This is URGENT The Senators say they are not hearing from the people — We don’t want this bill to DIE in committee because we didn’t make some phone calls!!!

Wednesday March 12 The Federal & State Affairs committee will vote on SB 458. If they do not hear from us, the people, they will give in to the pressures from the Chamber of Commerce and others who are threatening not to support them if they vote for it. Chas, a fallacy is a deceptive argument. I have not expressed a deceptive argument. I have expressed a reality. The law is that reality. The law is not a deceptive argument.

Why should illegal children be allowed to stay in the USA just because they had the good fortune of having been raised in the USA? And raised by parents who snuck into the USA and hid the family from the law for at least 3 years? Is that fair to everyone else who followed the law?

Institutions of higher learning operate under the laws of the state and the nation. Under those laws those institutions must plan each year for a certain number of students to attend the institution. That certain number is the number of “seats” or “spots” available for students. And that certain number, the legal capacity of the institution, is reserved for citizens (and legal residents, for that matter). That legal
capacity is even fleshed out by local fire codes restricting the legal number of occupants in a classroom.

Now then, all other things being equal, if an illegal alien is accepted due to an SAT score that is one point higher than a citizen, that means that a citizen cannot take a spot reserved
for citizens. The citizen is disenfranchised. Yet, if the law were followed, the citizen would gain that spot. Is it fair that the citizen is disenfranchised?

“Now, HOW in God’s Green Earth can you insinuate that the taxpayers are paying for their education???”

In using concise language, I stated that state and federal dollars pay for “some portion” of each spot. Not the entire spot, but “some portion”. Please notice that I expressed my
thoughts in concise language: “some portion”. Concise language should not be confused with deceptive argument.

If you take a look at how state colleges and universities are funded, you will see that state and federal dollars pay “some portion” of fixed costs and operating costs. Fixed costs entail building and infrastructure costs. Operating costs entail maintenance and administrative costs. These are costs that must be paid just to keep the institution open for business. These are costs paid by taxpayers and run into the 100s of millions of dollars in Kansas each year. For example:

Illegal aliens should not even be allowed to enroll in colleges. Why would they need an education, if they are using forged driver’s licenses and fake social security numbers? They can’t get a good job that way, nor should they.
In-state tuition for illegal aliens is illegal, by federal law.
