Neither Clinton, Obama best qualified to handle crisis

mccainIn the battle of the “3 a.m.” commercials between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, the winner has to be John McCain. “I’ve been involved in every major national security challenge for the last 20 years that has faced this country,” McCain said Monday. “I look forward to having that debate as to who’s most qualified in the event of a national crisis and the phone ringing at 3 a.m. in the White House.”

Rather than compete with it, the Democratic nominee will need to find ways around McCain’s formidable experience with national security and foreign policy. To see the ads, click here for Clinton’s and here for Obama’s.

Regardless of all of this theatre of battle and in spite of people voting, Clinton is the next President.

    So on with the show!

I’m going out for popcorn, let me know what I missed.

At times I fall back into the same mind set I had at the beginning of the invasion. “Well they must know something I do not!”. As to the invasion, no, they did not know anymore than I did. Now too at times I wonder if there is just something that is not apparent as to why they takes some stances. Mc Cain worries me, his stance on the Bush Doctrine and his willingness to continue it means he is harmful to this nation.
He has shown he is nothing more than “Bush-like”, this should set off alarm bells for both Republicans and Democrats alike.

The most challenging task for the Democratic nominee will NOT be dealing with McCain’s experience in foreign affairs or military matters. Rather, it will be impeaching his professed and oft-media-repeated capacity for “straight-talk”. This is the alleged trait that independent voters and even some Dems claim attracts them to McCain. But I think there is ample evidence out there of McCain flip-flopping - most recently on the bill that would have declared water-boarding to be torture. What was all that hub-bub about that McCain was giving the Bush Admin last year? His backbone just turned to mush last month when his nomination was still in doubt, and his desire to have a photo-op today with the prez was at stake. I guess water-boarding wasn’t as tortuous for McCain as the prospect of losing the nomination.

As for military matters, all that “experience” enjoyed by Rumsfeld did this country a helluva lot of good, didn’t it? We need a president who has the capacity to engage in quick, accurate and analytical thinking so as to find the best solution in any crisis. Like John Kennedy was able to do with the help of his brother during the Cuban missle crisis, when the military minds all were beating the drums of war.

(puts on theme music for Camelot and pops a bon-bon)

It’s true! It’s true! The crown has made it clear.
The climate must be perfect all the year.

A law was made a distant moon ago here:
July and August cannot be too hot.
And there’s a legal limit to the snow here
    In Camelot.
The winter is forbidden till December
And exits March the second on the dot.
By order, summer lingers through September
    In Camelot.
    Camelot! Camelot!
I know it sounds a bit bizarre,
    But in Camelot, Camelot
    That’s how conditions are.
The rain may never fall till after sundown.
By eight, the morning fog must disappear.
    In short, there’s simply not
    A more congenial spot
    For happily-ever-aftering than here
    In Camelot.

    Camelot! Camelot!
I know it gives a person pause,
    But in Camelot, Camelot
    Those are the legal laws.
The snow may never slush upon the hillside.
By nine p.m. the moonlight must appear.
    In short, there’s simply not
    A more congenial spot
    For happily-ever-aftering than here
    In Camelot.

    Let us be brutally fair.

At 3 A.M. any given morning, John McCain might be in a flashback to some of the horrendous experiences he has endured and not reasonable let alone rational to make command decisions.

By Zellary Clinton’s own standards (experience = qualified), McCain is the most qualified.

She even said McCain was more qualified than Obama.

Nevermind that this also means he’s more qualified than she is.

All she’s concerned about it beating Obama, and if that means dirty politics, she’s ready and willing.

    She can always flip-flop later . . .

Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld had even more time serving in Washington. Look how well that experience led the country. Don’t forget that pick of Donny shaking hands with Saddam when he was over there delivering WMD. Rhonda needs to distinguish between experience and incompetence.

“Our coordinated efforts to improve security for the people of Iraq are continuing. From January 7 through February 22, coalition forces have conducted 40 battalion-level operations, detained over 2,700 terrorists, and seized more than 1,400 caches of weapons and munitions. Al-Qaeda in Iraq remains the most significant threat”

Check out Fahrenheit 911 - then tell me what you think of the Bush family. They have been undercover shaking hands on all sorts of deals with the Bin Laden family for years. Why do you think we are at war now and they supposedly can not find him? Do your research people.

The war has very little to do with weapons of mass destruction - which they have never found. It has to do with the oil business that the Bush family and the Bin Laden family have been in for yearsssssssss.

    Deteriorating Military

Almost seven years ago I sat, as did millions of other Americans, and watched as our government underwent a peaceful transition of power.

At first, I felt a swell of pride and patriotism as I watched George W. Bush take his oath of office. However, all that pride quickly vanished as I later watched the Clintons board Air Force One for the last time.

I saw 21 Marines, in full dress uniform with rifles, fire a 21-gun salute to the outgoing President and first lady. It was then that I realized how far America’s military had deteriorated under the Clinton administration.

Every last one of them missed.

The good news for the Klintonistas is that they won some good wins.

The bad news for the Klintonistas and the Obama-ites is that neither can get enough delegates in the remaining races to walk away with the number required for the nomination.

Thusly, the Super Delegates will come into play at the Democratic Party Convention.

We will see whose palms have been greased to steal the nomination - er I mean win the nomination.

    “Check out Fahrenheit 911″

Ha ha ha ha! You mean the fictional documentary, with it’s 59 documented lies! FIFTY NINE lies that Michael Moore can not atone for. See Fahrenhype 911, and while your at it, watch Celsius 41.11.
Bin Laden’s family disowned him, and had him cast out of Saudi Arabia. The only family he has now is Al Qaeda, who is every true American’s enemy. Bin Laden is in northwestern Pakistan. This is why we moved our forces remaining in Afghanistan, up to southeastern Afghanistan. If Pakistan would let us help them in the northwest corner of their country, I am sure we would eliminate him from the equation. The war was NOT all about the weapons of mass destruction that Saddam had at least nine months to dispose of. The objectives we as follows:

The military objectives of Operation Iraqi Freedom consist of first, ending the regime of Saddam Hussein. Second, to identify, isolate and eliminate, Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction. Third, to search for, to capture and to drive out terrorists from the country. Fourth, to collect intelligence related to terrorist networks. Fifth, to collect such intelligence as is related to the global network of illicit weapons of mass destruction. Sixth, to end sanctions and to immediately deliver humanitarian support to the displaced and to many needed citizens. Seventh, to secure Iraq’s oil fields and resources, which belong to the Iraqi people. Finally, to help the Iraqi people create conditions for a transition to a representative self-government. (from Global Security .org)

I might suggest that YOU follow your own advice, and do some research!

Hey Pleefer I hate to pull you out, of your twilight zone existence, but Hinkley shot at Reagan, to get the attention of Jodi Foster. He said this from his own mouth, and has been examined by numerous psychiatric professionals. He had been stalking Foster for years. Reagan met with Hinkley himself, and forgave him. This is all well documented. Try to study some other views besides your anti-Bush, and anti-war buddies, sometimes. If anyone would have really wanted to kill Reagan they would have used someone a little more qualified than John Hinkley. Besides you can’t hold someone responsible because of relationships. I sure hope no one ever held my brother responsible for my actions.

I think what Cap’n means is that, when the roll of states is called during the convention, and each is asked how they vote, there will no description or distinction betwwen pledged dels and superdels. Kansas will announce so many votes for Clinton and so many for Obama, unless one candidate has previously conceded. In that event, there will be a unanimous ballot. Moreover, I don’t believe even “pledged” delegates are legally bound to vote for anyone in particular.
