Out of the mouths of the powerful

bushdepartABC News’ the Note blog ends each day with a snappy quote or two to sum up the previous news cycle. Friday provided a bountiful three:

“You have to laugh to keep from crying.” — Hillary Clinton, on having been a presidential candidate for 398 days

“Fun day. Fun day.” — John McCain, boarding his campaign plane amid stories about his ties to a female lobbyist and snags over campaign finance rules

“Have you vomited yet today?” — President Bush, to an ailing reporter on Air Force One, along for the Africa trip

How about, “this is silly season” – Sen. Barack Obama responding to Sen. Clinton’s obtuse comment about “change you can xerox”.

Since when did concern for a sick person equate with lack of class? What is with you people? Have you never asked a person suffering with a virus if they were vomiting?

Honestly no. At least not in the rather brutish and boorish way bush asked it.

Shrub’s “vomit” question was to a reporter who is pregnant. High class frat boy “humor” about morning sickness.

    It’s not just his vice-president who’s a dick.

JR was your seat at the front or back of AF1? Were you close enough to actually what manner he asked it in? Maybe this is the type of comradarie they have with each other. Maybe your ears were deceiving you.

Monkey having been pregnant 3 times in my life I can assure you I was asked that several times by caring people.

What will you do with all of this hate when Bush is gone?

You have less class than anyone on this Blog.
In fact, JR, you have NO class at all.

You WISH illness, death and distruction upon your political opponents. Who are you to talk?

You are the last person on Earth who might have the moral authority to criticize anything that anyone else might say.

George W. Bush is loved in Africa. George W. Bush is praised by millions, there and around the world, for actually doing something to combat AIDs and Malaria.

Bush has made REAL progress against disease.

My guess is that the reporter, to whom Bush made the remark, was not the least bit offended.

Gotta admit that when it comes to spotting an outstanding candidate for village idiot, Africans are likely without peer.

Where is the “open thread”? I wanna talk about this “Kosovo Independence”. Is anyone paying attention to it? This is the start of something VERY huge. Russia ain’t happy about it. But we’ll just kick everyone’s ass huh? It’s us against the world!

    Shoulda read Brzezinski’s book.
    BTW,
Maybe if Africans knew about Bush they wouldn’t “love him”.

I would like to propose a solution for all of the ugliness on the BLOG.

I know a lot of the people here personally and I’ve really had no animus toward anyone until tonight.

If you would like to have a decent place for BLOGing and if you would like to find a solution (I have one to propose) please contact me by email.

Everyone that contacts me by tomorrow (Sunday) evening I will respond with my proposal.

Last I heard thats how it works on So. Broadway!
I wonder if Broadway Bobbi is still working? Nice woman but she was three hundred pounds and her hair color changed daily. AS long as she was working the streets. The Buffalo could sleep peacefully at night! I use to live in S/E wichita and when I would get to work my fellow officers would ask “So what color was Broadway Bobbi’s hair tonight?”.
