Obama shifting campaign style

obamabasketball.jpgKarl Rove - bless his heart - offered Barack Obama some tips on how to get his mojo back. They included redoing his stump speech, stopping the political attacks and talking more about his policy proposals. “Americans want to see your passion and commitment to things they care about, in ways that give them confidence you’re up to the job,” Rove wrote.

But Obama’s campaign already has retooled. Rather than holding so many of the giant campaign events, Obama is doing more town hall-style meetings and is reminding voters of his modest upbringing and his work as a community organizer. And as Rove recommended, he is backing off criticism of Hillary Clinton.

As a “neighborhood organizer” did Obama ever tell people to call the police, if they witness a murder?

As a “neighborhood organizer” did Obama threaten lawsuits against lenders who did not approve “sub-prime” loans?

What, exactly, did Obama advocate, as an “organizer”??

Did Obama ever push for anything other than gun control, hand outs, and litigation?

I’d like to see both Obama and Clinton follow that advice. Focus on showing us why we should vote for them - not why we should not vote for the other guy. Reserve THAT padt for McCain.

    Ben
Senator Clinton has called for a Lincoln-Douglas style debate.

No moderators. Just the two candidates and issues.

    Obama has said no.

But I think a debate like that would be much more informative then this mindless, petty, crap.

Obama would listen to his supporters I think. I’d like to see them call for Obama to accept Senator Clinton’s challenge.

These two are going to HAVE to work something out. Such a debate would be a good start.

Amen to that, Ben. Some of the shit I see flying here reminds of a post-election SNL ad parody in 1988: A combined flagburning/WillieHorton/BostonHarbor dirge, ending with:

“Bush: He beat a bad man!”

Rove needs to stay the f out of our party. That man can go fall into a vat of battery acid for all I care.

Modest? Harvard?? Big House on a “Community Organizer” paycheck. Maybe I should go into that line of Non-Work.

One can have a modest background and go to Harvard or MIT. Those schools have extensive financial aid available as long as the student is academically qualified and keeps his/her grades up.

This may come as a shock, but please is this Obama day? For goodness sake the other two will think that the Eagle does not love them with four Obama and Wright threads! Bill Kristol was sing Hillary’s praise in the NY Times today. At least the Neocons love her!

Let’s remember that Karl Rove lied to a grand jury. And that he learned dirty tricks from Donald Segretti, worked for George Sr., then chauffered Jr. around in his cocaine days. Wasn’t he (Bush, not Rove) in the Texas Air Nat’l Guard then?

Has anyone noticed that cable channel “news” has gone the way of E-Entertainment Tonight and Inside Edition?

In the print world, it’s a trend toward Rupert Murdoch. What drives that?

    OMG! Karl Rove is right.
That surely MUST be a sign of the apocolypse.
