By: Lauren Moraski
Last night’s (Wednesday, April 9th) Elton John fundraiser for Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton sparked talk about whether the British singer’s performance was unlawful because he’s not from the U.S. According to the Washington Times, some were questioning if Elton’s New York City show went against the Federal Election Campaign Act, which looks to “minimize foreign intervention” in U.S. elections.
More specifically the act “prohibits any foreign national from contributing, donating or spending funds in connection with any federal, state, or local election in the United States, either directly or indirectly.” It goes on to explain that people who engage in those activities could be subject to fines or imprisonment.
Would you call the FBI a terrorist group for what they did in Waco?
Of course not.
They were serving an arrest warrent on the wacko cult-leader David Koresh.
The culpability for the death and destruction are entirely his for not surrendering and getting his day in court as is his Constitutional guarentee.
Oh, brother. Elton John is “foreign intervention.”
You CONs are just plain f***ed up, that’s it in a nutshell.

Iraqi Judiciary Calls for Release of Bilal Hussein from US Military Jail
In other Iraq news, an Iraqi judicial committee has called for the release of the imprisoned Associated Press photographer Bilal Hussein from a US military jail. Hussein has been jailed without charge for nearly two years. This week, a four-judge panel ruled Hussein falls under an amnesty law and should be released without delay. The US military has not responded to the order. The US has also detained without charge the Al Jazeera cameraman Sami al-Haj, held at Guantanamo Bay for the past five years.

Dems Seek Delay of Colombia Trade Pact
On Capitol Hill, Democrats say they plan to indefinitely delay a vote on a controversial trade agreement with Colombia. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said lawmakers need more time to consider the deal.
Labor unions and human rights organizations have been pushing Congress to reject the treaty, in part because Colombia has the highest rate of killings of trade unionists in the world. According to Human Rights Watch, seventeen trade unionists have been killed in Colombia in the first three months of this year.

Does Smart Equal Liberal?
By Wray Herbert
Nobody thinks their own values and attitudes are foolish. It goes against human nature. Say you meet someone who believes that a woman’s proper place is in the home. And say, for the purposes of argument, that you firmly believe this as well. You are going to assume that this person who shares this core value is intelligent, that this attitude is a reflection of reason and mental acuity. Or say you meet someone who shares your concern for the natural environment. You will automatically conclude that this new acquaintance must be a sophisticated thinker. At the very least, you are not going to think, hey, he’s a lot like me, he must be stupid.
Given that this is true, how can we ever know if some values are more intelligent, more reasoned, or more cognitively sophisticated than others? Put another way, does native intelligence lead to a certain set of values, and stupidity to another worldview altogether?
Surprisingly, this fundamental question has never been examined scientifically—until now. Psychologist Ian Deary of the University of Edinburgh realized he could explore the link between IQ and values using a very large existing data base on kids who were born in 1970. These boys and girls, more than 7000 of them, had all taken IQ tests at the age of ten, so he was able to sort out the bright kids from their duller classmates. These kids had then been tracked and interviewed repeatedly for two decades, so there was a rich record of not only their education and work lives but also their basic attitudes and beliefs: on race, gender equality, the environment, the sanctity of marriage, and so forth. In short, Deary wanted to see what kind of people they turned into at age 30, as they stood on the cusp of the 21st century.
Not to put too fine a point on it: The smartest kids turned into the most broad-minded and progressive adults. For example, the most intelligent kids turned out 20 years later to be much more tolerant of other races. They were also much more supportive of working mothers, rejecting the notion that pre-school children will suffer without a stay-at-home mother. In general, the sharpest kids came to embrace much less traditional moral values and were much more apt to challenge authority. They were also much less cynical as adults, more trusting that the political system can do good.
Why would native intelligence translate into a more enlightened worldview later on? One obvious possibility is that the smarter kids end up getting a better education; they read more books and newspapers and are exposed to a richer culture of ideas. But the data, reported in the January issue of Psychological Science, don’t appear to support this explanation.
Instead, it appears to be something about the intelligent brain itself: Smart people may have a different emotional makeup, a personality that is more open to experience. Or it may be that high IQ at age ten eventually leads to more complex moral reasoning: In short, smart people alone may have the cognitive machinery that’s needed for more flexible analysis of political and moral quandaries.

CATO: Climate Speculators Have (Robin’s) Egg on Their Face
Wednesday, April 09, 2008
By Patrick J. Michaels
Ah, spring!
I know it’s here when swarms of red-breasted robins descend on my Virginia farm, rooting for every worm that survived winter.
No one gains much political traction writing about global warming’s threat to turkey buzzards, but robins are cute, so they’re more often the subject of climate change speculation.
Global warming is not pushing the robin to extinction. Au contraire: It’s expanding the robin’s range northward, into places where it’s never been seen. Robins are venturing so far north that they’ve even been sighted in the Inuit territory of northern Canada, where, Sen. John McCain tells us, there isn’t even a word for the birds.
Yes, even John McCain has feathered his political nest with the robin’s expansion. Back in 2004, after a hearing McCain organized as chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, The New York Times’ Andrew Revkin noted that he was particularly concerned about the rapid warming of the Arctic.
“The Inuit language for 10,000 years never had a word for ‘robin,’” McCain lamented, “and now there are robins all over their villages.” The BBC even titled a program on arctic warming “No Word for ‘Robin’: Climate Change in the Canadian Arctic.”
What a shame! Pretty little birds invading the Arctic, bringing joy with their whoop of spring!
But, of course, it’s not true. Like the tale of the endangered polar bears that happen to be at or near record population levels, the robin story is yet another climate confabulation. It ranks with the death of frogs in the mountains of Colombia now shown to be caused not by global warming, but by the introduction of fatal fungus on the shoes of concerned ecotourists.
It’s always instructive to consult the wisdom of our elders about climate change, and so I found an article, “The Naming of Birds by Nanamuit Eskimo,” by Laurence Irving of the U.S. Public Health Service in Anchorage, Alaska, in a 1953 edition of the refereed journal Arctic.
Irving describes his extensive visits with the people of Northern Alaska, residing in the Brooks Range — the most northerly mountain chain in the United States. He compared English names for birds with the Eskimo names of the ones they encountered.
Irving noted that the bird names were given by the Nanamuit elders. They were no birdie-come-latelys.
Irving’s list brings us the Nanamuit word for “robin”: “Koyapigaktoruk.” While this may surprise Sen. McCain or the BBC, the Nanamuits saw robins, and this is their phonetic way of describing the tones of an arriving redbreast looking for a mate.
Nesting, and not just some windblown flotsam? Irving designated the robin’s status as “NM,” meaning “nesting migrant.”
The lack of due diligence on the subject of climate change can be breathtaking. In 1913, Vilhjalmur Stefansson published a book, now available at Amazon.com, called “My Life With the Eskimo.” Look it up online and search for “robin,” and on page 493 you will find text describing robin sightings, obviously before 1913 (and before global warming), all over the Canadian Arctic.
Stefansson gives the word as “Kre-ku-ak’tu-yok,” which sounds suspiciously like the 1953 word given by Irving. That’s the Canadian word. It’s “Shab’wak” in Alaskan Eskimo.
There are plenty of words in Inuit, or Eskimo, describing our red-breasted harbingers of spring. What’s a little disturbing is how the myth of the robin persists, when it is so easy to find the truth.
My minions in Charlottesville informed The Times of the error six months ago. Finally, on April 3, Andrew Revkin posted an acknowledgement on his blog, but no correction in the newspaper itself. We’ve been holding our breath waiting for it to appear in print, only to turn robin’s-egg blue.
At the same time, how about a little truth-telling about the hoax of “Warming Island,” an islet off Greenland that was — erroneously — thought to be a part of Greenland, connected by land lying beneath the ice.
As Greenland warmed over the last decade, the ice melted and revealed open water underneath, thus giving birth to a “new” island. Climate change enthusiasts claimed the channel between island and mainland had not been revealed for countless millennia.
As it turns out, maps show that Warming Island, indeed, was very much an island a mere 50 years ago, when Greenland, in fact, was warmer than it has been for the last 10 years.
As sure as the robin’s song of spring, we continue to hope that America’s best newspaper (and the BBC) will sing out the truth about climate change and the bob, bob, bobbin’ of the red, red Koyapigaktoruk in the North American Arctic.
Patrick J. Michaels is senior fellow in environmental studies at the Cato Institute.
Your link doesn’t go to the story Steven. But I understand the story was written on April 1st.
At Rudy Ridge and at Waco, the feds had legitimate arrest warrants - it both cases the perps fired on agents first.
The Waco situation is particularly troublesome, since that episode is so often mentioned as proof and the Clinton’s anti-gun bias.
Koresh was a criminal - claimed that he was Jesus Christ - deflowered most of the young teens in the compound - failed to surrender many times and then started the fires that killed his followers.
Why does the gun lobby idolize and apologize for this man?
Makes no sense.

The FBI had a warrant after all. And for what? One sawed-off shotgun.
BFD.
We want BIG GOVERNMENT!
ALL CONTROLLING!
ALL POWERFUL!
SO what if they screw up sometimes and shag a few Americans for no reason.
To hell with Freedom.
“Yeah clark, shooting the 16 year old boy in the back, and the baby on the porch, it was all ok.”
One, the had a legitimate warrant, and Weaver fired on the agents. He put his family in harm’s way.
Two, shooting at law enforcement agents is like signing your own death warrant.
Three, Weaver had several opportunities to surrender to agents.
Four, the shots were aimed at Weaver, not anyone else, but Weaver himself put his family in that position. He had an opportunity to allow his family to leave the compound. He didn’t.
While the Rudy Ridge incident was regretful, the fault lies with Randy Weaver.
Personally I think it is a good thing when loons like Randy Weaver and David Koresh get to take the dirt nap early.
hate to agree with the Libs, but Koresh was a nut job and got what he deserved. Tragically, he put innocents in harm’s way because of his maniacal aspirations to be some sort of deity.
JR you ARE SCUM.
What is it that made Weaver deserve what he got?
You are an ass JR.
Yeah, Weaver fired at the FBI. AFTER they shot his son.
And Weaver wasn’t anywhere near his wife and baby when the FBI shot the baby out of her arms.
Great, the Libs will defend Big Government to the nth degree.
Whatever it takes to get their free Socialist handouts, it’s worth it.
“Yeah, Weaver fired at the FBI. AFTER they shot his son.”
Nope, Weaver fired first and refused to surrender.
He made his choice. He had twelve days to surrender.
If you want to start open warfare with Law Enforcement, you better be willing to deal with the consequences.
So, Max, if the FBI came to your house with a warrant for your arrest, would you barricade yourself and your family inside your home?
Would you shoot at the officers trying to arrest you?
Would you be willing to sacrifice your family?
And if you Max die
before I wake
My little heart?
It would NOT break!
By the way, Max, who was in charge of the Big Government when the incident happened?
And Max, did Sammy Weaver and Kevin Harris shoot and kill a US Marshall?
Don’t know enough about the Weaver situation to comment. It was tragic though.
“And Weaver wasn’t anywhere near his wife and baby when the FBI shot the baby out of her arms”
No they didn’t - they shot Vicki Weaver.
Clark, you don’t even GET the two points I made on this issue.
1)You called Israel a terrorist nation based on one incident. By YOUR standards, the US is a terrorist nation based on the 2 FBI incidents I pointed out.
2)When the Clinton/Obama gun-banners get their gun confiscation laws passed, there will be not one or two, but thousands of “Weaver” incidents all over America. Clinton/Obama will have to make an “example” out of the first few defenders of the 2nd Amendment. What they don’t understand, is that there will be thousands if not millions of Americans they will have to shoot down, as “examples”.
Will one of you be the next “example”?
Yeah, after Weaver’s son was shot in the back, Weaver defended his family.
Was one sawed-off shot gun worthy of an entire squad of FBI agents, swarming one house with helicopters to enforce one gun violation? Even though Weaver hadn’t harmed anyone with that shotgun before?
Examples. Thousands more are needed in Clark’s world of Big Government.
The People, must be controlled and made to conform. Socialism, will take force to implement in America.
You ready to count the bodies?
And Vicki Weaver was shot while holding her baby.
Nice Clark.
Very nice.
“1)You called Israel a terrorist nation based on one incident. By YOUR standards, the US is a terrorist nation based on the 2 FBI incidents I pointed out.”
Try to read, Max, that wasn’t me.
“2)When the Clinton/Obama gun-banners get their gun confiscation laws passed, there will be not one or two, but thousands of “Weaver” incidents all over America. Nope - banning all guns would be unconstitutional and neither the House nor the Senate would pass such a bill.
Neither Obama or Clinton would sign such a bill.
And the warrant and subsequent missed court date the prompted the incident was because Randy Weaver SOLD two sawed off shotguns to an undercover agent. The FBI was not trying to confiscate weapons.
If he (Weaver) had shown up in court to face the charges, there would have been no incident.
Regardless of what you may feel about them, at the time, shotguns with 14″ barrels were illegal.
“And Vicki Weaver was shot while holding her baby.”
Yes, she was - why didn’t Randy Weaver have her and his children leave the cabin. If he wanted to fight it out, he and Kevin Harris should of had the cajones to do it alone - not with women and children present.
“Was one sawed-off shot gun worthy of an entire squad of FBI agents, swarming one house with helicopters to enforce one gun violation? Even though Weaver hadn’t harmed anyone with that shotgun before?”
No, the warrant was for failure to appear and Weaver had been noted for saying that he would not be taken
alive.
Why didn’t he just show up at court for his required appearance?
Easy right? No dead bodies.
Miguel,
Try this link - go to the bottom of the page. It was written in January, well before April fools day. You guys know its conclusions are correct. That was why we were given a candidate by your party whom the average citizen would want to have a beer with. What a sad mire of dumbness your party has become. I am sure Lincoln is turning over in his grave as we speak.

“Nope, Weaver fired first and refused to surrender.”
I was wrong, Kevin Harris and SAMMY Weaver fired first, killing a US Marshall.
RANDY Weaver then refused to surrender.
Regardless of your position, killing a U S Marshall is not a good choice.
Romans 1
18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
John 3
16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.[b] 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
Dang, this place has gotten real quiet since they introduced registration. I guess that tells us how many nic switchers and sock puppets were here before.
Funny, some claimed that there were NONE of the above.
Guess they were wrong.
But how do the spam posters still get through?
test
Spam posters- like parkay?
Parkay - strictly scroll over territory.

I’m not sure what you mean by “spam poster” also I have never seen any of the porn post as I think Max and fleetwood have described, perhaps it is filtered out thru my software- not sure but I have yet to see anything of the sort.
The Spam Posters show up - most are porno sites, some are phishing, some are just the “Free Rolex Watches” types.
Garbage.
Huh…that’s what I thought, but as I stated I haven’t seen any of that yet. That does seem to illuminate a loop-hole in the registration of the blog if that has occurred post-registration.

Gosh Max, I make one post all day, and all you can find is to shoot back with your usual ad hominem, bull crap??? Really great, there, Max!!
