While citing “enormous progress†on race, she said America’s past “makes it hard for us to confront it, hard for us to talk about it, and hard for us to realize that it has continuing relevance for who we are today.â€
She also called Barack Obama’s recent speech on race “important.â€
“What I would like understood as a black American is that black Americans loved and had faith in this country even when this country didn’t love and have faith in them — and that’s our legacy.â€

Condi sounds a lot like the Reverend Wright.
And the fact is, the only way we got a Constitution of the United States of America is by determining African-Americans were 3/5th of a human.
The only-est reason for the Civil War was race.
Race was the basis for the sea-change in American politics in the 1960s when Democrats rejected institutional racism and the Republic Party embraced it.

NO the Civil WQar was about “States Rights”, and Federalism, slavery was the last reason, and only stated in the Emancipation Proclamation in 1862 and later in 1863, that was really 2-3 years after the Civil War stated.

The fact is, Republicans voted for civil rights by a large majority.
The stronghold of the KKK, in the 1920’s through WWI was in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and other Northern industrial, labor union dominated states.
Actually, to me, being patriotic means, partly, that I respect the system in American that, generally speaking, helps correct errors over time.
No country is perfect.
No people are perfect.
What is wrong with Pastor Wright and liberals is that they hate America, but dont seem to have a clue about why they are even able to speak as freely as they do, in the country that they hate.

After reading all of the posts, it made realize why the USA is such a great country. Americans are fortunate to have freedom of speech so Pepper can speculate that Secreary of State, Condi Rice is gay and Citizen Dave can float the theory that the black race is a separate inferior species. Kansas is the greatest poltical state in the Union because it has a relatively small population base with passionate militant citizens that are not afraid to be poltically incorrect.
I have a theory that every one in Kansas is linked together by 1 or 2 degrees of separation. The WE blogs makes it even easier to stay connected. I doubt that Condi Rice is gay because she is an attractive, ambitious, intelligent succesful middle aged woman who has never been married. If Citizen Dave’s theories about genetics are correct, our governmentneeeds to get busy adopting policies to encourage selective interracial breeding to create a superrace of highly successful bi-racial Americans like Barak Obama or Tiger Woods.
The social problems in America are not related to race or to class. The problems are due to bi-artisan fascist local, state and federal government officals and agencies that are afraid of transparency and accountability that would expose the parasitic rerelationship of attorneys, mental health professonals,medical professionals and construciton contractors that are dependent on government funding or mandates over health insurance.
I used to think tht fat cat developers and government contractors were the only source of government corruption. Affirmative action programs have created an elitist class of Uncle Toms and feminists who are afraid to advocate for government reforms to improve the lives of minorities, women and children. Even conservative Christian community leaders are being seduced by the fascist, elitist power brokers because Christian politicians and pastors are betraying their responsibility to speak the truth as they grovel at the feet of Todd Tiahrt or state appropriators for federaland state government funding for their pet “faith based” initiatives.
I think most of our social problems including multi-generation of fatherless black children would be solved with truth, transparency, accountability and moral government leadership. We don’t need affirmative action programs that arbitrarily give competitive advantages to one citizen over anoher. We certainly don’t need the state SRS agencies illegally taking childen away from their families to justify their multi-billion federal funding for their massive, fascist bureacracies. We don’t need state funding to promote early childhood public school programs to usurp parental responsibility.
I think it’s time for the media to expose the many government scandals in Wichita instead of promoting bigger and more expensive government programs. It would be helpful if Econ101 would use his influence to encourage the powerful Wichita libertarian families liekthe Grveys & Kochs to support fundamental government reform that promotes transarency and accountability instead of focusing only on lower taxes. If KSFarm Girl wants to protect women from sexual harrassment, she should challenge the hypocritcal liberal ACLU lawyers like Jim Lawing and Raj Goyle to at least acknowledge that rule of law does not exist in the Sedgwick County Courts and the Commission onJudicial Qualfiications. Instead of promoting themselves to try to be poltical king makers, the pro-life organizations in Wichita should lobby the government to mind its own business and let the extended families and churches do their jobs to solve these social problems. There are too many wannabees in the black community and Christian community that are completely happy with the status quo either because their livelihoods are dependent on the government or because they want to work the system so tht they can be the next Venita & Rip Gooch and own a small piece of a Sumner County casino with former mayor Bob Knight or become the next Todd Tiahrt or Susan Wagle. In Wichita it’s all about money, power and self-promotion rather than principle, reform or accountability.
