Clinton ramps up call to count Florida and Michigan!

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton Saturday strengthened her pitch to allow disputed primaries in Michigan and Florida to be counted in the nominating contest, noting the vote totals had been officially recognized in each state.

have nothing but contempt for Tim Russert. He specializes in “gotcha” moments, even on things that should not matter. He not only covers elections like sporting events (something the punditocracy does too much), he tries to make news.

And, incredibly, in Bill Moyers' "Buying the War" he admitted to leaving fact-finding up to the two parties i.e., Repubs say one thing, Dems say another, and then, magically, fact appears!

The man is not a journalist, or anything resembling one.

ksfarmgrrl, I read the link. The only thing that supports the contention that Obama "swiftboated" the Clintons is the headline. Surrogates of both campaigns have gone overboard. Certainly, the moral outrage of the Clinton supporter over Obama "only apologizing after he had been caught" is extremely disingenuous, considering some of the things that have been said on her behalf (or for that matter, a couple of the things she said herself).

And by the way, let me make this clear. I have nothing but contempt for Tim Russert. He specializes in "gotcha" moments, even on things that should not matter. He not only covers elections like sporting events (something the punditocracy does too much), he tries to make news. The commercial nature of the media will continue to support this behavior.

Good job, folks. The 04-02-08 open thread was shut down.

Assuming that the Eds want more hits to justify their advertising costs, you all have them stomp on their own interests?

Interesting, no?

Econ, it is not uncommon for a congregation to build a retirement home for a retiring minister, especially afte 30+ years in the same congregation!! Please note that Pastor Wright had purchased the land on his own first... Then the church bought the land from him...

Sounds like some sort of a Retirement consideration -- like professional athletes that get real estate considerations...

Are people just plain stupid. McCain wants 100 years of unnecessary war and an economic mess his party is responsible for.
I'm glad Hitler is dead or he'd have a chance of winning as president.
Voting for McCain is proof you need mental help.

Political Mama and Songbird,

I will post my reply to your postings today in the morning on the next open thread.

Unfortunately, the thread turns into little more than crap past 10:00pm and it would be pointless for me to post my response now.

Good night.

Apparently it's only Evangelical televangelists who can have mega mansions, but a nice new house for a retired black pastor, oh gee can't have that. I bet a Million dollar home there is quite a bit different than a million dollar home here.

At least Paul is a catholic, and their people don't act so vulgar and gluttonous.

How does a man who uses terms like "rich white people" get away with living in a $1,000,000.00 house, built with church money?

And, how can the Church justify these expenses, in a city where 20 teenagers have been shot and killed in the last 6 months?
